Excellent, worth the money! Breakfast so so for the price you pay.

Absolutely beautiful resort but very little English spoken. Restaurant service was exceptionally poor and food was of very basic quality. The scallops were overcooked to the point they couldn’t even be scraped off the shell and that was after a 1.25hour wait for our meals with only 10 people in the restaurant. The wait at the beach bar was at least 30min each time as the staff were more concerned with their phones and talking to each other rather than serving customers.

Perfect day, great Hotel. Great room.

There isn't enough space to write a review of this place, but if this is the only bit you read then stay away or expect disappointment.
Check-in: We paid a deposit so we could charge services to our room. Throughout our stay we had problems & the majority of employees didn't believe us or made us go to the hotel lobby to fix it. We had several problems with our room, no warm water & we had to wait for the service guy & be stuck in our room for 2h before it was done. It was never properly fixed and the employees insisted that it would heat up after running it for a while. It did not. I would expect that either we would be moved to another room or that we would get some small compensation for having to sit around waiting for a fix. After writing a review of the check-in they finally reacted and gave us an upgrade to a bigger room, this was when they also noticed that i had previously written that it was our honeymoon & they actually did something special. So kudos for that.
The service: I have never experienced such incompetence. Everytime we would go eat or have a drink we would need to ask for cutlery, plates or napkins even when it was empty and 7-10 waiters would be idle.
Microtransactions hell: As a hotel guest you have to pay for beach chairs, towels and the water had 4 different prices depending on where in the resort you bought it.
Not non-smoking! All over it states that you aren't allowed to smoke on the premise & rooms. They have ash trays on tables & balcony

We had to families in 2 different rooms in Tower 2 (the best one). We had a 2-bedroom suite on the 15th floor facing the ocean. It was very spacious and generally clean. However we found a group of tiny ant-like bugs in one of the room’s closet. Housekeeping came to clean them out. The next morning, there was another group of any-like bugs on a bed. Housekeeper Ng came immediately to change the bedding. Everything was fine after.
The staff’s English proficiency is not very good. The front desk had about 4 ppl but only one girl had slightly better English. The other 3 attendants were standing around listening. The bell boys also had some confusion with our luggages.
The resort in general has a good view and is in a good location. There is a nice hiking trail beside the resort.

Excellent staff. Great room. Beach area gets very crowded in the morning and evening, but otherwise a great place and easy walk into town

The outdoor pool on the first floor at the second building is a quite dangerous with the level of steep steps instead of stairs. I fell a few times trying to find where the next step is. Also in the pool made out of the little stone is sharp, my knee got scraped on it and I was hurt and was bleeding.

Overall it was a nice property. We were however asked if we were guests at the hotel by hotel security while sitting on beach chairs near the pool. Security requested our room card as proof, which we provided. There were several other guests sitting by us and security didn’t seem to care about their status. We assumed it was because we were white and not Korean, like most guests at the hotel. Overall, it was an awkward and uncomfortable situation.

Overall the disappointing points of this property are how busy it is, the scenery is remarkable and we booked this part of our stay to be our relaxation and the quiet time and yet the hotel is loud. There apparently is 5,000 guests pretty much always fully booked across the 3 hotels which are all interconnecting so everywhere is very busy. Sometimes you could be waiting 5-10 minutes just for a lift to come. It is impossible to relax in peace, there is always loud music. The other guests also worsened our stay, children going along ringing doorbells at night and shouting in the corridors right through into the early hours.
Check in: very noisy in the reception, difficult to hear receptionists. They ask for 1 million dong per day so that you can charge things to the room. Otherwise, you obviously pay for everything up front which is ok. But they don’t allow any debit cards, just be credit.
Food: is expensive at the hotel. Just the buffet for lunch on Sunday we were told would be 550,000 VND or more each. We had the buffet breakfast included which was satisfactory, the bacon was poor quality and poorly cooked.
Lan Ha Bay Restuarant was good, we thought reasonable value for money. Our meal there came to just under 1 million dong sharing a starter and having 2 mains including steak. So potentially not a dissimilar price to the buffet!
The beds are very firm too so was not the easiest to sleep.

3 big hotels in one massiv komplex. Couple of floors re empty so you walk through a massive empty building.
Nice rooms but the doors are not soundproof so you hear everything. The music in the floors playing from 6 am to 10 pm and it’s really loud.

