The Fairmont Mayakoba is an experience! This was our third time visiting this property and it was amazing!
The entire property has an incredible variety of unique and enchanting elements that make this place unique.
The staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly.
The accommodations and restaurants are great!

The Fairmont Mayakoba is a 5 star resort. We were there for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Check-in to Check-out was amazing with no issues. Customer service is excellent. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and happy to help. We upgraded to a Casita room which was so worth it. The resort is absolutely stunning. It's like being in a different planet. Transportation by bike or golf cart was easy and accessible. Never had to wait long. The food and drink were amazing as well. We will surely be back soon.

The location of everything at the resort was excellent. The beach was just far enough away where you could take a bike ride using one of the resort bikes, walk, or shuttle. We spent most of our time there enjoying the beach club, using the SUP's kayaks, snorkel tour and swimming. We can't wait to come back!

We recently stayed at the Fairmont Mayakoba to celebrate my wife's birthday and had an exceptional experience. One of the highlights was playing golf at the spectacular Camaleón Golf Course, which offered a challenging and enjoyable round amidst stunning scenery.
The service at the hotel was impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. There are numerous dining options available, catering to a variety of tastes and preferences, making each meal a delightful experience.
The large pool area is well-designed, providing ample space so that guests never feel crowded. This was especially important given the many activities available for kids, ensuring they had plenty to do while we relaxed.
The gym and spa facilities are top-notch, offering a wide range of equipment and treatments for those looking to stay active or unwind.
Overall, I highly recommend Fairmont Mayakoba for anyone looking to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing vacation without needing to venture out frequently. Everything you need is right on the property, making it an ideal destination for an stress-free getaway.

The property boasts an exceptional location and is well-maintained. The staff is notably courteous, friendly, and highly accommodating. The premises are truly enchanting with beautifully preserved grounds. Our experience was exceptional, and we were pleased to find the environment to be LGBTQ friendly.
A special acknowledgment goes to the exceptional team at La Cocina, where we attended a cooking class. Their service was outstanding. Additionally, we would like to recognize Jessica for curating an extraordinary itinerary for us.
Undoubtedly the premier choice in the Riviera!

Place is amazing. They definitely need more food options but other than that we had a great trip. Lovely for family’s. One of my favorite things was coming back to an amazing clean casita. Housekeepers do a lovely job. 10/10 for them. Golf carts are paying attention all the time for guests. Just lovely!! Beach was always clean even though we had rain for 7 days straight.

If you have small children or older adults, there are many stairs to navigate to get to the lobby and from the lobby. That is a problem because two restaurants are there: Hix and Tauro.
The property is falling apart. It is dirty. It floods when it rains. It is slick when walking.
Ricardo, the front desk person we dealt with was horrible. I have never despised a front desk associate more than him. Rude. Condescending. The worst. Oliver is also horrible and drives too fast.
The property stays alive by several employees that are excellent, specifically:
Estephania Estrada, who in my opinion, should be a manager because she is the only one who understands both the needs of the hotel and the guest. She is service focused, professional, and interested in both the guests and the property and you can tell she loves her job. I just loved working with her to try to improve my stay. She is lovely and a great asset.
Alejandro was awesome and very helpful in showing us around the property and getting us around.
Elias Chavez at Tauro (the ONLY decent restaurant)and our server, Adan were AMAZING. My husband killed a huge cockroach walking along the entrance to Tauro. Edy by the pool was fantastic and funny. We loved him. Def not 5 stars. Maybe 3.5. Ceiling is falling apart in many places. Activities are bad and the director, Enzo disclosed he no budget to do anything. We were bored. There are only 2 places for breakfast and they are the same every day.

Our stay at the renovated Fairmont Mayakoba was marked by excellent service and facilities. The staff, particularly our concierge Jessica, was superb, facilitating everything from tee times to transportation effortlessly.
We chose not to go all-inclusive, preferring to explore dining options across the linked resorts. Despite high recommendations for the Saffron and Tequila Bar at the Rosewood, it was Fairmont’s own GAIA and Tauro that truly impressed us with their culinary excellence.
The resort’s gym was top-notch with Peloton bikes and was always clean. Our room was beautifully updated, spacious but lacked a fridge, which was slightly inconvenient, though a coffee maker was provided.
Be prepared for high prices similar to U.S. rates. The main pool was under-staffed, contrasting with the well-maintained and staffed beach club. Getting around was easy thanks to plentiful golf carts and free bikes.

