Overall we had a good experience with this hotel. It's a no-frills hotel right in the heart of Old San Juan. You can't beat the location and it was very affordable. The rooms left a little to be desired. The first room were put in had some ceiling mold and when we pointed it out to the staff they very kindly and promptly moved us to another room, even offering us several choices and allowing us to look at the rooms to decide which we wanted to move to. One of the options had a bit of a mildew smell, so we picked the other one. But the one we moved to was at the front of building looking out on to the street and there was absolutely no insulation from the street noise. Be aware that the street is very loud! There's a bar down the street playing loud music most of the night. I'm a very light sleeper and was fine with an eye mask and ear plugs, but if you have trouble sleeping you'll want to come prepared. Not a bad option for the price but don't expect the best.

After a long day of walking the streets of old San Juan it’s always relaxing coming back to the room. It’s clean and the beds are comfortable. It’s just what we need for my daughter and I. The front desk staff are very helpful and can direct you where to go and what to do around San Juan.

Good place

No Parking. You have to park on the street. Very hard to find spot. Check in was not easy, was able to go inside because another guest was coming out from the building and let me in. Bathroom too small. Won't stay here again.
3.8
The place did not have hot water, there were no windows in the room, the TV was very small and last there qas no way to turn on or off the ac in the room so it was super cold all the time.
3.8
Would be nice to know that most rooms have no windows. Not a big deal, but important to know prior to booking.
3.8
Older facility but completely acceptable
3.8
Very convenient location and a large room
3.8
Excellent location and staff.
Room was in a bad condition, not clean, freezing cold and there was no way to control it. No sound insulation so you would hear everything from the next room or the hallway. Only few rooms have window, the one we stayed didn't.

DO NOT STAY HERE. While the location is very desirable in central Old Town area… that is the only highlight. We checked in about 830pm and the front door was locked and not clear instructions on how to get in and get to the 2nd floor for check-in. The entire building is decrepit and unclean. Our room was damp-smelling and freezing cold, with only a sheet and very thin “blanket”. I have traveled a LOT and am fine to “rough it” if needed but this felt unsanitary, unsafe, and very unwelcoming demeanor from staff. It is worth the extra money in this area to stay in a chain brand hotel!!!
3.8
It’s was in a good spot for walking around and shopping
3.8
Pros- location, secured door to get in, old elevator to get to upper floors
Cons- smelled like weed throughout the entire building, AC was not controllable in the room. It ran full blast the entire night. Front desk gave us extra blankets, but had to sleep with jackets, down duvet isn’t there, coffee only in the morning, some rooms didn’t have windows, no smoke detectors, dated hotel that doesn't seem to have been upgraded

It is always a pleasure to stay at and location is everything

Good value and great location!

The property wasn’t ready when I check in it was late for two hours. I should get discount and plus they charge me $25 for a towel / when I don’t use public towels, I got my own personal towel
3.8
This was an nice room for a great price and great location clean rooms and size considering the age being a part of Old San Juan history would definitely stay here again
3.8
The hotel is in a good location. It is very dated, the front desk was spotty for help. Think I'll go somewhere else for old town next time
3.8
The location was great, and staff was friendly but the property smelled of mold. When waking up congested I knew I needed to leave early, I requested to check out early but was still charged for the second day of my stay. This property appears to recently been renovated, and essentially an empty room was sectioned off into individual rooms with very thin walls.
3.8
The staff was wonderful but the property needs work. Very dingy.

This is one of the most- if ni the most- economic hotels in OSJ; therefore, don't expect a 5 star hotel. However, it represents a good deal for what you pay. I strongly recommend it.

Booked this to stay overnight coming and going for a cruise. Absolutely walkable even with our luggage to the dock. The gentleman at the front was accommodating and let us stow our stuff when we got there early. Unfortunately for some reason there were some guests who were essentially refusing to leave on time and left the premises in such a state that it was several hours before we could check in. The man was clearly embarrassed and couldn’t have been more apologetic. He offered us a no charge late stay the next day. We declined because our flight was early but he attempted to make it right and that’s appreciated. We were very understanding, yet tired so we opted to grab dinner he gave us a lovely recommendation for a close by restaurant. Came back, slept and grabbed an Uber in the morning. It was clean, quiet, safe and close to the departure for our cruise. Checked all our boxes.

Super safe building close to all the happenings in San Juan. I stayed here before my Virgin Voyage.

Great staff at check in. Very friendly personnel.

