Beautiful hotel and very comfortable rooms. Excellent restaurant

I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel’s design is vibrant and stylish, with each room beautifully decorated.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile - It’s clear they take great pride in creating a welcoming experience for guests. Overall, I’d highly recommend Hotel Indigo for anyone looking for a memorable, high-quality stay with a touch of local charm. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, style, and service, and I’ll definitely be returning!

Lovely saty made to feel really welcombe breakfast we amazing rooms clean

It was a one night stop on our way from Western Wales to Cornwall and a much needed rest between our destinations. It was a perfect City respite for our road trip :)
4.7
We really loved the room and the quirky features. We had a room with miners lamps and other Welsh touches. It was a great size, with a fabulous shower. Bed was super comfy. Will definitely return.
Our room had an obscured window so not sure what we were facing?
4.7
Really friendly staff.
Not much natural light in room, as small courtyard facing window, but very comfortable, and no street noise

Firstly, the location is excellent, close to the shops and bars, NCP parking a few minutes walk away, and the castle is just down the road if that's your thing.
Our room was quite large and nicely decorated, clean and quiet. We were given a disability room, so I'm not sure that reflects the rest of the rooms, but it was fine for us.
The bed wasn't great as the mattress seemed a poor quality sprung mattress - there was an annoying squeak even from breathing, so that should be improved, especially for the nightly price bracket being charged.
My biggest gripe was the hotel bar. Although it was a nice place, the prices were a rip off, even for a city centre. Not sure £20 is right for a mediocre cocktail and a lager.
On a positive note to finish, the reception staff were lovely and we were able to check in early which is a bonus. I would stay again, I wouldn't visit the bar and would hope for a more comfortable mattress!

Last minute getaway on a Sunday night. Asked at check in whether we wanted a quiet room or city facing. We mentioned that it was our 4th visit and jokingly said to put us in the best room available. We were pleasantly surprised by the room. No view bit a lovely spacious room, tastefully decorated.
4.7
Very lovely receptionist checked me in. The food in the restaurant was delicious with good service.
4.7
Lovely hotel with original features and a really cozy vibe, Great beds, nice extras. Really good breakfasts too
4.7
The location is very good. The cleanliness and overall look of the hotel is also very good. The most disappointing thing is that the bed was very soft. New mattresses would greatly improve the stay. Also breakfast was v average. The staff need to write down orders and also the food quality should be improved
4.7
Great spot, city centre but quiet at night
4.7
It was a clean, friendly hotel located right in the city centre. It was quiet and my wife and I got a good night's sleep. Comfortable, clean bed and a great shower. The only thing wrong was that the bulb had gone on one of the bedside lights but not really a major issue.
4.7
Awful stay, the bed was very uncomfortable and couldn’t change rooms. If you like lumpy mattresses stay here. I now need physio

Another repeat visit to this hotel. The staff are fantastic when you check in and out. Very friendly and helpful. Location, rooms, bar and food options all 10/10.
Highly recommend

Staff were kind a helpful, room very cozy, and the surrounding area is great for walking and just soaking up the Cardiff vibes.

We loved our stay!! The location, the food, the staff all were amazing. The rooms were large and beautifully decorated.
4.7
The hotel itself is amazing! Staff were incredible. Location is very convenient however I must say I was a little shocked on the cleanliness of the city centre.

Can’t fault our stay from our first greeting to farewell everything was excellent and I’m very fussy ! Room was quirky in a good way very clean bathroom great with huge shower, we were asked if we wanted a quiet room and we never heard a thing even though we were in an arcade in middle of Cardiff. Secure entry and exit to hotel . Beds really comfy, breakfast great , All staff excellent.Would definitely return.

I stayed at this hotel while I was settling my daughter into her uni accommodation.

Check in was busy but I wasn’t greeted with a smile or any pleasantries. We arrived 10 mins before booking said we could and were told not all the rooms were ready, because it had been busy the night before, which to be honest wasn’t our problem. Receptionist Clara was undoubtedly stressed and whilst I appreciate that it was a busy changeover time, we felt like we were an inconvenience. Not 100% focussed on our check in and dealing with other clients over us whilst taking payments etc. I had booked 3 rooms months ago and it was my fault that I had not stipulated we would like rooms close together, we were allocated 3 disabled access rooms in 3 different floors. They were a great spec if you did have disability needs but that meant the bathrooms had low fittings for wheelchair users and far too low for a person standing to use the sink etc. we asked at reception to change rooms but were only able to change one to a standard room. The hotel did give us a discount on the 2 accessible rooms we had to keep but overall felt that we were an in an inconvenience and not valued guests. I don’t usually complain but I was disappointed with our stay to be honest.

Very nice room with an annexe area so very spacious. Generous complimentary mini bar and comfortable room with very powerful shower.
4.7
Warm welcome, lovely staff, bar served nice cocktails. Quiet room despite its very central location on Queen's Street.
Few issues with attention to detail - cobwebs in the window, robe had previous guest's makeup on. The mattress was fine for one night but very soft and below par compared to many other hotels these days.
The shower was excellent, and provided toiletries were good but conditioner ran out on first use.

