Must stay!!

I can't even describe how incredible this place was. It was so grand and the room was massive! The lovely staff reception helped us get a last minute massage which was definitely needed after a long week of walking everywhere. The restaurant across the road is a must!! They have the best gyoza and karaage!

Für Kurzaufenthalt okay.

Der Zugang zu den verschiedenen Bädern. Die Aufenthaltsbereiche im Lobbybereich sind sehr schön gestaltet. Kostenlose Getränke und Snacks. Kostenlose Yukatas.

Die Bilder auf Booking.vom vermitteln den Eindruck, dass das Hotel in der Natur liegt. Das ist nicht der Fall. Es liegt an der Hauptstraße von Kaga Onsen. Die Zimmer sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, könnten eine Renovierung vertragen. Die Bar war geschlossen. Der Massagebereich war nicht abgetrennt. Das dazu gebuchte Dinner wurde sehr lieblos von einer älteren Bedienung serviert und war dafür recht teuer. Da die Bedienung absolut kein Englisch sprach wusste man nicht, was serviert wurde. Spontan konnte man abends nicht im Restaurant essen, es musste immer vorher reserviert werden.Auch die Restaurants in der Stadt musste man verbuchen, vor allem am Wochende. Haben dann gegenüber des Hotels in einer kleinen Kneipe gegessen, was sehr lecker war.

Very good

Huge yet cozy thermal complex; lots of fun things to do - bars, restaurants, two onsens plus two other that you need to book extra cause they’re private, complimentary snacks, sweets and drinks. Staff was amazing, in spite of my very bad Japanese. There’s a very nice looking jazz bar around the corner.

The town is nothing special, even though summer isn’t probably the best time. Fall or winter, it must be a different story.

Brilliant experience

Stunning room with large private bath. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional, the public onsens were really nice. Breakfast was excellent. Everything you'd expect from a quality hotel They organise minibuses from Kagaonsen train station too

Interesting experience

The shuttle picked us up from bus station. Our room was quite large and traditional. The dinner was really good, quite the experience. Our waiter was so nice and helpful and spoke English pretty well.

Had to wait to check in until 3pm was annoying. Middle of nowhere so couldn't really go anywhere. Location not great, no scenery just a random town. The onsen is OK but we had better on our trip. Our room was nice but the bathroom was old and pink and had a faint sewage smell.

Peaceful, very helpful staff and nice Onsen. Had the evening meal and breakfast which were both delicious! The shuttle service to/from the train station was also very convenient and well organised.

Stay is good, don’t recommend booking dinner. food.

Both public and private Onsen is good, I recommend going straight after check in to avoid a crowd. Private Onsen is good, but at an extra cost.

No towels in the rooms. Didn’t enjoy the dinner meal. Onsen water quality average.

Disappointing

In house Onsen was terrific. Food too. Very close to some great sightseeing locations. I didn't go anywhere but lots of great bus options to go near by.

The main staff member that spoke English and always helped me had a terrible smell of sweat on her every time she helped me. Once, she came into my room and the smell stayed in the air for hours...

Great for a quick getaway

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even brought kids size yukatas for my toddlers to wear during our short stay. Rooms were spacious. We took the shuttle bus from Kagaonsen station. Onsens were not crowded when we went. Dinner courses were amazing. There was so much food. Buffet style breakfast food was as expected. Also had access to their sister onsen.

Great Hotel for a Nice and relaxing stay in the Kagaonsen area! Highly recommended!

Considering the fact that the hotel is located in a very remote part of the town, we were surprised and impressed by the scale of the hotel which is massive. We love the traditional design of the entire premise and the rooms were just so pleasantly setup with full comfort in mind for the guests. The hotel also have many staffs around to help with anything we need. Most of them speak good English so it was easy to communicate with them. We booked for the kaiseki dinner which was surprising good and comes with really quality food. Also a great value for money meal considering the quantity of the food being served. Also like the drum performance and the in house onsen facilities. Overall we truly enjoy the short stay at the hotel!

- Hotel is a little far from the train station but they provide shuttle service to ferry us to and back with no frills

A jewel in Yamashiro Onsen

As of now the best Japanese traditional hotel I've ever stayed. Spacious onsen, spacious room, awesome service and an incredible choice for breakfast. A pity I was late to book the traditional dinner. Also I was so lucky that they staffed also an italian receptionist. She helped me so much.

the staff and the food served are very nice, the hot spring is very beautiful as well. very spacious room and very well equipped.
