The location was amazing the views from the hotels wow! Not far from Halifax and Hebden Bridge, train station not far as well easy get on get off to both locations. If you love your walking, ideal location.
The rooms were amazing and the balcony view topped it off. We highly recommend coming here to anyone, we wish we stayed longer.

Perfect and beautiful location. The room was lovely and had everything that I needed, the teas, coffee, porridge and water etc were a really nice touch and very welcome. The staff member, Karen was very helpful and friendly in her communication with me leading up to my arrival. Ample free parking and nice seating area, wonderful views of the countryside.
The lock / door entry system was very difficult. I was sent the access code to open the keysafe but could not open it. I tried for around 20 minutes to get into the key safe to access my key and despite using the corret code I could not open the safe. I ended up having to call on help from another guest to help me open it. The exact same thing happened when I came to leave on check out, I simply could not open the keysafe box in order to put my key in there and once again, I had to bother another guest in order for them to help and open it for me. Please consider changing this entry system as if I struggled then I would assume that many other guests will have struggled in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Also it is not practical to be trying to operate this sort of access when it is dark. Dark or light, I simply could not open the safe. My room was number 33. This is the only reason I have not scored 10 on this review. Had I had no issues gaining entry to the keysafe then I would have rated the accommodation a 10 as I loved everything else about the accommodation and grounds.

The view from balcony beautiful and bathroom was a surprising size.
Shame next-door Hobbit Hotel not operational for meals and drinks.

Very comfortable room (3 adults) Clean, with lots of space, lovely breakfast provided (Instant porridge, croissants, pain au chocolate, coffee and tea). Plenty of parking, nice terrace seating area. Easy to access the room, it is self check-in, the hotel sends text with details and code to access the room key safe. It's about 15 minutes drive to Halifax town centre, so you get to see nice country side.
Would definitely return to The New Hobbit.

Very peaceful. Clean and comfortable room well equipped plus small fridge. Had Twin room. Took Charcuterie and wine as owner had communicated well that the bar/ restaurant is not currently open. Decking area outside. Good value for money. Will return
Would have appreciated clearer signage that had reached the property and car park as drove straight passed up the hill and didn't notice until turned round

A bit small

Location was perfect for us to travel to a wedding
Rooms were lovely!
It was all great!

The views from the balcony are lovely and having the balcony makes it feel more like a proper holiday! The bed was so comfy and the bathroom was very clean and of a good size. Lots of nice walks around the area and although the hotel is not within walking distance ( unless you want to climb back up the hills) it’s not to bad as it’s very quiet at night.
The location is quite a challenge for some cars it’s very hilly. Sowerby bridge has less to offer than Hebden bridge about 10-15mins away, we couldn’t find anywhere to sit in and eat other than one Indian restaurant and a Wetherspoons everywhere else was a takeaway.

Lovely room balcony A plus ➕️ 😍 everything you needed was in the room. bathroom. Fabulous shower, awesome 👌 light breakfast, was a nice touch . Overall lovely stay would recommend and I would like to stay again . 🤗
I didn't not like , just a few issues i found net curtains had mould on them, tv mirror and top of the bed dusty . Hair in draw and the fan in the bathroom is dusty there where marks on the wall and pillow s not my type .

I liked that the check-in was completely hassle free. Just simply had to follow the instructions texted to myself which told me the code for the key box outside our room and that was it!
The room was spacious, the shower was lovely and I liked the little touches for breakfast which included x2 porridge pots, x2 croissants and a mixture of teas, coffee etc.
The only thing I would have liked would have been a hairdryer in the room. But I knew there wasn’t one before booking so I brought my own, but it’s just nice to not have to carry that round in a heavy bag.
Other than that, it was great!

Great room with a fantastic view over the valley. They room was perfect.
The only downside was the drive up to the hotel but it was an experience and the pub wasn't open.

Was visiting Hebden Bridge for a concert and all accommodation in town was fully booked. New Hobbit Hotel rooms was an ideal alternative, just a short taxi ride away. Will definitely consider again.

Nice quiet, scenic location. Lovely clean rooms. Helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Lovely finish and touches!
Nothing.

Lovely location. Fantastic views if you have a room with a balcony.
There wasn’t anything in particular that I didn’t like. It’s on a very steep hill with windy roads leading which might be something some people may want to consider.
4.5
The room had what you needed
No staff to talk to, hairs in the shower, alarm went off at 3 am no instructions as to what to do no staff on hand to say if it was real or not,

The self check-in went easy, lovely standard of room and facilities. All very straight-forward and good value for money.
Everything was good.

Everything was great. The room was very clean and comfortable and we had a balcony with a terrific view overlooking Halifax. The communication was excellent and the instructions for the key safe were spot on. Excellent parking.
The steepness of the location. We arrived at night and were not entirely sure where we were going so the steepness of the road was a little concerning for our car.

Loved the location of this little gem. Beautiful view from my room (Room 33) Had two rooms as my son stayed too. His room was perfect too. (Room 20) room size and bathrooms really big lovely big showers. VERY CLEAN!!
Can't recommend this enough. Its so perfect and will defo returning!!
Only one thing was the key box. Really hard to flick the little black button to open it. (Especially without nails!) I'm sorry to have to put this, as everything else was just perfect.

Location was great and room was very good value for money. The Self check in was seemless.
4.5
The room was big, clean, warm and perfect for our weekend
It's on a steep hill, but that's not the hotels fault. It's walkable but your legs will feel it in the morning 😁
4.5
The room was very neat and clean.
Would have been nice to have a bath in the room.
4.5
Property was clean and warm with nice bathroom
The room was small and tired could do with a decorate, stair way could do with a good clean but room was clean. Outside lighting was very poor the security light only stayed on for a minute and with quite a few steps and no hand rail we had to use torches on our phones to see.
Drive there is extremely hilly and roads are very narrow if it had been icy we would not have made it there. Paid extra for a balcony which we didn’t use might have done if it was nice weather but it was shared with next door so not private. No staff or facilities.
4.5
The room was cosy and warm and very clean. It felt very private compared with other venues. And it was very quiet.
Mattress was a little uncomfortable.

It was gorgeous, and warm. It was exactly what we wanted and was perfect for what we wanted to do. The self check in check out was amazing, not having to talk to anyone was a nice break which is we wanted to stay further away from home.
It was a bit freaky and made us a bit nervous as there were loud bangs and scrapes that sounded like furniture moving from the rooms next door even though we heard no one check in or any cars park up so that was strange. But being alone was nice before the noises started getting louder
4.5
Property was easy to get to and access, it had everything we needed and was very clean

Large room that had a desk and a comfy chair to work at. WiFi signal was strong and easy to connect.
Comfy bed and duvet with controllable radiator.
Room 20 was on the ground floor with access right up to the door for anyone with specific access requirements, a large bathroom & walk in shower. Support rails and wall mounted seat. I'd stay again if in.the area.
Secure key lock spring is very strong and struggled to open it. This'll probably change after time, as it was new.