Staff were very helpful, cheerful & friendly

10/10 stay. Central to everything.
Parking reduced down to £17 for 24hrs

The hotel should have advised us in advance that the lift was broken and given us a free cancellation option to stay elsewhere.
Our room was on the 5th floor, the restaurant on the 6th.
The main lift was broken, so we had to go out the hotel, down the Arcade and use another lift to the 4th floor. Then it was along various corridors and up the stairs to our room.
There was no hot water to the sink in the ensuite and the hotel replied to that message 13hrs later to state the maintenance team didn't work weekends.
On our last morning, we ordered coffee at breakfast and in the time it took to eat cereal, drink juice, toast bread and eat a cooked breakfast the coffee had not arrived - that was despite asking 3 different staff a total of 4 times.
To be honest, we'd have probably had a better experience at Travelodge.
We had considered eating in the 6th floor restaurant "with stunning views over the Cardiff skyline" but there aren't any views, there aren't any dining tables within 15 feet of any window.
Basically, this hotel is lost and needs a complete shakeup.
They could also remote the references to the old Pierre-White branded restaurant on the TVs too.

The hotel was located in the centre of cardiff. The hotel was very nice inside but the lift to get to the breakfast in the morning and the roof top bar wasn't working and we have mobility issues and found it very hard to get to the top 2 floors this is the only problem we had with the hotel so i cant see us coming back
4.7
An odd hotel. Reception in a shopping centre, a very dark room so the need for lights in daytime. A maze of corridors with no sign to the lift. Bar/Restaurant on the 6th floor but the lifts were broken. Breakfast was poor with tiny portions. I didn’t know you could get eggs that small. Air con became noisy during the night.
4.7
Everything was so nice, a real boutique hotel, with quirky designs, but with a real high standard and homely feel.
However, by mattress was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on.
It was somehow soft and firm at the same time and very, very lumpy. Waking up every hour or so with back ache.
I would 100% recommend this hotel, but if you're staying one night test that mattress before going to bed as getting a room change at 2am might not be be easy.
4.7
Lift broken to go to breakfast room. Waited over an hour for breakfast even thou we had booked a slot it was chaos!
4.7
only stayed the one night on business. Parking was a 5 min walk away, i thought the hotel had its own parking. The lifts were not working, but there was alternative lifts i could use. The room was much nicer than i assumed, and i got upgraded, this was a nice surprise as the mini bar and treats were free. The ladies on checkin were super polite and very helpful indeed.. over all it was a pleasant 1 night stay.

Everything was perfect

The hotel was clean, spacious and breakfast was very nice. Would recommend this hotel.
4.7
Very nice hotel, friendly inviting reception staff, room was nice and little quirky, shower was excellent, lovely hot and refreshing all high quality furnishings in bathroom.
Just few things I would say mattress was very soft (personally needs to be firmer), shower screen needs re sealing as water leaking out, and headboard has a little peeling on the leather part.
Niggly things to say about but wouldn’t stop me recommending to anyone and will look to stay here again if coming to events in Cardiff again for sure.

Rose and Maya are very friendly and helpful.
My stay was lightened up by their laughters.
The hotel is quite far from the train station but still in the centre of the city.
4.7
We were asked when we checked in if we would like a room with a view or a quieter room we chose a room with a view, when we got to our room there was no view at all as the windows were opaque, Spoke to reception about this but she simply said “ we must have run out and walked off “
4.7
Front desk staff on check-in were amazing, and made us feel very welcome! Air conditioning in room was amazing! Although the room was a bit smaller than expected, the space was clean and furnishings a lovely surprise. The bed was not nearly as firm as we would have liked, and might be long overdue a mattress change. The windows in the room were an absolute waste as they faced ugly exterior walls and staircases. Even with a room on the first level, it was very quiet, with the exception of loud drilling in an adjacent room our first morning there. Room staff was pleasant enough but, unfortunately, our requests for replacement of hand soap (bottle was empty) and coffee packets (only two packets in room on check-in) went unheeded. Not sure whether it was due to language barrier or short supply of the items requested, as when coffee was then requested from the front desk staff, we were given only two packets.
Overall, the hotel did not feel quite up to the level of a four star property. We felt that it is not entirely as advertised. Not sure whether a room on a higher floor would have provided a better impression. Unfortunately, don't think we will be staying at this property again.

Stayed over for a concert & enjoyed our stay, as we always do.

I booked two days with my wife to relax and visit the town. I read the reviews and it seemed good. Got this choice for the breakfast reviews. But it turned a terrible experience.
Poor service both mornings. Breakfast on order and small portions. While I was at buffet to get some fruits, the same service let another client sitting on the table assigned. No many options and the drinks served on a table, with the only option of coffee or tea. Coffee was terrible, something wrong with it - I am sure I was not the only one to complain in there.
