About this house rental
Large Spanish-style home is on a spacious, private 1-acre lot overlooking the Santa Lucia mountains and Mission Trail with an extensive sunny deck complete with garden, exercise swim pool (one of the very few pools in Carmel city limits), luxury fire table and chaise lounges, and all new smart appliances. Walk to the quaint town of Carmel and Carmel's world-famous beaches, the Carmel Mission, and Clint Eastwood's restaurant and local favorite Mission Ranch. Gourmet kitchen with all the amenities, espresso machine, fully remodeled (2022) and modernized 550 square ft sunny family room open to the kitchen and extensive deck, beachy bedrooms with brand new beds, lots of family and corporate entertainment space, this house has all you need for a Carmel Vaycay!
The four-bedroom house has three bedrooms with comfy new queen beds, each decorated with a different beachy theme. The seagull room is spacious and bright with a small desk and printer, armoire with TV, corner reading nook, French doors to the garden, and three skylights. The Carmel Beach room overlooks the oak forest and has a comfy velvet chaise next to the window for reading, and extensive closet and drawer space. These rooms share a lovely bathroom with natural stone and marble and a large corner shower. The seagrass room is off the front patio with corner windows looking onto the garden. While smaller, this bright room has a private bathroom also in natural stone with a glass-enclosed bathtub/shower and skylight The master suite is spacious and bright with windows overlooking the oak forest and canyon on two sides and a large marble master bathroom with a step-down shower big enough for two! Lots of closet and drawer space, lovely new lighting, tv, bose music system via blue-tooth, and setae along the window for reading. The king bed is extra comfy.
The house has both a large open family room off the kitchen with a breakfast nook, full bar and bar fridge, massive flat-screen TV, and step-down pit with a corner fireplace, and a formal living room with a second fireplace open to a dining room with a Spanish carved table that seats 8.
The house is perfect for a family, a group of friends, or a corporate retreat. With loads of entertainment space to be together, or quiet spaces to hide away, this is the perfect holiday property, and perfect for those that need to work away from home.
The house is on the quietest street in Carmel city limits, with houses spaciously dotted along the canyon, ample off-street parking (we have a large circular driveway), and walking distance to the town of Carmel-by-the-sea, Carmel beaches, the Mission, and world-class restaurants. Short drive to Golf course at Pebble Beach, the Big Sur coast, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Monterey wharf, to name a few popular destinations. Many people also enjoy walking amongst the oak trees on Mission trail at the base of our property. Turn right and go to Carmel Mission, and turn left to go to downtown Carmel-by-the-sea.
The town of Carmel-by-the-sea is exquisitely maintained with streets lined with oak trees and succulent gardens, and the cutest small cottage homes you've ever seen. The town is great for walking, shopping, and dining. There are dozens of art galleries and wine tasting rooms, and a wide array of shops and restaurants.
Carmel-by-the-sea is one of the most dog-friendly towns in California...the white sand beach at the base of ocean avenue - only 10 blocks from our home - is an off-leash playground for pooches to frolic in the ocean and meet and greet other fur balls and humans. Many restaurants and stores allow dogs and have water bowls to quench their thirst. The house is mostly hardwood and tile and is open to well-behaved pets (and responsible owners). Please tell us about your pet ahead of your stay so we can ensure that it is a good fit.
There are so many excursions to take from this lovely home base. In addition to Carmel beach at the base of Ocean Ave, there is also Carmel River Beach (even closer to our house) which is a park with a lagoon filled with pelicans and a lovely place for a picnic with your kids. There are lifeguards on this beach as the undertow can be dangerous during high wave activity. There is a bluff off River beach where you can walk to the third Carmel beach - Monastery Beach- with large crashing waves and a massive kelp bed famous for diving adventures. The stunning Pt Lobos park is adjacent to Monastery Beach and is a must-do if you enjoy hiking, photography, and nature. Highway 1 south of Pt Lobos takes you past the Carmel Highlands to Big Sur along one of the most photographed coastlines in the world. We love to stop at Soberanes Point for a walk along the cliffs on our way to Big Sur. There are multiple parks along the beach and river once you get to Big Sur, which is a quaint eclectic outdoor paradise. Pfeifer beach with its caves and small coves is our favorite, but teens often like hiking to the gorge for swimming in the inland Pfeifer Park. There are several dining opportunities in Big Sur...River Inn has Adirondack chairs in the middle of the river where you can enjoy a cocktail while cooling off your feet in the water. They also have a large deck and indoor space for dining and often have live music on weekends. Ventana is a higher-end resort and restaurant high in the hills on the southern end of Big Sur with a lovely outdoor deck and bar to enjoy seafood and casual favorites. Nepenthe is perhaps the most famous restaurant in Big Sur, with bluff views and a casual dining fair. The Phoenix gift shop at Nepenthe has lots of unique offerings from jewelry to clothes, books, toys, and pottery.
Other nearby attractions include wine tasting in Carmel Valley, the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Cannery Row, the Wharf in Monterey, 17-mile-drive in Pebble Beach (which is even better to enjoy by electric bike), and the ice plant-covered coastline in Pacific Grove.
For sports enthusiasts, there are several world-class golf courses in Pebble Beach, Carmel Valley, Monterey, and Pacific Grove. Water sports include scuba diving, surfing, skimboarding, kayaking, fishing, and boating. Mountain bike and electric bike rental companies abound, with extensive trails in Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Pebble Beach. There are multiple tennis/pickleball clubs and courts in the area. On foggy Carmel days, you can always escape to the valley and find pools and spas in the sun. But for our guests from escsping hotter climates, these are the best days!
Note for Concours D'Ellegance we can offer a 2-car garage for an extra charge. please contact owners of interested.
Note that the property is on almost an acre, amd there is an entirely separate apartment rented long term that is underneath a corner of the property, and with no shared spaces. The young couple in the apartment are quiet and respectful.

My husband and I stayed here with our pup for 2.5 weeks this May and had a really lovely time!
The house is conveniently located, a short drive (or 10 min walk) from downtown Carmel, and the beach, and has a lovely trail through the redwoods about a 5 min walk from the house, which was very fun to walk with my dog.
The house was spacious and comfortable, and provided plenty of room (and great hang out spaces) for visitors. We had several friends and family members visit us during our stay and there was plenty of room for everyone without it feeling cramped. The landscaping is beautiful, and we enjoyed many hours on the sunny deck. There is also ample parking for multiple vehicles, including an RV. Lastly, there was a convenient hose off area for dogs, which was very helpful when bringing my pup back from the beach.
Kristi was super responsive and always available to assist if we had any questions. The check in process was smooth and easy and she kindly allowed us a late check out, which helped tremendously, as our flight was not leaving until the afternoon. I would definitely recommend this house, especially for families or groups of friends.

We loved staying at Spanish Oasis for the summer! Any time an issue arose, Kristi and Rob helped up get it solved as quick as they could!
The conversation pit is the best spot to hang out in :)
Overall, our stay was very positive and will try to stay again!
