The staff and the grounds are amazing, with an almost private beech in front of resort and an even more private beech a few minutes walk away. The road in is rough and it is at least 30 minutes drive to the nearest store. Sadly the resort no longer operates a bar or sells alcohol so you must BYO or walk 10 minutes to the Barefoot Resort. Breakfast and dinner excellent and good value for Fiji. Would stay again but bring more supplies.

We stayed one night and it was lovely. The road there was horrendous but it was worth it for the isolation it created. Very small and minimal in set up but worth the trek. Not we’d stay too long there again due to the isolation but it was perfect for our overall holiday in Fiji.

The service and accommodation is good but the transportation is not easy and there are a lot of mosquitoes

The pool villa was fantastic. The staff were super friendly. The beach has pure white sand. Eating a coconut straight off the tree was something to remember.

Recently stayed for two weeks The resort feels like it was built 20 years ago and nothing had been done since. It’s undeniably in a beautiful surrounding with a small village next door but definitely out of town. Great for a pool side only holiday but food could do with some variety Still enjoyed our time away felt very peaceful

Very private and peaceful! Talica and the staff were so helpful and friendly. You could not have a more welcoming and hospitable staff at a resort like this. I loved how private and quiet the beach is and it is so beautiful!Yes the decking around the pool may need some work done but the pool is still great. The food was lovely as well.I booked in a massage by Mary at the nearby village. She has a little beach bure at the village for it and I felt so relaxed afterwards. Just a caution for those wanting to book here, if you're taking a vehicle, you may need a car/ute that doesn't ride so low. The road can be a bit rough.

On the plus side this is a great location and the place is very clean, plus food was good. The staff were friendly but could have been more attentive, and too much loud music spoiled the atmosphere ( this was more for the staff than the customers). The resort needs some maintenance, particularly the deck around the pool which is a safety risk it is so rotten. We wouldn’t bother going back.

Service and staff were excellent, great quiet resort away from the large hotels. Food was top class, however some parts of the resort are looking tired. eg: Pool decking, path lighting , and the dirt road in ( would be a challenge in the rain.)

Amazing hideaway in the Fijian jungle with lovely staff and hospitality. The units could have done with a little sprucing up though, but was comfortable and enjoyable.

This was the 3rd time that we had stayed at the Wellesley. It is the perfect place to just sit, relax and unwind and start our holiday off. It is a hidden paradise, with a tropical atmosphere. It is a bit out of the way from the hustle and bustle, but if you are just after some peace and quiet, this is the place to go. We last visited the Wellesley about 4 years ago and on our last visit it needed a lot of TLC and repairs and therefore we had decided not to return. When looking on the internet, we saw a lot of improvements had been made and some rooms even had their own plunge pools, so we decided to give it a go once again. We were not disappointed and learnt that it now has new management. The food was beautiful and the staff very helpful and friendly. Congratulations to all involved for improving this little piece of paradise in Fiji.

The staff were great and made a big effort to make your stay perfect for you. Friendly and warm people who seemed too very much enjoy their jobs. Loved being able to walk down to the beach swim and snorkel straight from the resort. Spectacular snorkelling at such a short distance offshore.

This resort is very quiet with only 16 rooms and not next to any other establishments. It’s a 2 hour drive from the airport - I suggest sticking near Port Denaurau to get the most of your holiday and if you like a bit more of a social scene. The resort does offer free airport pick-ups, but they were 45min late which made us nervous. The driver was very nice though and the car was comfortable. Rooms are large and comfortable with A/C and loved the outdoor shower. Wi-go doesn’t reach the rooms, but is good in the common areas. Food was amazing every single meal. Kayaks are a bit sketchy... pool is a bit dated. Recommend going on the hill walk through the village. Instead of paying $75 pp for return transport to airport, consider taking the express bus (nice charter bus) from the main road ($10 one way) - hotel will organize drop-off for you (3min drive)

Wellesley Resort is delightful - it is out of the way, private, quiet and beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and well set out. The staff were attentive and friendly. With a short walk to the beach where you can snorkel among the colourful tropical fish, its just the place for having a much needed rest from the busy-ness of life.

