A welcoming and lovely spot to stay in Picton. We stayed in the one of the cottages and it was excellent. Very comfortable rooms, very private and had everything we needed. A delicious breakfast too !

Great B&B just off the town centre. Pick up from the late ferry was very useful. Upgraded to cottage was nice and goid service.

Thank you for a wonderful night stay! You have a lovely home. It’s wonderful how walkable Picton is for everything

No one available to meet us at the property - had to go to a nearby hotel to ring for someone to open up. No wardrobe or facility to hang clothes. No extra blanket. Two conditioners, no shampoo. Yard area very untidy.
Lovely breakfast and welcoming glass of wine. Close to town, great location.

We stayed for a night only in this hotel not far from the ferry terminal. The host made a very good impression on us. We felt very welcomed and comfortable with this and also the apartment was pleasant and clean without luxuory. In sum, a nice place which we could recommend.

Quaint little cottage and within a short walk of everything on offer at Picton

We loved everything about The Gables and have already recommended it to friends and family.

Just minutes from the ferry and bus terminals, I was able to disembark from my ferry and walk to the Gables. My hostess upgraded me from a room in the main house to my own cabin out back and it was beautiful. The Andante Cottage was spotless and everything was new and lovingly care for. I would happily stay there again. My hostess brought a breakfast tray to my room, with more food than I could possibly eat in one sitting. Everything was delicious. As if all that weren't enough, my hostess transported my luggage to her workplace, which was across the street from the bus station, so I could spend the morning exploring the town before collecting my things from her and heading on.

I stayed in the cottage and it was lovely. A delicious breakfast was served at the time I asked. Bed was super comfortable.

Gables B&B was a brief but delightful experience..our host was up very late to greet our arrival as the ferry was delayed..Gables B&B is full of character and charm and would definitely recommend to friends

Room was large and roomy bathroom was separated from the room, central position to the town

Lovely stay at the newly renovated Mariners room. Was welcomed by Eden and provided a tour of the house and offered some wine. I was only passing through for a few hours before catching the ferry so did not have time for breakfast, but the common room looked very well presented. Everything was spotless. Would recommend if you need somewhere to stay in Picton.

The Wifi internet is not strong in the backyard rooms, we need to go outside to have internet access.
The rest was everything perfect.

Very comfortable for a brief stay before a ferry sailing

An older style house and rooms. Comfortable for just an overnight stay.

I was a bit disappointed. Brochure says there was a welcome drink and nibbles. Room s are upstairs. No elevator. Hard for oldies. Had to ask for help to use Lounge TV., none in room. No info on Internet access in lounge. No coffee/tea in rooms. Have to get downstairs. Had to ask for milk as none therein afternoon or night. We really felt we were imposing on the owners by being there. Charm of staying at a historic house spoiled by the lack of guest service.

The Gables was very convenient for come to and from Wellington on the Ferry. We enjoyed a glass of wine and backgammon on the lovely front porch. This location is perfect for walking to town for dinner. There are several beautiful hikes within walking distance as well. We would highly recommended staying at this location.

the staff were very friendly and we loved the welcoming glass of wine on arrival which we also liked. We would recommend you to friends and others and we would also come back but this time we will try your restaurant out. thank you

It was like a time warp back to the 1980s.

We had a studio at the back of the premises which was very comfortable. A very nice breakfast was left in our room each day. Very close to town centre which was good.

Very pleasant welcoming staff at midnight when we arrived off the late Ferry. Lovely breakfast with fantastic fresh muffins.

Very nice people and great breakfast. Two of the three rooms inside the house have been done up. We stayed in the Mariner and the bathroom was for us only but across a small hall, so wasnt a problem. The smallest room we had a peak in and it is lovely as well, small but has it own ensuite. The new owners are working on the old place and clearly love it. Every one we meet were helpful and we have a fantastic dinner at Escape to Picton across the road. Thanks we will be back.

Great location, easy to get around everywhere in Picton. The room was a bit small, especially for 3 persons. Pleasant but not great - could be updated a little better. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were very friendly.

Had to hunt down someone (not sure who but helped her find right keys) to check in. Didn't have a NZ phone but the another hunting guest did (but had not phoned as English not solid).
Not sure when owners thought folks might check in. Arrived at 5.
Guest floor felt like my mother's house back in the 70s. Room way too small for 2 - web site does mention this but Expedia does not.
Fussed at us about whether we could keep our free parking. No laundry. (Both listed as available on Expedia)
Breakfast was fine. Hot option kind of listed both on website and expedia but not offered.
Location is good.
OK if stuck but otherwise avoid.

We stayed in one of the cottages (there are two, other option would be a true B&B room with a full cooked breakfast). We had yogurt, fresh fruit bowl, bread, jams, milk, and coffee with options of cereals in our room. The place had lots of character and charm. Unfortunately there was no wifi connection in our cottage, but you can go to the main house for connection. Staff very friendly. Walls very thin, but really nice place to call home for a night or two. Enjoyed our stay!

We were greatly assisted during our stay by a wwinderful person, Warren. He checked us in / out and delivered awesome food to our door daily. There is no AC but Warren brought 3 fans to cool our suite. He also took us on a one day tour of several wineries.

Great location for the Picton to Wellington ferry. Very helpful service. The room was very old fashioned and dated and the bed was uncomfortable. Continental breakfast was excellent.
