About this house rental
Make yourself at home among our treasures. Each room has its own theme to make your stay a truly unique experience. It is a collaboration of our past, present and future plans, as well as things we adore, places we've been and ancestor's artwork and books.
The bedrooms were inspired by what we're studying this summer; Mahatma Gandhi, Ancient Egypt and sushi!
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast on the patio while the kids play or read one of our 100 year old books in a quiet corner.
The first thing you notice when you walk in the house is the art gallery wall in the living room. The oldest piece is over 60 years old of my father as a baby, painted by my late great-great uncle. This is a treasure and when my late grandmother gave it to me, the gallery wall inspiration followed. And just like that, it grew with old and new. Adding quickly was my husband’s first father’s day gift, a charcoal piece by Andy Espinoza. We continued with my grandmother’s landscapes, my daughter’s artworks, my late great aunt’s embroidery, my husband’s paint by numbers of a photo we took in Venice (he needs all the help he can get with art – his words), my sister’s painting of a young woman from when she was in high school, my nephew, sister in law and father in law's paintings as well as a couple of mine! We've packed it and we love it.
For me, this wall starts the understanding of who we are, where we came from and where we are going. Trying to raise two girls to have a better grasp of the world around then, more understanding of who people are and why we have the problems we do, begins with the past.
We can’t nurture correctly until we understand what needs nurtured.
Our home is subject to our journey. This is where we began and we come back to. It’s a collection of things we love and adore, people and places we’ve studied. While you enjoy our home, we will be continuing to discover what else is out there.
As an interior decorator and party planner, I’ve had to reel it in a few times in order to get our place posted. We plan to continue to change and develop the house in time. I want our home to be perfect for our guests and exude all the stories I want it to tell, but it’s not perfect. Built in 1969, side-to-side split with many stairs; the bathroom showers are on the list for updates, a sand and stain on the hardwood floors would be wonderful and new cabinetry in the kitchen are hopefully around the corner. While these things are on our agenda, we are excited to share our home with others that can see the value and effort we’ve put into it for you.
Please note again, there are stairs to enter the front door. This opens into the living room, kitchen and dining room. There are 7 more stairs to go up to the hall bathroom and three bedrooms with another 7 stairs up to the last bedroom. From the kitchen there is a full set of stairs down to the TV room with another 7 stairs down to the laundry room.

House was perfect and such a cute place to stay for ours girls weekend. Location was great for all of us traveling to KC area. Very easy to find.
Eclectic fun decor and loved that each bedroom had a theme. Well furnished for our needs. Seating on back patio was great to play games and cards.
Communication with owner was quick when needed.
Highly recommend for a stay in Olathe.

We had a wonderful stay! The owners have clearly considered what additional extras will make the trip easier for families and has made sure to provide all the necessities and then some! My daughter loved having toys to play with and a wonderful outdoor area. The chess board was a fun treat…we taught the 5 year old to play! The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy while we were there. Neighborhood felt very safe and location was ideal as we traveled around the area. We are looking forward to staying again!

After a hiccup with the check in code, things were great! After the host got us the code, things were great and it was nice to have a space to sit and visit, drink coffee, etc. Our party turned out to only be 4 adults instead of 6 with a toddler, but it was still nice to have a house to stay in vs. hotel rooms.

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy home. It was nice to have room to spread out with our family. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The main reason we booked this house was the outdoor play area for our children, and it was wonderful to have that extra fenced in space for them to play. They also enjoyed the children's toys and books. It was a good area of town to stay and the hosts were very responsive and we had a lovely stay!

We loved how clean the property was, how quickly the host responded to us, and with all the information we needed. This was the cleanest property we've stayed at in all the years we've used VRBO.
Approved places for eating are the dining room, kitchen, and out back, so don't expect to be able to snack while watching TV. That was okay with us, but wouldn't have been something we'd want if we were going to be hanging out at the house most of the time.
Watch out on the front stoop - I'm sure the host will be attending to repairs when they can. So ... depending on what you're looking for, and whether you're good with stairs in the house (our 92 year old relative was winded), we highly recommend it.

We made a family trip to visit some extended family while coordinating to play a memorial golf tournament. This location was perfect for us and very easy to get to where we needed to go. Clean & comfortable space, kids were entertained by toys and plenty of room for our family.

This house had everything we needed as a family with 2 small children. Close to shopping, grocery, gas stations, and etc. The backyard was spacious and had a swingset for kids. Loved the downstairs tv area for a separate resting/play area. House was equipped with enough towels and toiletries for our week long stay. 10/10 would recommend.

This place was great. The location, area, and access to everything was perfect. Lots of options for food and shopping in Olathe and Overland Park, so everything was close. It was only about a 30 minute drive to arrowhead stadium for the concert so not bad at all. The house was great and we loved the neighborhood and area.

The house was just a pictured. Clean, easy to get to, close to where we needed to be. Found plenty good restaurants to eat at near by. The kids loved the backyard. It was a great place for them to release some energy and not have to worry about them. Definitely a great place.

This is a very convenient property for those traveling with small children. Playground and toys were most appreciative. The house easily accommodated our seven guests. Room decor is eclectic and fun. Had a great stay.

This property was absolutely stunning and perfect in every way!! We had our three young toddlers with us and they loved the toys and backyard play set. Everything was so clean and the beds were beyond comfortable. No detail was overlooked. Location was spot on with a Starbucks 2 mins away!! We absolutely loved staying here! My kiddos didn’t want to leave. We will be back!!!
