My brothers family and I spent 5days exploring Ireland and Killaghy Castle and Mullinahone was our home sweet home away from home.
The castle was quaint and quiet with LOTS of room for multiple families and couples. We spent the first day after travel just laying in the grass in the garden and relaxing… sounds like a movie right!
Mullinahone is conveniently 2-2.5hrs or less from Dublin, Galway, Cliffs of Moher and others. Even closer are Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Kilkenny. See them all!
Staying nearby we went to TJ Macs Pub in town and drove over to Thatch in Cloneen for drinks and stories, great little pubs with great owners! We even caught some local Hurling!
If you’re looking for a quiet place or centrally located place to stay OR if you want to tell friends and family you stayed at a castle for a week, even better ☺️🇮🇪
Thank you!

Killaghy Castle, and the adjacent town of Mullinahone, was the perfect gathering place for our family that ranged in age from 10 to 89.
We were warmly welcomed and offered many suggestions to help make our week extra special. A favorite memory was waking up one day to the field in front of the house filled with gentle, grazing cows. All in all, a special time for our family. Thank you Eileen! Thank you Pat!

We had 16 family members from 9yo to 69yo and all found the castle home amazing. Pat and Eileen were very responsive and understanding of the "Americans" that couldn't figure out how to operate the European showers. Haha. The property has classic Irish beauty with beautiful flowers and large fields of green, green grass. The living spaces are expansive and very accommodating for our large group to be together and enjoy our family time. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, though the WIFI is spotty in some of the bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped (2 refrigerators!) and the hosts even provided a bag of ice for us Americans. Lots of extras included as well, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, bottled water (though the tap water was delicious), extra TP, plenty of towels and even face cloths. The washers and dryer was an added plus as most of the group had been in country for several days.
We enjoyed the short walk into town and several evenings at T. J. Mac's Irish pub. T.J. is an amazing host at his pub and very accommodating with the children in the group.
It is a great central location to explore SE Ireland and we enjoyed the short drives to the Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle and several trips to Kilkenny. After our longer drives to Blarney, Kinsale and the Cliff of Moher we were welcomed home to Killaghy Castle with open arms. Obviously the hosts put much thought and concern into their guest comfort and needs. It was much appreciated by our group.

We absolutely recommend staying here!! We had 15 people staying here for the New Years Holiday and it was absolutely the best. While in a small town the property was centrally located for us to see many historical sights.

We truly got the feel of the Irish countryside by staying here. It is very rural but was a great center point for us as we traveled to different towns and castles in the are. The home accommodated our large family of adult children and grandchildren. Loved the backyard for several pick up soccer games! Anthony and Eileen were very responsive to questions. Great place to stay with a large group or family.

Quaint, but charming-ideal for a large family group. Hosts were very responsive to needs and issues.

The entire family found the accommodations fun and functional - walking to a little park and / or town was easy. There is a lovely little grocery store and a nice spot or two for pizza take out!

Spacious and very well equipped historical property with an authentic decorative finish and furniture. Perfect for large family group. Wonderful views from bedroom windows. Easy walking distance to nearby town of Mullinahone and short drive to Kilkenny and Cashel.

We had my husbands 50th birthday at Killaghy Castle with some family and friends and had an amazing time. We all LOVED the space and Marie, Eileen and Anthony were just so helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here, so spacious and grounds are beautiful.

We had an amazing time at this awesome castle with comfortable accommodations for our large group of family and friends ranging in age from 25 to 82 years old! We had an awesome time getting to know many Mullinahone locals, loved the local pub write down the street, loved the area (several local hiking spots and many other day trip options from biking, to several historical sites) ... so much to do and such a beautiful setting. Also hired a chef for a birthday dinner at the castle! Amazing time! GPS was a little wonky getting to the castle ... but a quick call to the Host squared us away!

Eileen and Anthony are amazing hosts! Our time was short and fast paced so coming home to a castle every night was wonderful. Everything we needed was ready and waiting for us. The kitchen is grand and the grounds just immaculate. I could live my days at Killaghy and spend my nights at TJ Macs in Mullinahone as long as I was blessed to be on this earth. Do not pass up the chance to live like royalty!

