Our family of 8 had a wonderful time exploring the Mount Rainier area on our recent trip to Washington. Hiking and fishing were our favorite activities. The mountain home belonging to the Pickering family was a perfect place to stay. The location and the amenities were perfect for cooking, relaxing, and spending time together.

We had a relaxing and fun long weekend enjoying the house and all that came with it.
Everything was seamless and well communicated and we’re hoping to return soon!

The place is amazing. The house is huge with space for everyone. The details were great, from the firewood, to the welcoming package, and a full spice rack. The property manager was very helpful and allowed us to checkout late after we skied in the mountains.

Beautiful peaceful setting for our family holiday getaway. Two floors of spaciousness with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. This is a luxurious cabin with room for everyone to have their own space or all be in one place. The trimmed Christmas tree was straight out of a Rockwell painting. The magic of the season was all around us right down to the snow flurries. We had a wonderful time catching up, baking, playing board games, and making new memories. During our stay several Elk stopped by to say” Howdy” which added to the splendor.
Dave and Leslie are excellent hosts, they are not only thoughtful, helpful, and responsive, but the communication was easy. The kitchen and bathrooms (essentially the entire house) were stocked very well. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more, Thank you.
It was a truly amazing experience for everyone aged 81yrs -5 months, we look forward to our next stay!

I would like to start by saying WOW! What an amazing house! Also, Dave and Leslie are spectacular host. We showed up and they had a gift basket waiting on us. The house was exactly as described and was in an excellent location. We had elk in the yard multiple days. I highly recommend this place!! We thoroughly enjoyed making new memories here!

Great place to stay for Mt Rainier. About 25 minutes from Sunrise but easy beautiful drive. Owners were great and the place was very comfortable. Definitely recommend for any family.

This property is an amazing log cabin (log mansion, really) in Crystal River Ranch and it truly felt like we were welcoming into someone’s home rather than staying at a rental property.

We had a tremendous stupendous time skiing Crystal Mountain and returning to the log cabin David built. Everything is better than the pictures and the big elk greeted us on our return each afternoon
Dave called to remind us of getting parking reservations on the holiday time and met us for checkin to go over how everything worked could not have been a better vacation!!

Gorgeous, well appointed mountain home close to Crystal Mountain. Our whole stay was wonderful. David met us at the home and walked us through everything which was so nice and welcoming. You can really tell this is a second home vs a rental property, as everything was high quality and very comfortable. Great for groups and well set-up for children and teens. I look forward to renting again in the future!

My family stayed in this fun log cabin for 3 nights and skied Crystal. It was situated a great location to get to the resort everyday. It was huge- definitely big enough for a couple of families to stay. The cabin was pristinely clean and David and his wife had so many little extras there for us and my girls. We will definitely be back!

This house was fantastic for 8 of us for a long ski weekend. Plenty of space for all of us, the house itself is incredible, and the homeowners are very thoughtful hosts. Comfortable beds, great showers, games and an X-box for the kids, a gift basket awaiting our arrival, and the homeowners were easy to reach when we had questions. The house is super convenient to Crystal Mountain and would also be great for access to Rainier during the summer. What a special place.

As I was searching for place that could accommodate the whole family (all 6 of us) near Crystal Mountain, I came upon this dream listing in VRBO. Looking at the pictures, it was exactly what I was looking for - a literal log cabin (really - logs!) in the woods with enough rooms to easily accommodate all the kids. I needed a place where everyone could just relax and decompress. The kids had traveled a long way from the East Coast to be a home for the Holidays.
Leslie and Dave were just the most wonderful hosts - great communication and patience with me getting the paperwork to them late, and then being so wonderful and friendly when we arrived to walk us through the home and all of its amenities. My wife and kids could not be happier with our 4 day retreat. We enjoyed the cozy home, great skiing at Crystal, as well as the odd pack of Elk (huge!) that would come across the property and just gaze at you - with no fear.
If you are looking for the perfect getaway from Seattle with convenient skiing in a peaceful and tranquil setting, I highly recommend this home. It will certainly become a regular place for us.