The hotel was situated in a secluded area, separated from the rest of the town. The staff members were exceptional - they treated me like family. Every single person, from the employees on the 17th-floor bar to those at the front desk, was incredibly sweet, well-mannered, polite, and helpful. I had such a great experience that I can't wait to go back, and next time, I plan to bring along even more friends.

This is a nice property with large clean rooms and it's own beach. However I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing time. We had an ocean view room so we were facing the beach. Children could be heard playing on the beach from 6AM -11PM, and on Sunday the beach bar was playing loud music at 8AM. There was also often children making noise in the hallways. We also had a bad meal at the only a la carte restaurant on the property. It was as if they served us leftover buffet food for steakhouse prices. The breakfast buffet was fairly good though however. To me, staying near the ocean should be relaxing and calming, which is not what you get here, so I would not come back.

Very good family place, kids camp was excellent, beach is terrible, buffet breakfast good, fridge. Didn’t work and they never fixed it. Good stay overall though.

Lovely resort in an amazing location, the view is simply spectacular! Easy check in and check out, the double room was very comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner buffets had plenty of local and international options. Although I understand about an additional cost for alcoholic or soft drinks, they could at least offer free water during the dinner buffet. I highly recommend a stay at this relaxing beach resort.

The facilities are clean and extravagant. Everything was great - the food, service, staff, pool, room. No fault to the hotel but we went in December and could not make use of the outdoor pools and beach. A few of the restaurants were closed, perhaps because it was off season, so the there was only two restaurant choices for lunch. I’m sure it’s more lively and offers more services in peak seasons

Furthermore, while the rooms were spacious and clean, they lacked proper soundproofing. We could hear every little sound from the neighboring room, which made it quite difficult to get a good night's sleep.
However, on the positive note, the pool at the resort was very clean and well-maintained, and there were plenty of sun loungers
Overall, I have mixed feelings about my experience at Flamingo Cat Ba resort. While there were certainly some positive aspects, there were also areas that could use improvement, such as the cleanliness of the beach and the soundproofing in the rooms. If you're looking for a hotel surrounded by greenery and don't mind some of the minor inconveniences, this could be a good choice. However, if you're looking for a more luxurious experience, you may want to look elsewhere.

Beach front location great, but it was a public beach.
Very large resort suited to large groups, we stayed out of season but meal times were very busy.
Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony. However the shower over the bath flooded the bathroom, very small toiletries were available & not replaced.
The resort is vast with very little atmosphere with the sky bar being very soulless.

The best resort I have ever been to! The pictures do not do it justice. This place is amazing and the staff is so kind! So worth it! Go if you have the chance. The hospitality is next to none!

This place exceeded our expectations. By far the best place we have stayed in Vietnam.

Me and my family stayed here for two nights three days during the golden week holidays. The location is absolutely stunning and we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was very comfortable and we had a wonderful view on the ocean. Facilities overall were very good and the massage was one in the best I’ve had in my life. The morning buffet is very good and the evening dinner buffet was all right. It was a very mixed crowd between retirees families with young children and single travelers. The remoteness of the hotel made this feel rather exclusive and comfortable away from the crowd. However, for those who want to enjoy a little bit more animation the small town is literally around the corner. Overall, it’s a great resort and perfect for a few days of relaxation.

My check in experience was atrocious. We had the previous night booked and didn’t arrive until the morning. The check in attendant insisted we could not check in until 3pm even though we had paid for the previous night. It took over an hour to convince the staff and get us into our room.
The hotel itself is beautiful. It is a huge resort without resort like activities. Water park closed, no beach volleyball. There was Paddle boarding, but at 5am? Everything except the beautiful pools was extra $. Karaoke $ kayaks $ games room $
Don’t waste your time on the complimentary foot spa. They sit you in a chair and stick your feet in a tiny bucket…and that’s it.
Overall, the experience at Flamingo Bay left me wanting more out of a resort that had potential.

My family had a great day here for four days.
I used to ride an electric car a little far from the Catba city, but it was quiet and the excellent Halong bay view.
So thanks for good service and all staffs in Flamingo hotel.
I want to stay back later.

Beautiful location with very nice beaches. The buffet breakfast was good and included with our room. However had lunch there and was overpriced for the area but expected for a resort. Staff seemed a bit disconnected with their jobs and communication was difficult compared to other places we stayed in Vietnam.

Beautiful place, but very little was open on site when we were there. The hotel also lacked options, such as shuttle, tours, dining options were closed.

Excellent service from the staff at all levels. The hotel was clean and our room overlooking the beach was fabulous. The breakfast choice was great and catered for all.

they let me check in earlier and were very enthusiastic
