'Comfort' room very small.

Price was discounted on line the following day from booking. Hotel eventually made a gesture. Nicely presented room / decor. Maintenance was POOR. Some staff members were Excellent.

I had a few issues when i first arrived but the lovely manager soon put those straight
It was lovely to feel listened too,
Food in this hotel is amazing both restaurants are well worth a visit
Pool area a lovely touch as well
3.8
we had a very good stay the fact that you have use of neighbouring hotels is a very good thing
3.8
Decoration could be better but everything was clean and tidy
3.8
We have had a fabulous time. Very friendly. Great location. Thank you. We will be back.

The Cumberland is still one of the "better" hotels in Bournemouth, however the East Cliff area is somewhat run down with a few very run down or disused hotels. I had a single room which was compact but comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the towels were some of the best I've had in a hotel of late. Guest areas are kept clean & tidy and the swimming pool area looked good, I didn't use the pool.

Furniture tired . Staff excellent. Room clean and as it should be for a good 3 star hotel
3.8
Definitely need to do renovation, hotel very tired. Worse hotel I have been.
3.8
Great location but really needs some TLC. Very outdated.
3.8
Good location for the beach. 7min walk to where you get down to the beach.
Hotel building is old, so rooms could do some renovation. Thin walls, you can hear your next door neighbours, so remember to bring your ear plugs!
Outdoor pool is a plus! Food was good.
Staff was friendly and welcoming.
You can use the indoor pool for free at the next door hotel, but their staff were not friendly or helpful at all.
3.8
What i didnt like is that because i booked on expedia i had to pay £12 per day for parking which is free if you book with the hotel.

On my first night there were no towels in my room. On the website i booked a modern plush looking room. My actual room was nothing like the one shown. The net curtain in my room was ripped. Then came the worst part. The following day i asked where i could get some lunch and was pointed to the restaurant. When I tried to go in i was refused entry despite telling the man that i was staying at the hotel. The restaurant was empty but i was told all tables were pre booked and i could go to the bar instead! No one had told me that i had to make a booking to get some lunch. It was empty and i only wanted something simple. None of the staff or management showed any level of empathy or customer relations skills.i travel round the world staying in some of the best hotels. And sadly i didn't feel made welcome here. Won't be coming back or recommending to my colleagues in the world of show business.

Nice location overlooking the sea. Enjoyed a nice two course dinner and staff were very friendly. Would have given 5 stars if it hadn’t been so noisy, I could hear the guests next door talking and people walking about in the room above. Other than that it was fine

Very enjoyable. Lovely hotel great staff good food. The pool and surroundings are fabulous.
I booked a single room. That was a mistake.
The 'ensuite ' was tiny. I haven't seen anything like it since the 1980s. Dreadful.
The room was hot, it was a hot evening. The single glazed Crittal windows didn't close. In any case the AC units to the hotel were beneath the windows and were very noisy throughout the night.
Very little sleep.
Shame because everything else was great.

Great hotel!!!!
It should be rated 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you !!!

NOT DISABLED FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!!
I had booked a disabled friendly room, I had even called a week ahead of my arrival to check for a disabled parking space, a disabled bathroom etc. My room was not disabled friendly, the shower was over a bath and I couldn't use it. The lift was extremely tiny for only 3 people and my wheelchair did not fit in! it was the same for other wheelchair users and scooter users. We had to dismantle our chairs and scooters and send them up in bits, it took 2 trips. There is only 1 tiny lift for this massive hotel with 4 floors, it is absolutely ridiculous. It took 21 minutes to get from 3rd floor in lift as every floor was calling for it and it was up and down. 1 lift is pathetic, 3 thin people was a squeeze. it was a farce. Our room was a sea view with balcony, there were floor tiles missing on the balcony floor, the front of the hotel lights up at night with multi coloured changing lights, the bedroom curtains are thick and block this out, but there is nothing covering the bathroom window and our bathroom door wouldn't stay shut, we had to tie the handle with our dressing gown belts to the draw handle to keep it closed or it was like trying to sleep at the Blackpool illuminations.
The breakfast room - staff are only concerned with the larger coach parties, not bothered about little bookings. You cannot get through the jungle of chairs and tables
Disabled parking bays are the same size as standard parking bays.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

Lovely hotel, amazing pool and we had a gorgeous room with a balcony and sun beds (but no privacy). Breakfast was ok but not 4 star.

