The location was beautiful and peaceful. However, there were a few items that I would have appreciated in the listing such as no central A/c and water has a smell to it. An uncontrollable situation for the renter: the neighbor was doing repairs with power tools all day, and the home was serene and peaceful for a getaway.

We had a nice time. Water was great. We swam and fished, and used the kayak. Fire pit was perfect. House was clean and roomy for us. Some comments about the house are accurate; it really depends on what you are used to. All in all a great find. Pond was much quieter than expected, so that was nice. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful place. Loons, eagles, Ospreys, and good fishing. No A/C made a couple of days miserable when heat and humidity was in the mid-nineties. Many fans available, though. Would be more ethical to let people know before booking that tap water is not drinkable. Saying a kayak is available is a bit of a stretch (small plastic boat).

Check in and clean beds and towels are the positives. The negatives are as follows:
Disassembled smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector falling off the wall. Filthy window sills and door slider gams with dead bugs from years ago. Artwork on wall falling apart. Description of shore incomplete. Should have mentioned how rocky it was. Difficult to get our kayaks in/out. Was told via a message that there was firewood for the fire pit....not so. I've requested a partial refund. Having difficulty with follow through from Vacasa about "the local team" reaching out to me as promised.

The property has a wonderful location. The house was clean and comfortable. The 10-digit combination lock was a challenge. You have to enter the digits quickly, and since there is 10 of them, it is difficult. We had to leave the backdoor partly open because we were not confident that we could get back into the house. Also, the dock behind the house was partially dismantled impeding access. There was a kayak, but it had no oar. Luckily, my kids were able to obtain an oar from friends.

The house was in a very quiet, beautiful area, but the house needs some TLC.

This house was perfect for our family getaway! It was very clean, we had plenty of room and being right on the pond was fantastic! Hearing the Loons banter back and forth was so relaxing and the view was beautiful. You can’t beat the tranquility of a fire pit at night right on the edge of the water. There was a Dunkin Donuts 10 minutes away and a 15-20 minute drive to restaurants, Walmart and other stores was a bonus. Sure there are a few things in the house that could use updating, but we’re not picky people... It worked great for us! It was reasonably priced and we would definitely go back! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.

I love the view out the window and the fact that my family was present with me otherwise the condition of the home needs a lot a lot of work.

Myself and 4 friends booked this home on the water for an annual super bowl ice fishing trip. The house was just as described, spacious and comfortable. The pond is beautiful and the fishing was outstanding, we caught fish all day long. Location is good as well, with plenty of restaurants and downtown Augusta within 10 to 15 minutes. Great home for the price.

We had some staff for a clinic come to Maine and they loved the property! Very clean and beautiful. Would definitely be using them again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lakefront cottage. A perfect Maine experience. Centrally located for day trips to Bar Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, Freeport and so much more. Or you may just want to stay home and sit by the fire with a glass of wine and listen for the loons. Quintessential Maine.

Overall the stay was nice. It was convenient for our activities. We noticed the bathroom shower and living room floor was dusty. There was no paddle for the kayak. The fire pit was nice, but more cushions are needed for the chairs and some type of lighting (string lights) for the stairs on the deck. The microwave was unplugged. When we plugged it in, it came on and wouldn't go off. Garbage cans are needed in both bathrooms. Upon arrival, garbage bags were sticking out of the can outside. It turns out garbage is picked up on Friday. We heard other homeowners taking out their cans and pulled it to the street. More directions need to be provided for things like that. The tv downstairs was configured but the bedroom tv's need to be configured with a house account and only require guests to sign into apps. Our friends complained that the 2nd queen bed gave them swayback. The smoke detector went off in the master bedroom at 5am. NO SMOKE, just bad battery. It kept chirping. The kitchen went off in the am from cooking bacon and wouldn't reset. Both need new batteries. Kitchen items should include a colander, cutting board, rubber turner for non-stick pan. One of the stainless pans was burnt. The screws on the chairs in the kitchen need to be tightened. Lastly, my husband looked in the basement for the kayak paddle and the floor was very wet and the area had a damp/mildew smell. The door had a draft pillow blocker so it did not come upstairs.
