Staff were excellent , breakfast equally good.
However, the hotel is old and tired and there should be a health warning in regard to the steep winding staircases.
The rooms could benefit from the addition of body lotion, tissues and a coffee maker.
The hotel has a good vibe and we would come back.

It was fine. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good

A mixed stay. The room was spacious but noisy unfortunately. We were above the bar and below another room. The floors were creaky and I woke up when the upstairs guest got up in the night and early morning. The bathroom was tired - the bath panel falling off. But the shower pressure was great. There were few places to hang wet towels (a few hooks would fix that) and the bed mattress felt old. It is a shame because the pub and restaurant are lovely, the food was great and the service was good. Parking was confusing - I filled in a form to reserve a spot but it was full and I ended up parking in another car park in town.

Service was hit and miss

Our stay was very good. Clean, spacious room. Good evening meal and breakfast. Staircase would not be suitable for people with mobility issues

What a beautiful old building, staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Once again the staff and service at the Kings Head were friendly and professional. Our room (20) is a wonderful example of this old building, the only down side to the room is the fact it’s on the top floor with steep stairs leading up to it, but worth the climb.

Lovely stay overall. Good food and friendly welcome and service. Room was spacious and comfortable. Place is kept well and clean. We were on the second floor and it was a bit of a steep climb up to the room especially with a suitcase. It is an old building to be fair. It was ideally situated for the local sights.

Room and bed good. Service also good. Food OK. Fixtures and decoration in need of attention. Car park --as stated on the website - is small but usable although needs resurfacing

Could not even use the room due to stairs. Staff completely unhelpful. Do not stay here if you are elderly or disabled.

Warm welcome by the receptionist. Larger room than we were expecting. Well appointed. Comfortable. Good breakfast. Would stay there again.

Good location, comfortable rooms with lots of character. Unfortunate that my room was above the pub toilets and I was kept awake by the very noisy hand-dryer until closing time.

Great character of the building, outside and inside. The place is clean and well-kept—options to eat at the bar, restaurant or the library. Well-stocked bar.

Mostly a great venue with good food and drinks. But severely let down by the damp smelling and I'll fitted/broken bathroom

Wonderful quirky hotel with excellent staff but be aware that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Much better than a chain owned hotel.

Myself and 3 friends stayed in a room for 4, beds really comfortable only downside was a very steep staircase to top that twisted would be no good for mobility problems but added character to this old beautiful coaching house, breakfast lots of choice and superb free parking, we would definately stay again

Location good. Staff all good.
Maybe find another smoking area for staff.
Improve hot breakfast. Better quality beans, eggs, salmon would help and/or more croissant choice.
Thank you.

Stayed overnight when we had a wedding. It’s quite a quaint hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms had plenty of tea and coffee and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great with a choice of cereals or hot food. We had a good stay

From our arrival, the staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond, making our one night stay wonderful.
We had pre-booked dinner which was superb and the size of our family room was a surprise as it had a separate room for our children.
The staff really fussed over our children as well as a little dog and there were even dog biscuits on our breakfast table in the morning.

We’d book again

Charming hotel which felt welcoming and comfortable from the off. Great, friendly and helpful staff. Nice food and a good choice of ales. Room lovely and spacious. Breakfast good and made with local produce. In an excellent location close to the town centre and the Prospect park. Room was very warm even with the window open, which meant we could hear some noise from outside but overall a very nice place.