This property is AMAZING! The dining options are over the moon incredible; Thai, Italian, Spanish, Burgers, etc...you name it! The beaches, the pools, the spa ( where you can get massages, manicures and pedicures...AND get your workout in). There's archery, tennis, pickle ball, volleyball, paddle boarding, windsurfing, canoeing and MORE)! I LOVE IT HERE and will DEFINITELY be returning!!!

not for families with kids! ok for couples. the kids club was a nightmare. first they are only open a few select times a day and the kids have to participate in mandatory activities. in other words, if your kid is too big for legos, too bad so sad. they are forced to play. and they aren’t allowed to cry. one of mine literally cried for three minutes and the sitters were all upset. funny part is that there was only 3 kids total in the kids club with 4 staff members. Carolina the manager is very young and honestly incompetent. she has no idea what she is doing. i doubt that any of them have kids by the way they were acting. very very young. and don’t know how to adapt or soothe kids. like do your job and play with my kids for an hour so i can relax a minute. the bartender in the pool bar was such a jerk and he literally rolled his eyes at a couple next to us for ordering pina colada’s. the life guard was an hour late to the slide every day. it was a mess. the food was great though and all adult things were nice and fun. great safe location. rooms were nice. pools were plentiful and nice. the steak house tauro was the best.

I liked that there were many pools and varieties of restaurants. I loved the sushi in the lobby and that each restaurant asked about any allergies or food sensitivities. Great, relaxing vacation spot!

I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Compared to our stellar experience at Andaz Mayakoba, with its outstanding service and modern facilities, the Fairmont was a letdown. The check-in was cumbersome, and despite advertising as child-friendly, no activities for children were mentioned. The rooms showed wear and tear, and unlike Andaz, offered no complimentary minibar snacks. The resort's vastness could be a plus if not for the long distances and scarce golf carts, making transportation a hassle and often resulting in long waits. We walked most of the time except when going to the beach, which is not close. One evening, we requested a cart to our room because we had shopping bags (and kids) and got push back. La Laguba is disappointing, with subpar guacamole and dry tacos. Wait staff at the beach were understaffed and indifferent. It took several attempts to get someone to help. Fries were cold and soggy. I was told they didn’t do fresh fruit smoothies. The concierge was very unhelpful, when we asked for her to help us get a taxi from town to the hotel, she told us to 'just hail one’. Adding to our frustrations, my husband’s wallet was lost or stolen during a hotel-arranged airport transfer, costing us 2700 MXN. The hotel's lack of assistance was emblematic of our disheartening experience, far below Mayakoba's reputed standard.

The staff were fantastic and facility is beautiful. However the costs were astounding. So it’s a great place if you don’t mind dropping $12k for one week with a modest amount of food and drinks. We should have gone to Europe and would have spent much less for a better experience. Crazy high prices and it’s isolated so you can’t walk to a convenience store or lower cost restaurant. Despite that, the staff were top notch especially at the restaurant and bar on the ocean.

Beautiful property. Well maintained. Lots of pools on property. We loved riding their bikes throughout the day..
Gym and Spa are both really nice. There are water stations located throughout the hotel where you can refill your water bottle. My only gripe is there’s not one at the reception area.
The restaurant situation was the only average part..
Service at restaurants average. Food was good, but pricey given the small portion sizes. You must make restaurant reservations ahead of time during peak season. We were frustrated at the lack of availability. And often times they would say full but there were tons of open tables.
Concierge wasn’t great, but the travel center was. You must go see a cenote.

Fantastic resort with great pools and ideal for families (we are a couple with a 10 year old). Food at the seven restaurants on the property was excellent. Service in most cases was stellar. We stayed in a signature casita room which was very clean, well equipped and lux. Bathrooms are gorgeous and spa like. Nice balcony with view of the canals that run through the property. We will go again. Don't forget to book a boat tour of the brackish canals to see all the amazing wildlife including crocodiles, turtles, birds and fish.

Great expansive property with beautiful amenities. Check-in service can be better and experienced close to an hour delay from check-in time!
6.0 / 10.0
The property has a lot of world class amenities. The spa is top notch. The restaurants are great but way overpriced. The staff is trained to upsell and suggest the priciest options. Not really a hospitality mindset. This comes off as cheap when the property could be so much more for its guests.
The Fairmont rooms are way below class. They need a lot of updates for the price. I wouldn't come back.

This is a beautiful property. Well maintained, lush and green. Our room was comfortable, with nice amenities. The outdoor shower connected to the indoor shower was a treat. Bottled water provided in the room, without extra charge. The staff was friendly and attentive. Quality gym, paddle and tennis courts. I highly recommend this resort.
4.0 / 10.0
Poor operations, execution and communication. Hotel is too spread out to be staffed properly. Would ask for things and wouldn’t hear back for several hours or not at all. For a Fairmont brand, expected so much more. Food options limited, bland and mediocre at best.
10.0 / 10.0
The property was amazing. We really enjoyed the way the hotel integrated with the surrounding environment to make you feel like you were staying in a tropical rainforest and not just a resort. That said, the resort was outstanding and the staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet (albeit family friendly) getaway in an exotic but safe location. One suggested improvement would be some common areas aside from restaurants/bars in the event of rainy weather.

It is a little pricey, but well worth the cost. Our butler was right there at every turn, even on her day off!