It is an old hotel in Old San Juan. The location is excellent! The hotel was very basic with a bed, a fridge and a closet. Very old and needs a good upgrade. The sink in the bathroom broke and the guy from the front desk came and looked at it but that was it...nobody came to fix it. Also the air conditioning never stops. It was cold and we were not the only ones complaining about it.
The most upsetting part was that our room didn't have a window. When we went to the front desk to ask for a room with a window we were told that in San Juan the hotels don't have windows...you specifically have to ask for a room with a window. I had no idea that there are hotels without windows. In the end after a lot of insisting we got a room with a window. So when you book a room in any San Juan hotel and if you really need a window you have to ask for one! It was a first for us!
I would only recommend this hotel just for the location.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Had some problem finding place as cab dropped us off in wrong street, but desk clerk was able to help us find it.

This hotel is an excellent option: affordable, vary centric, with outstanding amenities. This is the best low-price hotel in San Juan.

Great location

The room was extremely cold it was not a thermostat in room to control the temperature i woke up sick because it was so cold in the room.

Property is EXTREMELY DATED in need of major renovations. Location is excellent! Overall, I didn’t feel safe staying at the property !

Good location

The hotel is centrally located in Old San Juan - next to anything you would want. The people were excellent. The room was comfortable and clean with a refrigerator. The table and sofa were worn but again clean and comfortable. The bed was not worn and was very comfortable as well.
Nice hot shower with good water pressure. Would stay here again.
Good restaurants where the locals eat as well just around the corner.

Loved the location of this place and the helpful staff. Our room was fine but the aircon was very cold. They tried to fix and there was some improvement but it didn’t last. We weren’t able to adjust ourselves. That’s the only downside.

The hotel was decent but very old. The girl at the reception I believe her name was Vinccenza was a sweetheart and very accommodating. Initially when I got the room assigned I had to go back and ask to switch the room as it was in the corner and very dark with minimal light. I shared with her that I’m too claustrophobic and right away she moved me to a better room with brighter windows. The only drawback I felt was there is no thermostat in the rooms to control the temperature. The hotel sets the temperature for the entire hotel. Unfortunately it was hot for me to stay there during my 4 nights stay. I got a portable fan from a friend to use during my stay there. Also they advertise coffee/pastries but it’s just coffee but you have to go after 9am to get it as they don’t brew it before that. A little odd but that’s the only two things I can say were negative about the place. Room service was great and they were great with change of towels and making the bed everyday. Overall a decent place to stay for a lower price compared to other places nearby. It is definitely centrally located in old San Juan.
3.8
The room is small and my lone window faced a crumbling wall. The hotel is clearly pretty dated. If you are looking for bare bones accommodations in the heart of old San Juan, one night is perfectly fine.
Staff is friendly and check-in/out was fast and easy.

Stayed here one night, prior to our cruise. Great location in the old city. But a tired hotel with stained carpets, etc. The worst aspect was there was no control for the air conditioning ('central air' but no thermostat in the rooms). We had an interior room with no window and a constant flow of cold air, making the room feel more like an icebox. They provided us with extra blankets (which helped) and we wore toques to sleep!
3.8
Great location and value. Staff was very friendly.

Quiet, centralized, nice staff, it was a great experience.

This is a nice little hotel. The rooms are inexpensive compared to many in the area (it is a tourist destination) and the location is fantastic for walking around Old San Juan. The hotel was a little hard to find as the entrance is nondescript, but we eventually sorted that out. If you have a car you need to park elsewhere - we used La Puntilla parking lot less than a 10 minute walk away for $3 a day - as there is no chance of finding street parking. The hotel is a great place if you are looking for a base to explore the area, but is not a 'destination' in and of itself. There are no sweeping views of the coast, and no in house dining - if that's what you're looking for then this is not for you. The best part of this hotel is the staff. Cristobal at the desk is possibly the nicest and most helpful man you'll ever meet, and is a wealth of information on what's good in the area. If I return to PR I'll stay here again.

Staff ver accommodating

Location is great - close to shops and restaurants. Hotel is minimal - you get a small room and small bathroom. No extra or frills. The front desk is staffed 7X24 which made a big difference coming in very late. No Wifi or breakfast provided. Staff was very willing to hold our luggage after checkout.
Room was clean, but carpet could have been better vacuumed. One towel per person and single hand towel - no washcloth and no Kleenex.
Location was a bit of a challenge to find but was quiet and had a working elevator.
