A gem, my new favourite London hotel. Fresh, great staff, calming, plush (the latter not normally my style but here I appreciate it). Unbeatable location.
4.7
Booked as an overnight after game at Twickenham. Price is the price on weekends like this but really surprised, location the way the building looks and when you walk inside bit of a wow factor. Staff were really nice and polite even I turned up drunk after the game. Breakfast was great but to be honest I did not have much as back in the road to get home. Will stay again on another London trip
4.7
Nice and convenient property for visiting family. One thing to note, the property has a water softener so all the water is run through that. They also give out large bottles of water for drinking which is nice. The location is tucked away enough from the busier parts of Richmond, however it’s a short 5min walk to the train station. There are multiple grocery stores nearby and Gail’s has good coffee and breakfast.
4.7
Darling property in a cute safe town outside of London. Easy to get in and out of London on the public metro system. Good breakfast and great staff.

We visited Richmond for one night and chose this hotel based on other reviews. We wanted to visit Richmond because of our love for Ted Lasso. The hotel is very walkable to the downtown area and not far from the train station. The property is updated and very well decorated. The room was a bit of a tight space but we were very happy with it. We had a lovely view and the bed was super comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. The bathroom was more spacious than we expected. We really loved our stay here, even though it was short. We would definitely book here again.
4.7
Excellent location. Super friendly and helpful staff. I would request a room not facing street but I checked late in the evening. I would definitely go back
4.7
It's a nice hotel, great location with a quality finish. However, it is very noisy both from road noise and other guests having loud conversations in the lobby and hallways. It is only the noise that lets it down, everything else is great.
4.7
The Selwyn was Clean, staff very friendly and breakfast was good. The family would come and stay again.
4.7
GREAT location and lots of choices for restaurants and local color
4.7
Really comfortable room, nice amenities, and a great location for the station, the town centre, the river and more. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, even when we came back late at night. Great local options for food and drinks
4.7
a clean and lovely property
4.7
Faultless. All class.
4.7
The room was way too small for two people with large Luggages. The Hotel was very beautiful and the staff was kind and the breakfast was excellent.
4.7
We had a wonderful stay while at the Selwyn Hotel. All staff were extremely helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We were able to walk to and from public transportation (trains) as needed, which is always a huge plus. We also enjoyed walking to local places for morning coffee and dinner.
4.7
Many good points.

Lovely stay. Friendly staff.
4.7
Beautiful small hotel: lovely furnishings, capable and helpful staff, air-con in summer (!), and extensive breakfast. This is definitely the place to stay for a high-end experience if you want to be just a 4 min walk from restaurants or the tube/rail (express trains 19 min to Waterloo, running twice an hour). But - the rooms are very, very "cozy." We had the largest room avail (other than the family room), but after two days felt a bit hemmed in. If there were more public spaces to gather, read, or watch tv, it might feel more luxe. The armchairs in the lobby seem more for a brief sit; the breakfast area has afternoon wine/beer on request but isn't staffed as a bar; and intermittent rain renders the small outdoor patio not very useful. We'd stay again if we had business in Richmond, though. Very kind staff, excellent location.

Great stay at the Selwyn! Very comfortable stay for a family of 4. Room was beautiful!

The Selwyn hotel was fabulous. The staff were amazing and the location was also great for us.
Would highly recommend
4.7
Nice stay in a lovely hotel close to the many sights in Richmond. Hotel is beautifully decorated and staff very attentive. Small touches like complimentary coffee throughout the day in the lobby or outside on the patio were appreciated. As other reviewers have said the rooms and bathroom were on the small side so perhaps a consideration if staying more than a couple of nights. Enjoyed our stay, thank you.
4.7
This property is nice, excellent staff, but it felt over priced for the offering. It kind of felt like they are capitalizing on the Ted Lasso effect of Richmond. If I would have known that was a "thing" I probably would stay outside of Richmond. My son enjoyed laying in the near by park and watching the planes come in to Heathrow. One other thing, this is in the Heathrow flight path, but it wasn't super loud.
4.7
Richmond and the Selwyn are beautiful
4.7
Good location with shops nearby
4.7
Lovely property within walking distance to all Richmond has to offer. Easy to get in and out of central London. The room was clean and chic. The only down side after requesting an early check in prior to arrival was being told my room was ready when I arrived at 12:45 but it would be an extra charge or I had the option to wait an hour and a half in the reception. Whilst I understand this is their policy, it would be great customer service after a transatlantic flight to accommodate the guests.
4.7
Beautiful hotel with great service.
4.7
Oor stay at the hotel was enjoyable. Although a cooked breakfast was extra in cost the help yourself buffet breakfast was free. However, this isnt advertised and we only found out by accident. We made use of this as we only wanted coffee/toast/pastries/cereal at breakfast.
We found this Hotel very convenient to use as a base. It has a reasonably priced car park which we found useful.
4.7
The room was very small and had absolutely no storage for clothing except a tiny wardrobe. A large desk took up space in the room but no drawers to put clothes. No restaurant for dinner in the Hotel, but no fridge in the room to put your own food either. The Manager was not interested in receiving feedback on the room. Breakfast was good. Overpriced.
4.7
The staff was incredibly helpful and the beds were very comfortable.
4.7
I booked a comfort room. Based on the pics online, whilst small the room would be ok for me to do some work at the desk.
Reality. No desk. Tiny tiny room with little space around the bed. The bathroom tiny with a silly small sink. The bath/ shower is fine of you're a child.
For the money paid, I expected better.
4.7
This is a beautiful hotel and very clean. However, the rooms are extraordinarily small. And supposedly we had the biggest option in the Selwyn room. Thankfullly we only stayed for one night. If it were longer than that, I don't think I would have been able stay.
4.7
The room is very small. Part of them is relatively noisy.

I was book luxury room, and when I reach the hotel, the room is smaller than in the photo and different... no table and no chair .The window it's not open because it is a broken and no slippers inside the room... no safe box &I was asking the receptions name, Jeesy to give me one hour only late check out and she didn't accept it and it was not in the nice way...talal ...kuwait
4.7
Great location, close to train station (but not too close) and easy walk to all Richmond has to offer. Friendly and attentive staff. Super clean. Beautiful decor. Comfy bed. Well-appointed room. (No mini-fridge in room.) Loved it and will return.
4.7
Great stay!

Loved the area, the hotel is beautiful and staff so helpful. My only criticism is that we were on the lower ground floor and the room was very small could hardly swing a suitcase. But after all said and done had a fantastic weekend

Upon checking in, we were greeted and assisted by Luigi, who was very personable, friendly and eager to make our stay a great one! Some of our luggage was a bit unorganized due to traveling to various locations across England and Wales for the week. Without us even asking, Luigi jumped right in to help. He was also able to secure on-site parking, which initially did not seem possible due to our need for early access to our car the next morning for our flight home.
The room was clean and probably the quietest, given the number of floors and rooms. Lobby and dining areas were also impeccably clean and tastefully decorated.
The check out process was just as pleasant with Alejandro and Ilaria. Alejandro assisted with our now organized luggage and Illaria graciously offered us coffee to takeaway for our drive to the airport, though breakfast was not being served at the time of our early departure.
The accommodations and staff made our last day in the UK a pleasant and memorable one. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Feels like home away from home!
4.7
The staff were lovely but the room itself was super uncomfortable. The bed took up majority of the room with a tiny space to move around in. The temperature in the room was not great and the aircon was either too cold or too warm. I didn’t sleep well the days I stayed here.
4.7
Room too small for two people.
Poorly designed
4.7
Lovely boutique hotel, very nice staff & ideal location for shops, sights & transport.