Our party of 14 + dog had a fantastic stay in your beautiful property. The check in process was really simple. The provision of homemade scones and jam made us feel immediately welcome.
Property was large with very comfortable beds, bathrooms, a large sitting room, dining room and kitchen. All necessities provided.
The outdoor space was amazing, beautiful walled garden and patio with seating and barbecue. We were so lucky with the weather and dined outside on 3/4nights. Great playground at the grand entrance.
Lots to do within an hour’s drive.
In conclusion a wonderful stay for our family reunion to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

A group of friends went to Mullinahone to celebrate my 50th birthday. I couldn't imagine a better place to relax. The castle was fabulous. Plenty of space. Very comfortable. Wonderful kitchen. Beautiful scenery. The town was just as welcoming. We spent each evening enjoying the hospitality of TJ Mac's Pub and then took the short walk back to the castle. Everyone in the town was so kind and went above and beyond to make our group feel welcome. I hated to leave!!!! I can't say enough nice things about the accommodations and the residents of this amazing Irish community. Thank you thank you thank you for making my birthday so special!!!

We arrived after an overnight flight, and several hours of driving to find a fire laid and wine on the table. We traveled with my mom, a friend, my adult son, and my teen daughter. Our plan was a small vow renewal in the foyer, but as luck would have it, there was an absolutely beautiful walled garden with beautiful greenery and an immense pine tree. Our local friends couldn't resist a stay and we ended up with a full house. My friends loved the huge kitchen, it was the perfect location to laugh and host everyone. We snuggled into the front room with a fire on multiple nights. We had a grand time exploring the area and can't say enough about the home, area, hosts, neighbors...just everything. We are completely in love with Ireland. Also, my husband has become a bird lover in just five days.

Our family of 8 stayed 5 amazing nights in this great property and loved every moment. The space was warm and inviting and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals. Owners were very responsive to our questions and made sure that we were comfortable.

We had a family group of 12 adults and 6 children. Everyone loved the castle! It was so beautiful and so comfortable, everyone felt right at home. We traveled a lot during our stay and took a day to decompress and relax at the castle. Everyone thought that was one of the highest points. The walled garden was perfect for the kids to kick around a soccer ball while we grilled out. Maria was available but we had everything we needed to make for a dynamite stay.
Thank you , Maria, again for everything especially for arranging our don’s birthday cake.

We had an excellent time at the castle! It is so spacious we were never in each other’s way and we had 20 related and unrelated individuals there! It is lovely but not so upscale that you’re afraid to sit down or touch anything- it felt like home. We made dinner each night - it was a very workable kitchen- Edward Obrien the butcher in town could not have been nicer! The best part for us was we could be in an historic building in a fairly damp country in the spring and not one of my highly allergic guests had a bit of trouble- I’m was so pleased! I could not recommend this stay more- thanks!

My family ( 13) celebrated my husband and I 50th Anniversary at this lovely farm. The hosts, Pat & Marie were so gracious and friendly. Everything about our stay from the owners of T J Mack's Pub, local pizza and grocery just added more to our favorite memories of this enchanting country. Can't wait for a return visit.

The home is well located in central Ireland. It is a nice small village. The Pubs are in easy walking distance. There is a really nice play ground just outside the castle with activities for children of varing ages. Our family had a great time and we will be back. There is a very nice garden with a wide lawn area just made for a celebration. We are thinking it would be a great spot for our nieces wedding

Situated in central County Tipperary, the Castle is a tranquil retreat that your family or group can relax in or escape to. It also accomdates activity outings to Roch of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Kilkenny Castle or Warerford City. Our multi-generation family appreciated the Castle's historical character and comforts of modern life, as well as the ample living space and outdoor room to run and play for children (ages 6 - 15) in the expansive walled garden. We would return again and again.

Killaghy Castle was a wonderful place for our family vacation. We enjoyed the location and the home was comfortable with plenty of space for all 19 of us. The nearby village was charming and friendly. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The country setting was beautiful and extremely quiet. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone and the living room and dining room had seating for all of us. Marie was extremely helpful in answering questions and helping us organize our activities. She even arranged for a birthday cake so we could celebrate while we were there. She was not in our space but was available when we needed her for questions.
