Comfortable room but very small. Ok for one night. Think other rooms may be bigger. Spotlessly clean. Food very good in restaurant. Friendly staff
3.0
Great location and reasonably priced. I received a warm Welcome on arrival and shown to my room. The room had everything I needed for a one night stay. I didn’t know that breakfast was an option as it wasn’t advertised when I booked. My only issue was the radiator - it was churning a lot of heat out constantly. The thermostatic valve was on the side next to the radiator so there was no way to turn the heat down or off. Despite opening both (small) windows and using the fan overnight it was like a sauna which made it very uncomfortable.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Lamb and Flag The best part is that it is a way from everything but very easy for hiking/trekking/rambling.

Another lovely stay here before our festival up the mountain at Ebbw Vale. Lovely food and everyone was very friendly. A great base for the beautiful surrounding areas.

The Lamb and Flag offered very good value for money. It has great views of the local hills and is a well run premise within walking distance of delightful Abergavenny but far away to be peaceful.

We were very happy with the cleanliness of our room and the bed was comfortable. We did find the room to be small for a double though, with no room for a side table on one side of the bed, it felt crowded with two people.
Good breakfast. Welcoming and friendly staff.

Amazing the hosts and their team were friendly and hekpful. We stayed in a lovely clean room tbat was spacious and had a juliet balcony. We ate Breakfast and the Sunday Lunch here and could not have wished for a better meal. Excellent service all round. We will be returning for a longer break next time.

Room was small/compact. No biscuits on hospitality tray. Have never seen such poor quality toilet paper - small sized sheets of loo paper, too. A hair on the sink.

Staff delightful and helpful.
Bedroom tiny but clean.
Food at dinner felt microwaved

room (no.3) was cramped and had an awkward layout.
eg. tv on a side wall so you could not sit in front of it, no bedside cabinet on one side no access to juliet balcony

We had an enjoyable stay at the Lamb & Flag . The hotel is in an extremely scenic location and convenient for Abergavenny. The staff were polite and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable 👌

At check in asked if i wanted breakfast. Said yes, and was advised that breakfast was from 8am. Later than evening, confirmed with bar staff that breakfast was from 8am.
8.00am - all doors locked and no staff to be seen.
8.10am - all doors locked and no staff to be seen.
8.20 am -all doors locked and no staff to be seen.
You get the idea. .. so gave up and caught a train.
Oh and no-one around to do a checkout (obviously).

Comfortable and easy access into Abergavenny. Good food and reasonably priced. Super friendly staff. Have stayed before and will stay again. Recommended.

Staff were friendly enough booked bed and breakfast unfortunately they don’t start breakfast until 8:30 which is no use to someone working, there was no offer of a refund for missing breakfast so had part of my payment under false pretence

We were made very welcome upon check in, the room was warm and cozy. We also ate in the restaurant which was very tasty, however the breakfast was amazing, the nicest omelette I think I have ever eaten. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here again. Extremely friendly staff and very tasty food :)

We only stayed one night but it was great. We arrived early and the friendly staff member took our bags off us and said she would take them up to our room as soon as it was ready as we were off to the Green Man Festival. Room was one of only five which was perfectly adequate for our needs. Comfy bed and nice shower. Breakfast was extra but plenty of choice and good value for money.

The service provided at the bar for check-in was absolutely fine. The room less so & in hindsight we should have asked to be moved. The weather was hot, and the room oppressively hot at night, even with open windows. Why is there a window restriction when you can only fall a few feet from #4? The windows were also closed on arrival which was poor re: comfort but also for Covid, given it's summer. It's even possible we contracted Covid from the room, as a couple of days later we tested positive and a holiday ruined. Why not have the windows open in summer? Some surfaces for putting clothing on were dusty too, so cleaning not the best. Didn't look be any emphasis on the climate emergency that I noticed. Otherwise, excellent, great place for a beer out front, a short walk from wonderful Abergavenny and the Beacon hills & canals.

Staff were lovely. Room was good but bathroom floor was dirty.
