Location

We had 5 adults staying at Misty Manor and we all agreed that it was lovely! The kitchen area and the common areas were very spacious. We appreciated having enough seating at the table for all of us. The MBR bed and the Q bed were particularly comfortable. There could be some upgrades in the kitchen for pans and mixing bowls. And, some upgrades in the outdoor seating would be helpful. The area was very quiet and felt safe. The driveway is very steep and there is a bit of a hill to get to the front steps. It is a little bit of a drive to get downtown or to the Biltmore but very doable and we knew that when we rented this place.

Wanted to be close to Asheville yet feel like i'm a million miles away. This was the perfect location as this home is in a private area at the end of a private street giving total seclusion and peace and quiet. town is a few minutes away and candler has had some great local options as well. Try Martinelli's pizza and Doc Brown's BBQ. all a few minutes away.

Perfect location and comfortable, clean house that was well stocked for cooking and staying warm!

Took a long weekend for my birthday. I’ve wanted to see the Biltmore for ages & happy to see it decked out for the holidays.
The house was a great location & we enjoyed the privacy. We would definitely use this rental again if we come that way again.

The home was cozy and a great place for our kiddo and dogs. The hot tub water level was very low when we arrived, but we added some water with the hose, which wasn't a big deal. The sliding glass door definitely needs some WD-40 - it was difficult to open. The frig wasn't working properly, so we ended up needing to leave a day early, but the host was very responsive, apologetic, and credited us the night and covered the cost of some of our dairy foods that I wasn't sure were okay to serve. So, I appreciated that very much, and I think that goes a long way in terms of working with a great host who does the right thing to handle things that aren't anyone's fault. Part of home ownership! We would stay here again.

Beautiful property! Close to amenities but far enough off the main road to give you the true mountain getaway feeling. House was very clean and the hot tub was amazing after a long day of sightseeing! Will definitely return for another trip!

This property is so much bigger than the pictures show. It was absolutely pristine and easy to find . Lovely furnishings and comfy beds, 2 huge bathrooms and a great kitchen. Its on a hill, so not a huge usable yard but the flat place they have fenced in around the back is just perfect. Quiet but not too far out in the country. We so enjoyed our stay!

Part of our family stayed here for a birthday weekend. We didn't spend much time at the house, but it was just what we needed. There was plenty of room and nice furnishings. Check-in was easy, and the host was very communicative.

Everything is as advertised for this home. I was impressed by the cleanliness and the comfort level of the beds! There is a small view of the mountains beyond the trees from a living room window and the backyard. We found plenty of things to do within 30 minutes. The views on the drive to and from the home are breathtaking. I am very grateful to the responsive host for being overly accommodating with our needs!

Felt like a real mountain retreat. Only sounds to be heard were birds and livestock in the distance. Would definitely visit again. Check out process was also very easy, with very little responsibility placed on the guests beyond a request to run the dishwasher and toss used towels into the shower.

My friends and I came for the weekend for a golf trip/bach party. Place was great and about 25-30 mins from everywhere we wanted to go to. Highly recommend staying here!

Clean home, many thoughtful touches, easy and manageable checkout instructions, quiet and peaceful area, manageable drive to places (within 25-35 minutes)…I would try to arrive before dark as the roads leading up to the house are narrow and windy, but not hard.

Excellent property and amenities thoroughly enjoyed by our family and dogs - a vacation for all! Plenty of space inside as well as the fenced in backyard. Location is private and provides easy access to Asheville, The Biltmore, trails, Black Mountain and even to the freeway to the Gatlinburg area. Thank you for your hospitality.

The house is very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed (and more) to cook with, loved the grill and sitting around the fire table in the evenings. The hot tub under the stars and the peace and quite was exactly what we needed. We loved the quick ride to downtown Asheville.
We will stay here again and definitely recommend the house.

We had such a lovely time is on this property! The little touches that the property owner gave us really made this stay special. A well stocked kitchen, fire place, extra towels, board games, and comfy beds. A lovely mountain weekend with friends at this private and beautiful home.

EXTREMELY hard
The house was very clean but the WIFI and internet connections were impossible and the main phone line drops dead every time there is a storm which for us was every day! We had a family emergency and couldn’t reach the local hospital! It’s great if you want a remote home and to be secluded. We left a day early due to lack of cell service.

The house is absolutely lovely! It has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful getaway. The property is truly wonderful if you're traveling with your fur babies. Stayed with my adult children and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We enjoyed the hot tub, grill and fenced-in area for the dogs. The mountain view was so nice and there's no traffic since the property is at the end of a lane. We found waterfalls, swimming holes & mountains to explore & made many new vacation memories.

The hosts put a lot of thought and love in this house. It was very well stocked, spices, coffee filters, many extra towels, blankets, and pillows, trash bags, toilet paper and even a hair dryer. The outside has great views and the fire pit and hot tub were awesome!! It's very private and the light strands that can change color strung up over the hot tub really added to the outdoor ambience! We would definitely recommend and we would rent again!

Great stay for families, excellent location
Our whole experience was amazing starting at booking - communication was excellent and very responsive. The drive up to the house was a beautiful winding road past farms full of animals for the kids to see. The house is easy to get to and really a perfect location (15-30 minutes to the majority of the activities we had planned.) We got into the house with no issues and it was very clean inside. Our kids had fun exploring, picking their rooms and putting their clothes away. It’s furnished very nicely and had basically everything we needed in terms of kitchen supplies, towels and extra blankets. The internet was a little spotty in terms of getting multiple TVs to stream at once, but that was a very minor issue since we had perfect weather during our stay so there wasn’t a lot of downtime. There were plenty of board games in the laundry room that we didn’t even have the opportunity to get into (if you’re planning on bringing a bunch of games like we did, only bring your couple favorites!) The only thing that came up during our stay that was closest to an issue was with the hot tub - the jets on one side weren’t working, so I messaged the owners just to let them know (wasn’t crucial to be addressed for us while we were there.) John responded right away and offered to send someone out. As it turned out I discovered a knob on the hot tub that changed the jets, so it wasn’t even anything wrong in the first place. Overall we were very pleased and would recommend this house to anyone!

We arrived to the house around 9pm (in February, so it was dark). The instructions/code we had been given to get into the house did not work...so we called (remember : it was around 9pm) and John answered and apologized for the inconvenience and gave us a code we could use. It worked and we were happy!
Our family is two adults and five children (aged 13 years down to 18 months) and our dog. The home very comfortably accomodated us! We were able to set up our dog's crate ("bed") in the master bedroom, and we put the baby's travel crib in the room with the two twin beds with her sisters, and the boys slept in the room with the full/queen bed. The home had most everything we needed (we could have used a small sauce pan, but we made our meals work with what we brought and what they have on hand). There were plenty of towels and bedding provided. They had TP and paper towels and coffee (enough to at least get you started on your stay).
The internet is a bit spotty -- but we expected that being in the mountains, so no complaints about that.
There were a couple things that could have used some attention, but I let the host know and they were not enough to effect our 5 star rating.
One day we drove to the Blue Ridge Pkwy (which was closed when we were there) and went to Cherokee, which was a neat drive. Then another day we drove to Chimney Rock and that was amazing. There is really so much to do within driving distance of this home...or you can just relax! It's perfect!
