This is a charming B&B in a historic building. The selection of made-to-order breakfast items is wonderful. Staff is super-friendly.

The Barksdale is conveniently located for walking around Charleston. The staff were friendly and helpful and the building is a lovely old house with much more charm and character than a chain hotel.

I liked that the location was far enough off the "main drag" so that it wasn't noisy at night, but closed enough to walk to everything I needed.

Very fun and comfortable. Breakfast was GREAT. Place could use a bit of interior painting done. But that DID NOT take away from our enjoying the inn and staff.

I came back to Charleston for a vacation in my hometown. The staff at the Barksdale House Inn could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious and tea time was a lovely treat. The location is perfect. I was able to walk to everything I wanted to see and do in downtown Charleston. I will definitely be back and highly recommend the Barksdale House Inn to anyone visiting Charleston.

Needed some TLC. Very dark. Towel rack fell off wall. You could hear upstairs neighbor walking etc. even tho I did not come to watch tv. The sound on the postage size tv went in and out

This was the perfect place to stay during the Spoleto Festival. Short walks to each venue. The breakfast offerings were great and flexible being made to order from 7:30-10:00.

Excellent B&B in a convenient area, within walking distance of restaurants, bars & sights. We stayed in the coach house in a superior room which was very spacious with a four poster bed, two sofas and an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast every day was excellent and served by B who made us all smile. Only all the staff the building the surroundings were absolutely excellent and I would thoroughly recommend staying here if you go to Charleston

Lovely period house with lots of individual furniture. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was made to order, with a decent choice! At 2-4 pm extra snacks and drinks were available during afternoon respite!
Lovely courtyard oasis available for breakfast!

Staff was remarkable, friendly, eager to help. Breakfast especially impressive, well rounded, tasted great, service exemplary. That said, had hoped for a better appointed room.

The Barksdale was absolutely delightful for our Charleston stay! The location was perfect, walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were also wonderfully friendly, and accommodating of our small children as well. We loved it and would return anytime!

For a 200 year old property it was a fantastic comfortable stay. Be prepared for no closets (at least in our room). Bed was extremely comfortable. Our room was on the street during the week so it wasn’t too loud. Sit down breakfast, snacks, ice water, coffee and tea available all day. Sodas are $1. Wine from 2-4. Lovely people, great service. Excellent location right off King St and about 10 minute walk from the Charleston marketplace. Parking is free in the back.

Loved staying at the Barksdale House. Beautiful decor. Great little courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine or beer. I stayed in the carriage house. Large clean room, comfortable bed. On main floor a Keurig machine for your use. Wonderful helpful staff expecially Aleeyah! Highly recommend.

Great friendly service (Alia and 'B'!) and a wonderful breakfast. Second visit and will definitely return.

This is a historic home turned BnB so we are not expecting the same conditions as a new home or hotel, but the room had mismatched paint touch ups on the ceiling, the bathroom window trim had a different color than white, and the glass was dirty. These are not terrible, but easily fixable to improve the quality of the experience. Also, the landscaping could stand to have a little more TLC than it's getting.

Great location. Just a block off of King Street shopping and a 10 minute walk to Market Street. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very tight parking in the back for $28.50. I only have 2 gripes. 1 - there is no staff on site after 7pm although they do have an emergency number; I would have liked to get some ice in the evening for my room but the ice machine is in the staff only area and I didn't feel that warranted a call to the emergency number. My only other gripe would be that you can hear all the noise from the street during evening hours, which is to be expected and I felt like you had to walk on egg shells in the evening as other than the noise from outside the place was dead silent. Room was clean

The place has an excellent location. It is quiet. Staff is friendly, floor squeaks but it’s expected the carpet to the stairs at the back house could use a deep clean

Incredibly friendly staff. We were on the 3rd floor and there was a keirig in the hallway. Very convenient in the early morning. Breakfast was made to order. Snacks available all day😁

This property is about a half block from King Street. Quiet street, welcoming staff, good bed in nice large well appointed room. Afternoon tea, made to order breakfast, coffee available all day long. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, and historical sights. Convenient parking in the back at a reasonable rate. Good internet service

We loved the charm of this inn. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We ended up walking everywhere and only used our car when we went to a plantation tour and to get back to the airport. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.