We needed a quick sunny getaway which we booked last minute. We found a gem in Wellesley Resort. It was quiet, out of the way and very relaxing. The property needs a little attention, especially the decking around the pool and beachfront but overall it's a wonderful place to relax.
The highlight of our stay was the staff at the resort. What a wonderful group of people. Very welcoming and friendly. Mere, the Manager made us feel at home from the start. Then we met the smiling faces of the lovely Mereani and Sekove (Scobie) the wonderful bar and restaurant staff, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Naca and Raj cooked up a storm all week and produced lovely local and international dishes. Mili was the ever smiling housekeeper (helped by Scobie when he wasn't tending bar!) We can't forget Sabir, the always grinning and chatty grounds keeper. Then there was Ratu Sela, the Chief, who ended up being our driver on many an occasion and was a man of much wisdom and humour. It was a pleasure to meet you all, you make the Wellesley Resort a place of rest and relaxation. Vinaka vaka levu. Louise & Stu

Great location! Beach is beautiful & snorkelling was fantastic. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Facilities were a let down, need other things to do other than just beach or pool.

The resort is calm and quiet perfect for relaxing. We had a bit of trouble connecting to the WiFi as our phones would not work but the staff were more than happy to help. If you are prone to being bitten by mosquitoes then make sure you take some very strong spray as we had 2 very good sprays and I still walked away with a lot of bites!

Had a great three-day stay here. While the weather didn't cooperate (cyclone hit on our second day) we still enjoyed the services of the friendly staff and the comfort of our room. The room was huge with a seating area, soft bed, fridge, large sink area and bathroom. While some areas of the room showed their age and the effects of tropical weather it was very comfortable and relaxing. The meals we had at the restaurant were all fantastic and prices were very reasonable. There's a nice big pool with comfy loungers and another lounging area down at the beach. There's nowhere close to walk as far as shops and such so bring your own snacks if you want. Really loved this place.

The most amazing location - tucked away in the midst of hilly rainforest splendour. Food was fab (Eggs Bene are a must have), staff friendly & smiling. Room facilities were a little tired but clean, comfortable & serviced every day & the pool & surrounding gardens are tropical tranquil at its best. We hired a car to explore surrounding areas but ended up spending the entire week relaxing in the resort. A lovely stay.

We had an amazing time at the Wellesley. Couldn't fault it. The rooms were stunning - we got a tour through all of them as we are going to use this resort for our wedding. They are so well priced! The food was super, the staff were so attentive. They were so kind and caring. We loved lounging by the huge pool and bobbing up and down in the crystal clear lagoon. Evening cocktails on the beach bar deck were so romantic. We can't wait to come back

- to get there from Nadi airport we took an airport taxi for 150FD as we thought this cheaper than the hotel offered service (160FD), which was about 2.5-3 hours long because unfortunately our taxi driver got lost- track to the resort from the main road ~5-10 minute careful drive as quite rough, both our taxi drivers complained bitterly about this- secluded spot - absolutely beautiful scenery - lush forests, palm and coconut trees, colourful flowers, with a beautiful clean pool, sun loungers, short stroll to the beach- our room was an executive suite, which was comfortable, well equipped and clean, served our purposes perfectly- food was delicious - good range offered considering the small kitchen, with a lot of fresh fruit and Fijian produce. Several couples, including us, became unwell with D+V (I suspect a virus rather than unhygienic food prep)- some activities offered - one kayak had missing paddle so only one useable, reasonable snorkelling gear, swimming, organised walks from the gardener Sabir - hill top walk with views, Mangrove walk, coconut tasting etc- You can go along the beach 5 minutes to Crusoe resort to organise scuba diving and on the way encounter the local village with a shop of souvenirs and locals who will organise half day trips to a nearby waterfall, village tours, meals and snacks - very friendly people who are making the most of tourist trade which seems reasonable to me - but be aware you may spend more than the experience is worth
