About this house rental
Why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can have your own condo? Avoid the crowds of people in resorts in your own oasis, just a short walk away from West Bay Beach.
The location of this 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo is just perfect. Its a short walk, most of it along the ocean, to West Bay Beach. The closest beach is 200 steps and 3.5 minute walk on a flat, palm tree lined road away. This beach is very laid back and has very few people on it. Its a great place to escape on a busy cruise ship day. The world famous white sands of West Bay Beach are about a 3 minute walk past this beach.
This brand new condo is located in the luxury development of Acqua Di Mare. The 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom 750 square foot condo has every you will need. The open floor plan has a full kitchen and living area in one large room. The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you will need to cook (or reheat if you don’t want to cook on vacation). There is a breakfast bar or you can eat outside on the balcony. The living room has a two person sofa that turns into a single pull out bed and a coffee table. There is even a washer and dryer in the unit.
The master bedroom has a queen bed and fantastic ensuite bathroom complete with a large shower. The second bedroom has full sized bed. It shares the bathroom that is off the living room. Each bedroom has a TV with cable. The mattresses, pillows, and linens were brought in from the USA so they are incredibly comfortable. There are small private balconies off each bedroom and a larger one off the living area.
The well landscaped property has off-street parking if you choose to rent a vehicle. The lovely pool area feels like an oasis. The pool has in water seating to help you relax. It’s a great place to relax with a good book. There is even a small waterfall into the pool. There are lounge chairs and an outdoor sofa around the shaded pool as well as a BBQ.
The rental price does not include electricity. Electricity is quite expensive on Roatan. So Instead of charging fees for laundry, A/C , and so forth, it is easier and fairer to charge to for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out, subtract the allowance, and use the previous month's bill to determine the charge per kilowatt hour.
If you are energy aware (use the ACs only at night, put your towels on the clothes line to dry instead of in the dryer, and turn off lights when not in use) I would say the electricity will be around $10 - $20/ day. If you don’t use the AC, you most likely won’t go over the allowance.
Roatan is experiencing a construction boom. This means there is nearby construction. This development is finished but there are two other neighboring properties (across the street and three properties down) that are under construction. It can create some noise though it is mostly limited to 8 am - 4pm.
We are an island off the coast of Honduras. We have frequent electric, internet, and cable outages. It's part of the charm of Roatan. As we have no control over this, we will not offer any refunds in the event of utility outages.
We also provide a complementary concierge service for all of our customers. We can help you arrange tours, diving, etc. I have been diving here for over 20 years and can recommend a dive shop that suits your needs.
If you are coming to Roatan to buy property, we also are licensed Real Estate Agents with over 20 years of experience working. We even offer up to a $1000 credit on your vacation rental if you end up purchasing a property with us.

Great experience would return

Lots of potential, probably 3.5 / 5.0.
Things that could help a lot: Host could have paper towels, napkins, garbage bags, instructions for water refill, trash/recycling. Water in bathroom sinks trickles out and toilets sometimes don't flush (that's island living) The curtains were cheap and let too much light in (some where broken). The silverware was a little rusty, but plentiful. If you're using the couch as a bed...it's a bit difficult to use but it works.
Things that were great: Security, A/C worked very well, plenty of hot water, Towels were good. The Washer/Dryer was broken half the time, but when it worked...it worked very well. TV had ESPN. Wi-fi was good in main room. Layout good, but could use a closet. Management was incredibly responsive with WhatsApp. Fridge was big and convenient. Other guests clearly left laundry soap and some sun screen.
There is NO generator here, so if the power goes out...which it did 3 to 4 times...you're out of luck. Hotels on the island do have generators so you can get food there if you need! If it rains, it makes getting to the beach tougher as mud covers the street (like almost all streets on the island) and you'll get dirty pretty quick.
Walking to West Bay is the best part of this stay. The location is great, and within 10 mins you're at the heart of the beach. Walk to the end another 20 minutes and you can snorkel by the rocks at the end of the island...which is incredible.

The 8-unit condo complex is practically new. Good quality construction. Great location, easy walk down to the "east end" of West Bay Beach. Check out Las Rocas restaurant--it's quite good and the prices are reasonable/pretty good for beach fare. The little pool area is nice. There is a nighttime security guard who watches the property and the neighboring properties, which is a nice plus as a deterrent.
The day we arrived we had some trouble with checkin; 1) VRBO had deleted all the access info in the automated checkin email; 2) even though we arrived over 3 hours after checkin, the unit had not been cleaned yet. So, we relaxed by the pool for a couple of hours while the cleaning lady did her thing.
Property manager is on-island but direct communication via WhatsApp was not always timely. No critical issues arose, other than the checkin info and the cleaning.
The only negative property comment I would have is that the outside night lights shine brightly into the bedrooms, so it's never really dark in there for good sleep.

We spent a month in the condo in February. and had a wonderful experience. Everything from location to the beach to response time when we had a need or question was perfect. We liked it so much we booked it for another week for our upcoming trip.

A quick stay in this brand new condo. Now , I wished that I had stayed longer. The location is very convenient. It is within a walking distance to West Bay Beach and all its restaurants.
The condo is bright, comfy and very well equipped. I will be back, but this time, for a much longer stay.
