It’s a huge house, with lots of space, plenty of comfortable furniture, in a good location, it’s quiet & is a good value. Overall a pleasant experience, but a few areas could use some improvement:
Communicating through the VRBO app was not the great, as sometimes it took an hour for msgs to be sent or received, & weirdly it hid phone #’s– would’ve been better to get Hamid’s # upfront.
There are lots of little things either need fixing, or better stocking – icemaker was not working, there were no paper towels & only a few rolls of TP (which would be fine if we knew in advance so we could’ve stocked up), several kitchen cabinet doors were loose (one hanging from just one hinge), most soap dispensers were almost completely empty. For a house sleeping up to 8 guests, there needs to be more silverware, more dishes, & a colander would’ve been nice, as well as a few more bath & hand towels (plus some washcloths).
I’ve stayed at houses around the world, but never in one that did not have a guide book, or some sort of document covering procedures like what to do with the trash/recycling, Wi-Fi password, contact information, front door code, instructions for appliances like the coffee maker, what to do with our dirty linen, or even that we need to take our shoes off at the front door.
Lastly, for a house this size, there needs to be more than one key, or at least a code for the front door.
Hopefully these suggestions will be useful & taken in the spirit of constructive criticism.

After being treated like a villain and not a guest here are our suggestions: Make sure your management cleans the house before your guest arrive. Clean out the crusted coffee maker that had not been cleaned. Remove bedding from washer and dryer, leave right amount of bath towels, and send instructions about entering the home before your guest arrive. Make sure your guest know before they arrive for the duration of their stay to bring paper towels, detergent, cooking oil and other essentials that are usually provided; If you chose to leave any of these essentials make sure the containers are not left empty, to bring charcoal and lighter fuel if they want to grill, or not, given the bad condition of the grill, bring lounge chairs to sit outside in the unkempt backyard. Develop a guest book with clear and concise directions to Include: Instruct your guest to slam in the door of the dishwasher so that it works. Instruct you guest where to put trash when in the bathrooms since there are no trash bins. Give directions to how to work the upstairs shower which is the same as the one downstairs that had no problem working properly. Include WI-FI information. Instruct guest of any departure instructions. Lastly, treat your guest with respect when encountering unpredictable accidents. Don’t play the blame game with hostility and yelling. Accept that you and your management person were not prepared to welcome guest in your home!.

What an amazing stay we had for 5 days at this beautiful home in Alameda. When I say spacious, this place more than accommodating. 4 huge Bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Our family enjoyed our stay and I hope to visit again soon enough. I'll be looking for this property again. Thank you Hamid for always the fast turnaround on calling and texting for anything we needed. 5 stars across the board!
