A pleasant one night stay!
Our garden room was lovely - quality of the interior/decoration was very good, we loved the farmhouse style tiled flooring with underfloor heating. It was also very quiet & peaceful. We had dinner at the pub which was really good, highly recommend the burger & sticky toffee pudding! Staff were friendly.
We like to sleep in complete darkness, but the smoke alarm & other emergency lighting was green and lit up the room at night which we found irritating. The pillows were too soft so we woke up with neck ache. The option of aircon/a fan would have been nice as it was very warm throughout the night. Also, the pub had a strong smell of fish which was unpleasant. Breakfast food was good but could have been better, and a later time for breakfast would have been appreciated on a Sunday.

Really gorgeous
The full English breakfast was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked. The menu mentioned pastries but none in sight.
The building is beautiful and a lot of money has been spent on creating the lovely accommodation. There are a few simple things that would make it a 10/10!. Sort out the scuffs and marks on the walls. Such an easy and quick thing to sort (even when doing a room changeover), covering up nail/screw holes. It would make so much difference. More 'personality' in the rooms. They are wonderful, large spaces but a bit 'bare'. Have more to tie them to their room names , more pictures, more colour.

Short hop stay at Watershio Down
Lovely location and nice spacious room with comfy bed .
Breakfast noted as starting at 08:00 in the room booklet but when we arrived just before 08:00 we were told we were early and didn't get our cooked breakfast until around 08:45.

Excellent, restful accommodation and surroundings - slightly let down by evening meal.
The breakfast was very good. The location was beautiful and secluded. The accommodation was amazing - one of half a dozen wood-framed ensuite rooms - beautiful wood and stone, very roomy double bedroom, huge double bed, and very large ensuite with walk-in shower. Also relaxing enjoying a drink on the veranda just outside the bedroom admiring the countryside.
We found the evening meal a bit disappointing and over-priced - more like pub food than the gourmet experience we'd expected. The burger tasted like an ordinary burger despite the menu promising "rib and chuck beef burger". The cheeseboard (at £11.50) was definitely overpriced, with the soft blue cheese tasting very bland.

Very good
Nothing to really complain about. I think it's just under new management, and they are finding their feet.
Needs a major update but the largest problem was the menu we booked on the on the website feedback and the food was very disappointing.
