The location is near some great restaurants and cafes. Subway accessible - a short walk. I was surprised at how quiet it was and easy to fall asleep. Room and gym very clean.

Was there for a concert and stayed two nights. Always pleased with our room and the front desk.

The room we booked was for four people. The beds were tiny. They were supposed to be queen sized but they were definitely not even full size beds. They also were very hard mattresses so no one slept at all.

Good location, very friendly and accommodating staff (no hassle with a late checkout, etc.). The rooms have wood floors. The price is right and even though they don't have room service its NYC and everyone has Uber Eats.

There are lots of amenities in the area. Close to little italy and chinatown, yet still in the heart of the lower east side. Hotel was nice. It was a bit dated but clean. Typical nyc hotel room, small. Had a room with a balcony, which was intetesting to hear all the sounds and see the sights of daily life in nyc.

Great place to stay in the Lower East Side. The area immediately around the property is rundown and there’s quite a bit of trash all over the streets surrounding. The city could do wonders by picking up trash more often and not allowing people to dump trash out all over the place to pick through and collect cans/bottles. The hotel itself was lovely and the staff were great.

Very nice small hotel and would stay again.

So upon booking for my hotel stay I did my research and noted a couple things before hand upon purchasing the room. With that in mind I got to the location and was pleasantly surprised it was really standard issue amenities. Some was not working properly but overall it was a wonderful stay 8.5 outta 10 would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at the Allen Hotel. The room was accommodating and clean. The view and proximity to the city was unbearable. I would definitely stay again.

Although conveniently located, the block immediately in front of the hotel felt quite rundown and somewhat unsafe, particularly at night

Staff were super friendly. The room was very clean and the balcony and extra toothpaste and shaving cream etc were hugely appreciated. Great price and service and the beds were super comfortable.

I’ve stayed her many times over the years and will keep coming back. It’s not fancy but it is good value for money in a great area. The rooms are all clean, comfortable and reasonably priced for NYC and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The location of the hotel may not work for some as the area is not glamorous. But the subway stations are nearby, and it was not an issue for me. I also felt safe.

CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. We were more than pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room. We slept soundly in the well air conditioned space on a very comfortable king bed. The bathroom was well appointed with toiletries, and the shower pressure was great. The front desk staff were very kind, professional, and accommodating!

When booking, I did the option reserve now and pay at the hotel. I was messaged via expedia the morning off before arriving asking to pay before arriving, stated due to “scam” The front desk was not as friendly. She didn’t even advise me check out time when checking in. There was only one young boy with curly hair who was nice. No where on the expedia link did it state a deposit was needed. She told me she needed a “incident fee of $150” with no explanation just asked for a card. Housekeeping only cleaned my room once out of the 3 nights there. The room was decent and balcony was a nice addition. Before checking out i ran to get breakfast around the corner . The house keepers were asking me if i was going to take my stuff. Check out felt rushed really felt uncomfortable. Lower east side was fun good area for bars and food. hotel experience here wasnt the best

I'm always auditioning NY hotels when I visit the city, and this is my new favorite! Rooms are small of course, like all NY hotels, but clean and beautiful. Really lovely all wood furniture, nice bathroom, my room had a balcony. Plus every room has a fridge which is also hard to find in relatively inexpensive NY hotels. It's also just a beautiful place - lobby is very pretty. I come to NY for great food and drink so the area is perfect for me, and has easy transport to visit folks in Brooklyn, or around Manhattan.

The room was very small (even for nyc standards) and outdated. We could deal with that but the bathroom smelled of strong urine - like a men’s bathroom strong smell. Needs a deep clean. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Stayed 4 nights and really loved it. Very comfortable bed, cute little balcony that looked out onto the city. All the staff I interacted with were very nice and polite. A couple nice and private rooftop areas with awesome views. It’s in a very convenient location. So much to do in walking distance but also very close to trains to other parts of the city. I will definitely stay here on my future visits to Manhattan.

Small boutique hotel in very good condition. Convenient to family.

Room was small but extremely clean and service staff very friendly and helpful. The location is incredible and the gym is spacious and well equipped unlike most hotels. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Just an all around wonderful experience! Far exceeded "5" Star hotels I have stayed in, and look forward to coming back again!

We stayed here because we had a baby with us and wanted a separate area to hang out with our friends while she was sleeping. We were blown away at how big the penthouse room was for the price. A massive balcony, 2 bathrooms, a large living area, and a big bedroom. Very impressive location as well.

Wonderful staff were able to help with an early check-in and even made sure our belongings were safe so we could grab breakfast before the flight.

The Allen Hotel is a fine piece of architecture. The interior is well appointed. There is no on site dining option as that closed during the lock downs and never reopened. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a exercise room on the lower level with sufficient equipment and a dry sauna and separate steam room. I did not use the saunas so can’t comment on them although the facility was clean.
Our room had a balcony over looking Allen Street, the only concern i had with it was the easy access from other areas.
The front staff were the only folks i dealt with and were a pleasure to have met.
The hotel is situated in the Bowel-ry, but it holds its own and we stayed without incident on site but beyond its lovely confines is another story.

Hotel needs deep cleaning. Staff was very nice though. Room is small. Good restaurants and bars close by.

The Allen was the perfect location for our needs at a reasonable price (by booking early—trying to add on an extra night later was triple the price. So we had to find other arrangements) the only problem we had was that our key card deactivated from being kept in a wallet next to a credit card. Nothing was said about avoiding this at check-in. It resulted in being stuck in the elevator, which could not operate and no one answered when we tried to call the front desk. Eventually, someone else got on the elevator and we got out. The room was a balcony view king. There is also a view from the rooftop, which was nice. It’s a small space but has plenty of storage so you can still walk around. There are about 20 drawers (3 under each side of the bed, more in the night stand, armoire, desk, luggage stand, etc.) The place felt secure. If you have young kids, know that there is lots of weed aroma in the neighborhood due to nearby stores, but that aroma is all over Manhattan these days. Cleaning staff was very helpful and responsive. However, sauna was out of order.

I cannot believe what I paid for this hotel room. First of all the entire hotel is rundown and just weird. Secondly, we were given a room on the first floor, which is right above the lobby and when you walk in the opposite wall to the front door is all mirrors. There are no windows except upon closer inspection. There’s a little crank opening and when you open that you’re looking into the storage closet. I’m not even kidding about this. I went back and asked the front desk if anything could be done and she said there were no rooms available and at this point it was 130 and we would’ve had to wait for an hour and a half, and we really needed to take a nap before we went out for the evening. So we made the best of it, but it’s just a horrible accommodation.

Great staff and service. Professional and courteous.

It started off rough when they put me in a room on the first floor with no wind windows and next to a very loud lobby. Once they move me upstairs, it was great.
