Lovely location in Clifton - great independent shops and restaurants within walking distance

We had a great 2 night stay at the Victoria square. Room was clean, comfortable and airy. Breakfast for £13pp was superb value - quality ingredients, fresh and delicious. We will definitely be staying here again on another visit to Bristol.

Staff greeting was friendly and efficient. Parking at the rear of the hotel was very welcome in crowded part of Bristol but hard to locate at first. Room small but had all we needed. Breakfast basic but service good.

Super clean and fresh room. We had a twin room it was spacious and airy. Based on the lower ground our view was of the car park but we werent there for a view, it was chosen for its location to the shops, bars and cafes.
Would definitely book again.

Beautiful hotel. Our room was in brilliant condition maybe even newly decorated. We would definitely stay again.

This is a good place to stay when you need to be near Clifton college for exams and the like. It is near restaurants and various cute shops. I got a good night of rest and the bath was a delight.
4.1
Quick and straightforward check-in, which was very welcome after a long journey. The room was small but clean, comfortable and functional and ideal for what I wanted. Will definitely stay here again.

I booked 3 rooms but my room was in a.different building. I felt as though we were in the dungeon! Room.was big but vwry dated . The bathroom was grubby. No lock on the door and insects crawling on the bathroom.floor.. my daughters stayed in the other building and her room.was much nicer.

Hotel was in a great location and staff were very helpful. However, it was in need of an improvement in the decoration (which had started) and some of the room furniture was a bit battered. Once decorated I think it will be much smarter. Be aware that there is a charge for parking which is shown if you look down the booking info; I did a search on hotels with free parking so didn’t look and was a bit surprised when charged but it was fine.

A lovely place

Great location in Clifton village. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and we had a lovely breakfast. Parking was also easy.

It was very comfortable, the room was very clean and had everything we needed. Location was perfect for our stay.

Fab location for the town or walking to the centre of Clifton and Suspension Bridge. Lovely hotel with plenty of parking. Comfortable rooms. Would defo recommend and stay again.

Great location and value fir money especially the parking

All good. Convenient and comfortable
4.1
Sadly no lift, because it is an old building. Otherwise very comfortable and easy to walk into Clifton village or town.

Check in was poor - asked for my card a second time and when asked why was then told it was void the first time. Given wrong directions and wrong card key to the room - had to go back to reception to be given correct key. Room had no window - only light was the glass in the door. Disappointed to say the least. Bathroom in need of refurbishment.

Stayed in a ground floor room. It’s ok, not exited stay though. Quite clean, shower was tiny, parking isn’t free (unless it’s Sunday or bank holiday). Good for 1-2 nights, location is great for walking, just be aware that Bristol is a hilly city

Second time staying here, love the hotel, friendly staff, breakfast is lovely! Good location for local amenities. Clifton village is nice! Would recommend this place for value for money!

Great location for what we needed to do. Generally the hotel is a little tired.
4.1
Great value hotel and really well located. My single room was very small but was comfortable and had everything I needed. There was quite a lot of road noise during the early hours but fine once the window was closed.
4.1
great room with a great garden view. room was a great size with a big bed which was very comfy and a lovely bathroom.

The lights did not work and they did not fix it after reporting it. Also the curtains were so poor quality, letting in the street light which led to poor quality of sleep. The room was so small even a hobbit would complain.
4.1
A nice little hitel, hany for Clifton and situated jus off the birdcage.
Bed a little short for 6"5' Me

Great hotel, will definitely book again, really large rooms and a comfy bed

Hotel is comfortable and convenient for Bristol exploration. Decor is slightly dated but has modern conveniences.
We had some trouble with the card keys but staff are extremely helpful and immediately sorted the issues.

Lovely hotel, location & great breakfast. We had a small double which was ‘very’ small but fine.
4.1
Very good hotel and location if the Clifton area is for you.
4.1
Great location and lovely building. Parking on site is available for c. 10 cars which is great, although there is also parking in the surrounding area. About a 20 minute to the centre and lots of cafes/shops within a 5 minute stroll.
The only negative we had was that we found it quite noisy, not the road outside but the hotel guests and so I think the walls must have been thin. That being said, we would definitely stay here again and the staff were really friendly.

Great stay. Really friendly staff :). Only dropped a few points because you can hear everything from room.

Hotel served its purpose, but felt tired and dirty. Hallway was not vacuumed and bedroom had paper peeling off walls
4.1
Stayed here whilst at concert at Aston gate walkable distance

Lovely Georgian building which must have once been the home of a wealthy family. Great situation in Clifton Village on one corner of Victoria Square.
The room was very clean and simply but nicely furnished.
The receptionist was delightful.
Very good value for money
4.1
Great location in Clifton, very clean and comfortable for a short stay. It can be a little noisy if room is facing the Square but generally quiet. Very close to restaurants and cafes of Clifton.
4.1
Nice and clean in my room , nice comfortable bed , staff were friendly and made to feel welcome, the radiator in the room could do with replacing as the paint was peeling off of it
4.1
The basement rooms have a view of a brick wall and when cars go by the room shakes making it difficult to sleep. The lady on the desk was rude and abrupt to us and other guests.

First time at the Victoria Square and we can’t wait to return, lovely welcome from Claire on reception who really made our stay pleasant. Our room was newly decorated and was superb, peaceful, calm and comfortable, we could easily have stayed longer!
The hotel was perfect for us as it’s one of the very few located in Clifton where we base ourselves. Parking is a gift, £9 per night and plenty of spaces although it’s first come first served. We didn’t have breakfast but there are several options in this fantastic area. We’ll return!

Great hotel staff excellent and in a magical setting
Thankyou

The property itself was beautiful, reception very helpful & dogs made extremely welcome, however we were kept awake by both road noise & other guests unfortunately.
And as for breakfast, allow plenty of time for the disorganised effort.
Such a shame as they can't be faulted on room presentation & dog bowls & towels for them was a lovely touch.