The staff at the reception and managers are great, they let down by a hotel that is great need of updating and general maintenance. Carpets with holes, wallpapers peeling and general demeanour is old and worn need of lots of attention. Room we had was a little compact. Bedding, pillows, curtains and carpet are just on edge of acceptable - and seemed needing replacement.
3.8
Staff really friendly and helpful. Outdoor pool area is great! The upstairs public areas are dated but otherwise all good.

Went for my birthday, the hotel was lovely and even got an upgrade with a wonderful view of the beach.
3.8
Rooms need a little updating the food was amazing.
3.8
Plenty of EV chargers

We had an excellent family room, a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower, all very clean, all the toiletries we needed, also ample tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits provided. The evening meal for 4 in the Mirabelle restaurant was absolutely delicious, although a little pricey, but worth it. All the staff were very efficient and friendly.I would definitely recommend
3.8
Hotel was good but music was on til late. The parking was a nightmare at the hotel. Was fully booked. But overall a really nice hotel and clean
3.8
Great hotel, loved the art deco vibe, food is great, my only suggestion would be fridges in the rooms as would expect that in a 4 star hotel
3.8
Everything was spot on
3.8
Bar and pool and views

This hotel is easy walking distance from the town. We attended a function and the food was good but very disappointed about the wine, ordered a merlot and Shiraz at £25 each and were both undrinkable possibly the worst wines I have ever tasted. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff were fantastic. Water pressure not so fantastic the shower was more of a dribble than a shower.
3.8
Great location, friendly staff, family room with balcony at front of hotel very nice
3.8
It was nice staff were very good the room was nice enjoyed staying there. Thank you.
3.8
Amazing location - excellent view. The pro's excellent staff, restaurants, facilities.
Cons - dated, rooms looking old. Minor stuff with us - TV didn't work, shower too hot, rattling air con
Needs significant modernisation.

I was given a room right by the lift which meant noise was ongoing as there would be a double ding sound each time it reached a floor, and a beep sound each time someone pressed the button for a lift.
The towels provided in the room had a nasty stain which put me off using it.
The lift is super tiny and can only fit 3 people max, and you sometimes have to wait a while until it arrives and providing there is space. I would have taken the stairs but had heavy luggage.
On the morning of checking out i received an invoice through my room door for my stay even though i already payed everything in advance, and when checking in it was confirmed that everything was payed for. I called reception who said i should not have received the invoice and were apologetic.
At check in i had to provide a card in case of damages etc. The hotel took 1p out of my account. I know 1p is not a lot but surely money should only be taken if there is a need? Or perhaps to was to check that it was an active card with money.
Overall what made the experience bad was the location of my room being next to a lift so noise was ongoing as there were people coming back very late, and the early risers.
In terms of facilities you can use the indoor pool , sauna and mini gym at the sister hotel next door. You would have to ask for a towel from your hotel though. The changing room had lockers which were out of use so leave your belongings at your own risk in the locker as they do not lock.
3.8
We have stayed here many times however the hotel is dated and in need of a make-over. one of the two rooms we had, had a sink not draining, shower was not the best, water was not provided, rooms are not sound proofed, so can hear what is happening above and next door and tv misplaced in the room. The lift is an issue at busy times you are waiting a while to go up/down. The outdoor pool is a plus and breakfast is adequate - extra costs for omelettes etc. The staff are great. Parking in car park is not included and tight space.

A lovely stay for the me, wife and two kids. Helpful staff

Like the outdoor pool and great location for walking into Bournemouth in the evening. Breakfast was good.

We had a very pleasant stay visiting family. We found the staff friendly and the hotel clean and comfortable. Many thanks.

We stayed here as it was our 1st wedding anniversary and we were married at the hotel. It’s such a friendly place and the food was great. Our room was a little outdated and definitely needs a refresh. We were also a little disappointed that we had to pay £12 parking. This was due to us not booking directly through the hotel.
3.8
We liked the hotel, food was excellent, room was clean, staff was friendly and good. Did not like having to pay £24 parking for 2 days. Otherwise all good.

I like this Hotel.
Nice location near seaside.
With pool.
Elegant style.
