There are very few places that can truly be rated 5 star. For us, five star means, beautiful grounds, peaceful, clean, and safe location, and helpful staff. During our stay, Kuychi Rumi earned this highest rated due to the fantastic rooms, room service, and their prompt manager Johan. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure we felt at home. After all, how often do you get your refrigerator stocked the previous night just because you have to leave at 5 am the next morning? Most hotel staff wouldnt care. But Johan does :-)On our first morning, Johan took us on a 30-minute walk around the town and telling us so many things about the Peruvian rural life. In a country where finding English speaking people in rural areas is difficult, this proved to be a great introduction to the culture. As for the room itself, it is fabulous. Lovely gardens, butterflies, flowers blooming, a nice patio, and a fireplace in the room that Johan helps to start. Location is convenient, with a dollar and 10 minutes away from the main market. I highly recommend Kuychi Rumi.

We stayed one night before travelling to Machu Pichu. Urubamba is very convenient for this purpose. Our cottage was ample and cozy, amid beautiful vegetation.

Great place, cozy, private, fireplace and a beautiful path of flowers. The owners and staff are incredible, friendly and eager to help. They gave us good recommendations about restaurants, ruins to visit, and markets. It is central to all the sacred valley. Delicious breakfast! We will come back to this place in the future.

Amazing place! We stayed in a beautiful house surrounded by gorgeous gardens and privacy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Johan help us with guidance and he recommended great restaurants. He is bilingual (English-Spanish), that help us a lot. We share a beautiful hiking with him, it was our favorite. The owners are also an amazing couple and they were all the time helping us and guiding us through different routes. The place was clean, cozy, we feel at home. Delicious breakfast... we missed the quinoa with yogurt, delicious. We recommend this place to everybody, we have told friends to go there and we are hoping to come back soon. it is close to all ruins, you are close to excellent restaurants, markets, money exchange offices, and taxis. It is the place to go!

The four (2 adult sons and us parents) of us stayed there for 8 days (actually wished we had stayed one day longer). Not only is it a beautifully comfortable place, the managing couple, Carlos and Tuanet, are absolute jewels. They made us feel so at home, were incredibly helpful, loving, accommodating, friendly. They will be friends for life :-) The bungalows are great and completely outfitted. Some nights we were too tired to go out and Tuanet and Carlos cooked us delicious meals, delivered to our bungalow. Julio would start a fire in our intriguingly artsy fire place. We had a bonfire on the grounds; musical talents singing and playing the guitars. Another night we had a BBQ on the grounds. On a side note: Urubamba is the best central location to go visit Chinchero, Ollaytantambo, Cusco, Pisac. Affordable guides, taxis, collectivos will get you anywhere easily.
