Always welcomed and accommodated with care and outstanding customer service.

Nice little hidden gem. Everything is close by and accessible. The beach. Shopping. Restaurants and bowling. You can literally walk to everything if you’d like. Property was very well maintained hotel is a little older but very clean! We had an amazing time. Very reasonable pricing. Can’t wait to return!! 🙂

This hotel has great potential if the family owning it would have kept updating it, or kept it better cleaned and maintained. My room smelled lightly of urine and the room they cleaned after check-in time for my coworker had so much trash come out, it smelled lf fried food. Lamps and lights didn't work, the carpet and furniture clearly need to be cleaned. If updated and maintained, this would be a great property.

This is an old Inn with a lot of wear and tear and generally dirty. But important stuff such as bedding, towels and bathroom were clean! Breakfast included with a very basic selection.
Close to shopping area with a lot of food options.

You definitely get what you pay but the beach is a hop and skip away so that’s a plus. little outdated but we weren’t really in the room

I reserved a one bedroom suite with full kitchen for multiple nights. I had planned to use the kitchen to prepare meals. I was very disappointed to discover that the kitchen had nothing available to use for meal preparation. No plates, cutlery, mugs or glasses. No pots and pans. Nothing.

Everything great exelent

No USP connection in the room.
Door frame was broken from inside, it means someone tried to push the door from outside.
Window covering detoriated.
Nice patio, and the suite big and spacious.

The property is a place to sleep but is very dated. Carpets in hallways are dirty and should be changed to something else. Our feet turned black from walking on the room carpets barefoot. I knew I wasn’t staying at the ritz and the room price was fair for what we got. Did ask for another towel at the front desk and was told they didn’t have access to the housekeeping area and had to wait until someone with access was there an hour later. We were here to help my daughter move and it served the purpose so I wasn’t sleeping on her floor. If you’re looking for a inexpensive place to stay close to the beach and shopping then this will do. You get what you pay for. The bowling alley next door is super fun.

First off, the only reason this place even got 2 stars was the fact that the pool was great. Otherwise, this place is a dump. I could list off the problems (sometimes downright gross) but just do yourself a favor and shop around a bit more.

Reception people are all rude, condescending and lack customer service skills. On our check in day, the person had a bad attitude, didn’t greet, etc. my wife has mobility difficulties and while I understand the hotel rules. When I asked this person if he had a room in the lower level, his response was abrupt and said no we are completely sold out. This is a complete lie as there were very little guests that we observe during our three night stay. We were given a room in the second floor west side right in front of the back of a bar bowling g alley. There were large congregation of people until 2am Sunday morning. They were loud, appeared to be intoxicate and were smoking the smell of whatever they were smoking was hedious and carry over. They were playing loud boom car stereo music. The room smell bad was dirty and musty. Light bulbs were put, the patio door curtain was filthy, it had holes in it. Allegedly there is no smoking however for the three nights we were there there was a heavy smell of smoke which another guest describe as marijuana use. The bath tub was filthy and we use our sandals when taking a shower. Please note: the cleanliness issues are not due to the cleaning staff as it is the lack of maintenance. There is so much more, I do not know how hotels like this one are allowed to operate under these deplorable and unhealthy conditions. We were there for a funeral and didn’t have the time to waste looking for other lodging. We’ll never stay here aga

We always stay here when we come to Alameda !

You get what you pay for. It’s not the Ritz , Hilton or Grand. It’s an Old hotel with a lot of use under its belt. The staff was nice. Great location near everything. The continental breakfast was lacking. I would stay again for a budget friendly vacay.

The only thing I had a problem with, was thst my door to my room was extremely loud when you opened and closed it!

This place is not fancy by any means, but it is very clean and well cared for. It is showing its age, but the price is so good for all the amenities. Having a real kitchen to cook in makes staying in the bay so much more affordable. And being close to alameda beach it such a nice thing. The entire staff is professional and responsive.

The location is the only reason to stay here.

My friend in Alameda told me not to stay at the Coral Reef Inn. A woman walking her dog near the inn told me it was a mistake to stay there! But...the room was large, clean, and comfortable. The common areas look run down and cosmetically it won't win any beauty contest. But there were a lot of tradesmen staying there, and a few people that looked marginal. Mostly it was quiet but there was a drunken argument in the middle of the night. So I would say you get what you pay for. I wouldn't stay here if I had my wife with me, but this was a solo trip so I don't regret staying at the Coral Reef Inn.

Great location! Walking distance to the Alameda Beach! Kitchen with oven , stove decent lil fridge, freezes quickly. Pool is very clean. It's comfortably pretty cool, refreshing!! Outdoor shopping mall across street.

This hotel is very dated. The room was not very clean. We went to the store and bought disinfectant wipes and spray to use before we felt comfortable enough to stay. The couch is so old and dirty looking we didn’t want to sit on it. The wood on the balcony is in bad shape, almost unsafe. Although the room had a full kitchen, you have to go to the lobby to get anything to use in it. Not even a spoon is kept in the room.
The pros: The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The pool was clean but not heated.
Although we will be returning to Alameda, we won’t stay here again.

Poor communication by staff, mumbling, not volunteering information. Lights out, broken electrical outlets, terrible TV reception. Reception desk poorly staff and staff that was there had total inability to solve problems.

The property is right by the beach this was wonderful. It was strange to me none of the kitchen supplies were in the room. There was a common kitchen where you had to collect the pots ,pans, silverware , cups and plates from. They were all there but it was a first come first serve basis. This was very strange. We also saw two roaches in our room. The area was safe and nice. the staff was very nice.

I booked the Coral Reef Inn through Expedia. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever booked. Third world countries have more cleanliness standards. I’m surprised a property in Alameda could disappoint like this. Hotel has a dirty lobby, including the reception counter area. I researched my options and informed the front desk we were canceling our reservation without checking in to a room. The next day I see a room cancellation penalty. I hope they apply the money I was charged to properly clean. Or better yet, return my fee and pay attention to the upkeep of your property.

It’s a clean motel in a great location. Perfect for what I needed.

This place is way over due for a deep cleaning and some major renovations. Not very clean and very run down. I will not stay there again.
On the plus side, the pool was surprisingly nice and the place is conveniently close to the beach and a major shopping centre.

Very good price for a place in Alameda. The facility is old, but the room was spacious 2 queen beds, 3 closets, stove, microwave, refrigerator, and a small table for four. Free breakfast, Free parking. I would stay again.

Simple and quiet. Staff was very accommodating.
2.5
I like staying here. It is not modern or fancy, more simple and funky 80s sheik. Its age is showing, but it makes up for that in clean and peacefulness. It is peaceful and close to the beach. The parking feels safe. It is always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They could do with more kitchenware (pots, silverware, plates and bowls) in the main kitchen to collect and bring to the room. That is a bit hit or miss. But otherwise, everything is just feels good to me. If you are looking for fancy, this ain’t it. But it is comfortable and peaceful and the grounds are well kept.

Extremely outdated and poorly kept property The only thing it has going for itself is location location location it is right across from the beach in Alameda and the shoreline shopping plaza. Would not stay here again though because of how poorly kept the property was.
