Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was very tired with cracked and loose floor tiles with crumbling grouting. Had to keep asking for shower gel as originally only1 small pot provided for 2 people. Breakfast was busy and staff couldn’t keep on top of items running out so lots of waiting around for milk, bacon, bread for the toaster etc.

Really in need of some care, very tired and dated.
Staff are really helpful and friendly.

Came here for a change as we visit chesterfield a lot to see family. A nice welcome from reception quick and easy check in. Nice large corner room with garden views, clean room, abit worn round the edges but pleasant.
Dinner was tasty in the restaurant also breakfast was plentiful and the staff were really helpful and friendly
Plenty of parking and a couple of EV chargers
There were a couple of issues with the room however once reception was told all was good when we returned so thumbs up from me
We both enjoyed the hotel and I bet in spring/summer the garden will be glorious.
It might become our goto place when visiting

Good hotel and Spa

Big room, very clean and had everything that you needed. Bed was large but matress and pillows were both very soft so unfortunately to my liking. Has a nice little functional gym tucked away at the back of the site aswell. Grounds are large so you can have a nice stroll after food if needed. Food was nice and prices where reasonable so overall a great place. Would recommend.

We opted for a Superior Feature room and were given the Derbyshire Suite for our stay.
The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the bath tub in the room made it just a little extra special. The room came with the usual essentials - coffee/tea making facilities, shampoo/shower gel etc. we brought our own bath bubbles.
Breakfast each morning was buffet style with a choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurt and hot English fry up items, as well as a selection of fruit juices and hot drink options.
Only gripe I have is we were woken both mornings by the sound of the tv in the room the other side of our bed wall and there were a few cosmetic imperfections (there was a crack by the windowsill and the bathroom door handle was loose, but it wouldn’t stop us staying again. Would like to try out the spa next time.
Overall really nice hotel, friendly staff upon checking in and out.

Really lovely location, convenient for Chesterfield and Chatsworth (25 min drive) which was the purpose of our visit. The room was spacious and comfortable in the Coach House part of the building.
My only niggle - and this is very much first world problems - was that it would be handy to have bedside plugs. The only accessible plug in the room was near the kettle.
Otherwise we had excellent service, a good meal in the evening and the spa facilities were lovely!

Room not being properly clean, and dirty, torn net curtains was not a good look. also avoid Potting shed and Garden cottages rooms - right next to a busy road and rooms ground floor.

No service. Missing the third bed, not enough towels for all. Room was cold without heating, not cosy.

Payed for upgraded room with the bigger Dubble bath tub however the plug didn’t work so bath would not fill and to top it of was on a busy main road all you could hear was traffic zooming past the windows all night had a quieter night at premiere inn !

I booked the hotel for two nights. After the first night my room was not cleaned and someone had clearly entered the room as they placed the do not disturb sign on the door deceiving me and hotel management, but no manager had a checking process. All very poor.

There were hairs in the bath and cobwebs on the ceiling above the bed.

Was unable to enter the car park for half an hour as there was an event on. Hotel had not explained this. No AC and the room was 30 degrees.

Stayed for a friends wedding - the bar area was dirty… the service was slow and terrible
The rooms are old and run down …
The most disappointing thing is the service …. They don’t thing the team are given much training in customer service skills and it is by far the worst I have ever seen

Nice country house hotel. We stayed in room 401 - which is quite a hike with 2x large suitcases... would have been nice if they had given us directions to drive there instead. Other than that, nice place, nice staff zero complaints.

The staff was helpful when checking in, the staff were friendly and helpful at breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful at afternoon tea although our booking got mixed up and was booked for 2 people instead of 3, and not a vegetarian option was chosen even tho we emailed, but this was quickly sorted. The room was nice apart from there were ants everywhere, all over the table top, all over the floor in the living room.

The room was a little dated, lovely corner bath but the jets weren’t working on it, no shower in the room which would have been handy. Lovely 4 poster bed, but the mattress was way too soft. Restaurant was lovely and the quality of the food was great. We used the spa and the gym the following day, the spa was very modern, great facilities and very clean.

When we arrived we had to go to a separate building, which was fine. However, after arriving to our room its stank of dog, after calling reception they said that was a dog friendly room and they’d move us. The manager was meant to be over straight away, after waiting a while he finally arrived and moved us to a new room, which was run down. the staff were not very apologetic, they weren’t accounting either. we stayed two nights and the lady who asked if we wanted our room cleaned seemed furious when we said yes

This place has an air of grubbiness about it.
The toilet rim in our suite was absolutely filthy. I doubt it has ever been cleaned.
In the public toilets, neither me nor my wife managed to find a soap dispenser with any soap in it. I reported this on the he first day.
On the second day, the bar was closed.
Breakfast... It appeared to me that things like sausages and bacon were dramatically overcooked and appeared to have been reheated. There were no fried eggs.
On the plus side, the evening food was good.
We won't be staying again.

Room was ok. Bed was too short (im 6ft 2in). Music from downstsirs was very loud as my room was above it. Shower leaking all night.
I paid to stay in the hotel and £85 for a massage in the spa.....yet they still insisted i had to pay £40 to have a swim after my treatment which i think is an absolute joke.

Nice breakfast and lovely staff.
The gym was a bit odd.

The big let down of this hotel is the WiFi. In our room 135 we had 1.5 Mbs. Previous reviews rang warning bells I should have taken notice! Evening a signal in the dining room was very poor.

Faulty Towers comes to Chesterfield. Dated beyond belief the furniture, the carpets, the plumbing, the smell. If you are looking to slum it for a night then this is for you. The bath taps didn’t work, the shower was a trickle out a pipe and the smell of the room was unbearable. Honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I booked a superior room. Needs knocking down and rebuilding

Amazing hotel where staff could not do enough for you, special shout out to Oliver who was so helpful! they even opened the bar just for us! The hotel was close to all local amenities and you must try the local Indian! The locals were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble.

Almost perfect stay. The spa, the restaurant and the overall hospitality were all excellent. The only down sides were the bathroom which was tired with a leaky shower and pipes, and the mattress was so far too soft for our liking. Overall though I would definitely stay here again as the spa was clean and comfortable with all the facilities working, and the food in the restaurant was so delicious.
