Great location as we were going to a gig at The Old Fire Station. Comfortable and clean room. Large fully equipped bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Fluffy white towels. Couldn't figure out the heating. We didn't raise this issue with the management as we were going out. We left the bathroom door open and the hot radiator there heated up both rooms. Good coffee making facilities.

The hotel is more run down than it used to be, it appears to be entering administration. They have introduced additional hidden charges such as parking, breakfast now costs more if you try and book it on arrival. The coffee at breakfast is now out of a conference pump machine rather than a cafetière. The night staff lady was very rude and the “master suite” blind doesn’t close so if you sit in the toilet you can make eye contact with the guests parking.

Visited Bournemouth for a stress free weekend & stayed at 'The Orchid Hotel for 1 night.
Initially had issues trying to cancel a duplicate booking via Hotel.com & wasn't able to get a refund but Chrsyoula at the hotel authorised the refund with Hotel.com and my stress free break started all from there.
The welcome was lovely to receive by a smiley Chrysoula. Hotel is nice/clean/pleasantly decorated. Twin room allocated was small however we were of petite stature so no issues. Staff in general are very helpful and accommodating. My phone charger didn't work & a male night shifter provided one straight away. The staff in general were always attentive to our needs. Chrysoula was very friendly & my cousin & I clicked with her straight away. Chrysoula went up & beyond to make our stay comfortable so a big Thank you! We will definitely visit & stay here again. Breakfast is superb! We so wished we had taken pictures as we both felt it was the best breakfast we have seen presented well in a long time. A lot of the major chains do not offer many choices...pineapple/melon cut thinly & perfectly, the oranges were juicy. Hot breakfast was kept heated by a burner under the trays.
The hotel stands a short walking distance to the beach and pier. Those who fancy a walk, B'mouth pier to Boscombe Pier is a nice approx 2mile walk along the beach. Weather was perfect considering its October & you must try Chez Freds fish & chips in Westbourne! Shops walking distance so theres something for all!

We arrived to a modern, clean hotel, and we were fortunate to get a parking spot for £10 for 24 hours. Saturday’s staff were professional and offered great customer service. Our room was modern and clean, with a comfy single bed for our child, and a spacious bathroom, though maintenance issues were noticeable—a missing basin waste cover and a soap dish that was falling off.
A major issue was the bedroom door; a large gap at the bottom allowed light to flood in at night, making it difficult to sleep. My husband ended up using cushions to block the light.
Breakfast was average, with awkward serving lids and lukewarm coffee from flasks.
On Sunday, we encountered an unhelpful checkout experience. When I mentioned the issue with the door, the staff member was dismissive, and her tone came across as passive-aggressive. She also became snippy when I asked if we could leave our car in the car park while we went into town briefly before departure. Fortunately, my husband remembered we still had plenty of time left on our 24-hour parking, so we were well within our rights to leave the car as we had planned. Everyone can have an off day, but a rude attitude towards guests doesn’t feel acceptable, especially in today’s competitive hotel industry.
Overall, Saturday was a positive experience, but Sunday’s service left us disappointed.

Very friendly hotel. Only stayed one night. Staff very nice. Room great.

Staff were very friendly and breakfast very good. I would say it was three star though rather than four as advertised. We were on the top floor and the lift didn't work for the duration of our stay. The torrential rain meant there was rain water coming through the vent on the ceiling in the bathroom on to the W.C. and floor.

Loved the hotel, but if I go again I would upgrade my room ,did not like our room too small and not a nice outlook ,although very clean .

Great staff , lovely hotel, fabulous room was so pleased! A gem in Bournemouth where most hotels are run down. Highly recommended

Rooms were bit small and the floor was dirty.
Breakfast was great. Really lovely.

The outside seating wasn’t ideal. The cushions, were left out in the wet! Despite being told they were waterproof they took up the water and made the seats wet!
Room 206 was excellent but up narrow stairs.
Breakfast excellent.

Had an evening meal in the restaurant. It was excellent. Best meal we had whilst in Bournemouth.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay at the orchid hotel, room was nice and clean, the staff were lovely, breakfast was lovely, the only thing I would say is that the evening menu could do with changing each evening or having more choice of mains. Overall a lovely stay

I booked a king room for 2 adults 1 child, which is advertised with a roll away bed at an extra charge on the rate. There was no bed for my child in the room so I notified reception who told me Expedia don’t tell them how many people are booked and they would contact a manager and sort something when we came back.
9pm I return, and the bed provided was absolutely appalling. It was dangerous, the legs did not work and it collapsed when laid on, the mattress stunk and was awful, and there was a sheet and pillow, no duvet. It was 10pm at this point so I put it outside the room and my child had to sleep with us.
My parents who were in the bar area, heard the receptionist when he came down say “well they didn’t complain”, clearly in view of how awful the bed provided was.
In the morning I asked for a manager who again wasn’t available, so I explained my complaint to reception who told me the booking showed it was for 2 adults and 1 child contrary to what the receptionist at check in said; and then proceeded to tell me over and over it was my responsibility to contact them and tell them how many people I had booked the room for and ensure the bed was provided.
I profusely refute that I need to contact a hotel to confirm all beds that I have booked are provided, and besides, a bed was provided that was entirely unfit for human use. I asked to be refunded the charge paid for the rollaway bed or for breakfast as a gesture, but nothing at all was offered, but blaming me. Appalling!

