Just seconds from Hudson's Market and the water, this is ocean living at it's finest! Inside the home, you'll find 4 bedrooms and 2 ensuite bathrooms. With fresh linens, spacious bedrooms, and multiple walk in showers. There is plenty of space to go around. Ease into your morning with a cup of coffee or tea on the front porch before heading out for the day. Take a walk down the beach as the waves lap your toes or a quick car ride to historic downtown Charleston. Whether you make it a night on the town or sunset by the beach, The Commodore exudes character and Southern charm.

We saw this property had several poor reviews, after we booked but before we arrived. VRBO told us nothing could be done until we checked in. The property manager, Portero, assured us that the issues had been addressed and even shared that there were brand new beds. This was absolutely not true. There are many inaccuracies on the description of the property and many wear issues, some which are some what unsafe. The lights on the full flight of stairs up to the entrance only sometimes work making it a dark passage in the evening. The handrail on the same stairs is unstable and does not go to the last step, making that a tricky one at night as it is unevenly spaced as well. Several lights in the home do not work. The electric garage doors are not functioning. All of the tv area seating is extremely low, dated and uncomfortable. The main dining table chairs are uncomfortable. The beds are old and extremely soft, clear outlines of depressions. The dishwasher works, but the buttons are worn out, so you have to guess how to get it started. The ice maker is not working. There were several electrical outlets that did not work. We had ants in one of the bathrooms. Shortly after arrival, a sign was placed on the property stating that it will be up for auction due to the homeowner not paying property taxes! That pretty much says it all!
It is to be expected that there will be some unexpected issues however this was beyond that. Our biggest concern is many of these issues were known.

Cute location, needs quite a few updates. None of the outlets in the bathrooms worked and in one bathroom the fan didn’t work also. The mattresses were obviously old and lumpy. There were ants in the kitchen and in the living room (and they bite!).Lastly, there was also no filtered water in the kitchen. I understand they are selling this property but if you’re going to list it til then I highly recommend you spend some time in the house!

You can’t beat the location to the beach. Just a block away and you are on the sand.
However, we had many issue with the house. Outlets in the downstairs bathroom didn’t work, lightbulbs in the bathrooms didn’t work. Tv was missing in one bedroom and didn’t work in the other downstairs one. Ice machine didn’t work. Ants in the master upstairs as well as other bugs .
Love love the location and it worked bc we were gone from the house a lot but we would not stay here again.

Loved this house and the location! A great house for gathering!!! Thanks for leaving us beach stuff!
However, you need to make beds and furniture more amenable to sitting. The king matress really needs to be replaced. Our family enjoys lounging around the kitchen table for games and those chairs were pretty rough for sitting. Luckily we had the pillows. The stairs might need yo have lights fixed for an older adult entering the house. But again, let me repeat, great house and location to beach!
