lovely hotel, nice atmosphere friendly staff. Room was large, clean and comfortable bed, this was an executive king room. Bar & restaurant area very homely, will stay again.

The Bull Hotel was a great stay. The room was compact and beds good. The ensuite was excellent with plenty of room. Bar area was amazing and good food served most of the day. So one could eat if arrived late. The decor was really done well

Great location. Excellent breakfast service. Superb value for money. Tired shower but excellent water pressure and temperature. Comfortable bed and spacious standard room.

Nice stay. Hotel is warm and friendly. Rooms nice and comfortable, only issue I had a room with car park at back and glass bins emptied at 6am !

When I arrived to the hotel to checkin the male receptionist was clearly having a bad day, did not provide me any information about my stay. I had to ask for basic information like where was the lift (that does not exists) and the direction to my room. For my surprise my key card also didn’t work and I had to go down and ask for a new card, again the same receptionist didn’t apologize for the inconvenience and again very dry. The corridors had a strong smell of fresh paint and my room had a very strong smell, I am not sure where it came from, maybe it was the old carpet or something else but was definitely unpleasant. I had to take a pill for allergies as my skin started to flare up .

The staff was excellent, especially the Assistant Manager. To properly identify her, she is from Sicily. The morning restaurant staff were outstanding. Very accommodating!

Bar staff miserably, a lot of effort to serve you, don’t eat the prawn cocktail starter. Very few cheap prawns , all sauce little salad. No effort made .

Have been travelling for 4 months and stayed at over 50 4 star hotels and this is not up to 4 star standard. Proactive service has let them down. They have a carpark at the back which is a different postcode, and if you drive past the front of the hotel it advises you will receive a penalty notice. Not happy about this. No correspondence received from the hotel to explain how to reach the car park or that there are restrictions to cars in the streets around the hotel, which could easily be done through an automatically generated email at time of booking. Also whilst this is a lovely 1840’s reburbished building, there are no lifts. Not mentioned in hotels.com description and I had to hunt on their website afterwards to find any mention of this. We were on the second floor so had to haul our luggage up two flights of stairs. 4 star and no lift! Room was on the small side but big enough for two, beds are too hard and bathroom nothing like the pictures. TV is the size of a large computer screen! Location is good. Breakfast was also good but I had to wait 5 minutes for them to replenish some of the hot items. Need to be more proactive in this area. Overall the stay was ok but not on a par with other 4 star hotels stayed at in UK and Europe.

I chose The Bull because of its location. The Bull has a spacious carpark with two EV charging points. The hotel iscloae to both Westgate and Queensgate shopping centres. The room i had did not have a view, but that was of no importance because it had everything else including two comfortable chairs. I only ate breakfast at The Bull. The meal was good.
I would stay there again

Was a good weekend away located in the middle of the city not far from the Cathedral and the shops. Also a short walk to the Riverside to walk along

Good bar and restaurant, plenty of parking in the free hotel car park and right in the city centre

Review Title: Disappointing Stay with Poor Service**
I recently stayed at the Bull Peterborough and my experience was far from satisfactory. From the moment I arrived, I felt unwelcome. That’s made it an unpleasant start to the day. The staff at the front desk were indifferent and unhelpful, making the check-in process frustrating and time-consuming. The fact that I had a language barrier did not help the situation I felt very discriminate No effort was made to make my stay comfortable.
The breakfast was another major disappointment. The options were limited, and the quality of the food was poor. The value of the money paid and the services delivered did not aligned with the hotel standard. I ended up not having breakfast on my last day of check out I couldn’t wait to leave the hotel.
Overall, the lack of hospitality and the subpar breakfast left me regretting my choice to stay at Bull Peterborough I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant and comfortable sta

We had a trainee at checkin who didn’t know what she was doing and had no one showing her.

Lovely old hotel in the centre of Peterborough, we had some frustrations finding the car park, but staff were incredibly welcoming when we finally arrived. The cleaning team were literally leaving our room when we arrived and upon realising they had made our twin beds up as a double, quickly turned round and resolved it

A deluxe room that wasn’t deluxe in 1960 when it was installed. (Half the advertised content of a deluxe was missing)
Breakfast was a complete shambles, fawlty towers esq in incompetence & miss management.
Arrived 0930 took 5 mins waiting to be approached.
No clean tables
No tea or coffee delivered to table (despite prompts)
No toast delivered (despite prompts)
No hot food, elements arrived out randomly, had to queue to only get half the items listed.
No juice (all empty)
No yoghurts (empty)
No milk (empty)
No fruit (empty)
No pastries (empty)
No bowls so couldn’t have fruit cereal or yoghurt anyway.
Normally I’d blame management not the staff as you know how many people have booked breakfast but barring the chef dolling out the hot food, staff were headless.
Only plus is bar is quite nice.
Trades on its location, but I would not bother in future & stay further out.
Was ready to discuss with reception but wasn’t even asked about stay on checkout.

Hotel was great central location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was good size and clean. Bathroom was looking a bit tired but clean. Room was roasting hot, with no way to turn radiator down or control heat. No local information available in room. Would’ve been useful to have menu for room service.

I had a great stay at The Bull, the hotel looks lovely and elegant when you walk in. The staff are helpful and pleasant and my room was great. It was large and had a desk and computer chair, which was a welcome addition as I was attending for work.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the best hash browns I’ve ever had! One thing to note, the breakfast is £12 if ordered in the evening and this goes up to £15 in the morning so make sure you opt in ahead of time if you’re looking to have breakfast there.

There was a wedding on so evening dining was not available. Bar and bistro closed for refurbishment. Wasn't aware of this when I booked. However a lovely hotel and a fantastic room.

Been to hotel a couple of times before so knew what to expect .Staff were very helpful and friendly .service was first class.. On arrival room was on first which was unsuitable owing to mobility issues but the receptionist soon found us a ground floor .only real issue was that the main bar was closed and when we went for a meal one evening the dining room was empty and souless .the meal however was very tasty .just a little niggle but enough to warrant 4 out of 5.

A really nice hotel right in the centre of Peterborough and an easy walk to the train station.
The room was clean and comfortable with good facilities.
I had a bar meal and the quality was exceptional with great service.
Will definatly stay again.

Decent hotel. Friendly staff. Large room.

They have a carpark at the back which is a different postcode, and if you drive past the front you will receive a penalty notice.
None of this is mentioned on the website so phone beforehand to get the postcode of the car park.
Every member of staff I encountered was under 25, and as miserable as sin, there wasn't a smile amongst any of them, and it was obvious that none of them wanted to be there.
Never again

Reasonably well maintained building close to local shops and attractions. A bit of a route march to a limited space room, unable to get knees under table to use laptop. Overall pleasant if a bit impersonal. Peterborough town centre is the most unpalatable I've recently visited. It seemed young men were coursing the shopping centre in gangs and I would not have liked my wife going out alone at night. I moved my wallet to a zippable pocket when out. The cathederal was worth the visit though.

a comfortable Christmas stay

Service great, festively decorated, but the bathroom was somewhat akin to a fridge. Did not appear to be heated at all.

The room could have been a bit warmer but that is my only comment - The heater didn't seem to work. Other than that, convenient place to stay in Peterborough, room quiet even at the front of the hotel, would stay again (and check heating before heading out for the evening :)

Nice and close to centre good value for money

The Hotel is an oasis in a sea of desperate looking individuals who hang around the nearby streets. Nothing to do other than visit pubs you would have given a large swerve to back home, but it’s a decent hotel, however the menu is not what it was before Great Western acquired it.