The hotel was close to local beach and pier which was accessible by walking even with a small child. The staff person managing the breakfast was amazing, friendly, personable and engaging. The breakfast was disappointing, we pre-paid and didn't bother to eat it olafter our first encounter. All other staff were quite reluctant to engage and support where required. There was generally a poor attitude from the remainder of the staff.

We enoyed our stay. Our room was is a quite part of the hotel and very well serviced. The staff were excellent the breakfast was excellent. The only thing that could be improved is slightly less hard pillows

As we entered staff have welcomed us and they were really helpful also the room was really nice

The room we was given was not cleaned but when I told staff they immediately moved us to another room which was very clean and the staff were amazing. The hotel is clean, I would say the TV reception needs to be looked at but apart from that can't fault the service and quality. Good hotel with great staff team.

I’ve stayed here a few times before and the room I received was not a great standard. Could not open windows for fresh air as room was stuffy, cobwebs on Windows, window frames in a terrible state, hardly had any Wi-Fi in my room. Had to use my own hotspot. Reported it to reception but they said they could not do anything. Breakfast was late being served and had to eat staggered as and when the hot dishes came out,£17 for average breakfast. I had to pay £10 for parking as I booked through bookings.com but was told if I booked direct it would be free, what’s the difference I still booked with you. I doubt it very much I will stay here again as I’m down in Bournmouth every month for business.
I stay at different hotels/b&b every for work and I for the rate I paid is shocking.

its a lovlly hotel easy to walk to everthing staff helpfull room was very nice apart from the kettle was not very good

This property is ideally situated as its walking distance to both Bournemouth beach and the city centre.
The hotel is lovely and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had booked 2 rooms for a family of 5. Both rooms were spacious and had a kettle, coffee machine, iron and hairdryer. There was a function on at the hotel but we were not disturbed much by the noise and the hotel had informed us beforehand.
The only downside was the hotel breakfast. It was very overpriced and the selection is poor. I would advise eating out for breakfast.
I would definitely stay agian.

A very nice hotel and the staff are excellent. I asked for a walk in shower and it was supplied. Nice bar and nicely furnished. Only had breakfast once good varied menu but would have liked some scrambled egg but that's a personal choice. Yes I would stay there again. not far to walk down the hill to Bournemouth centre and a good bus service if you want to ride back up.

We had a great three night stay , the hotel was clean and well kept. Room was well equip, the only negative thing was that the shower didn't work very well, which we did mention to reception.
Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

We had a fantastic stay here. It was only 10 minutes walk from the beach. Room was super clean and homely. Only downer, which had nothing to do with the hotel was that we could hear the racist protesters near the main roundabout

Staff mostly friendly
Otherwise a 2 star hotel and yet we paid 4 star price.
Lift not working.
Mattress spring broken and sagging
Recent blood stain and hair on one pillow
No cooked breakfast first day and poor quality other days
Paintwork and decoration poor.
Owner obviously doesn't care apart from overcharging.

Don’t be fooled by the outdated 4AA* this property clearly hasn’t been inspected for a while and my photos have been shared with the AA hotel team. Cracks in the walls, stairs missing safety bars (against building regs), dirt up the walls. Expedia shows free parking - this isn’t the case at £10 per night (if there’s even space when you come back late!) went to check in at 3pm, room not ready. Receptionist walked out at 15:05 not providing us an update as to when room will be ready. Staff also advised “we’ll do something special for you” as this was part of a mini moon break - this didn’t materialise at all. Beds were also hard and mattresses should be replaced. The cleaners also complete a shoddy job, knocking over my wedding cards but no effort to pick up from the floor.
3 other guests also complained while we were there without any resolution.
4.0
Our room was noisy, by the kitchen filters.
There was only lukewarm water when we arrived, we advised reception. They told us they would let us know when resolved, which they didn’t do, however we did have hot water by the evening.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff that we did interact with were very friendly and polite.

Great staff as usual. Lovely atmosphere. Only problem this time was no tv remote. And no plug in sink
2.5
Super cool place for a family weekend stay in Bournemouth, near city center (walking distance), friendly and kind service from all employees,
1.5
The hotel is quite dated, and rooms are tired looking. Our ‘deluxe room’ was above the kitchen extraction system and therefore the view was awful. There was a smell of fried food and it was disappointing to say the least! We did ask to move but were told it wasn’t possible.
4.0
My superior room was large with a very large comfy bed. The staff were lovely and looked after you. This was just the ticket for a 1 night stay in Bournemouth. Location was perfect for our needs.
4.0
Modern and friendly hotel, reasonably priced and well located.
Lack of attention to detail for example very dusty blinds.
Function room can be noisy and we were informed of this one week prior and again upon arrival. We were fortunate to be located in a quiet room but were given the impression that noise can be an issue if events are taking place.

Amazing, ever in Bournemouth use orchid
