We had an amazing stay. The property was exactly as described and perfect for my husband and I and our dog. We loved the walkability to downtown and will definitely be back. The hosts were extremely responsive and had great suggestions for things to do.

We stayed at the Butterfly Hideaway in late August as a way to test out the potential of being digital nomads in Wilmington, NC. The carriage house was perfect! Every detail was better than advertised. All that was needed for our 10-day stay, even down to the coffee pods for the Keurig and the Coffee mate creamer were available to us. The hosts, Wayne and Bobby were absolutely wonderful and welcoming. They were quick to respond to any questions, and super helpful in local details. We enjoyed many recommendations including Terra Sol Yoga (5 min walk) and Castle Street Kitchen for dinner (5 min walk). Overall, great VRBO and would highly recommend for anyone interested in a great in Wilmington!

We were very happy with our accommodations. Everything was exceptionally clean, tidy and updated. We LOVED the neighborhood and where it was located. It was very quiet and relaxing, but close to all that downtown offers. Thank you very much for having us and we hope to come back.

This was a wonderful place to stay! So clean and the hosts had so many thoughtful touches… we felt so welcome and comfortable. Bed was super comfortable and everything was spotless. And so convenient to the riverfront!

We were visiting to attend 2 concerts in Wilmington and really enjoyed our stay! The place was modern, well decorated and had all the essentials we needed. I loved having lots of coffee pods to try and the candy was a nice treat! Thanks for having beach chairs available; we used them for a day trip to Wrightsville beach. We would definitely stay here again!

It was our first time visiting Wilmington so we weren’t familiar with where to stay, I can tell you we will be back and booking this home again. Spotless, well appointed with everything you need. Within walking distance to food and activities and the hosts are amazing. It was just what we needed from a weekend away!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Butterfly Retreat. It was comfortable, immaculate, andlocated in a very convenient and walkable location to downtown Wilmington activities. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and in the room had a binder filled with suggestions for local recommended restaurants and things to do while visiting. It was more like someone’s personal home rather than a temporary accommodation. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful property with great hosts. It is comfortable and well appointed. The location is convenient to local attractions. Close enough to walk to the historic downtown or waterfront but far enough away to keep parking simple. The carriage house is clean, modern and quiet. It was perfect for us and our pup. The bed is so comfortable we asked the hosts for brand/model. We definitely recommend and would stay here again if we visit Wilmington.

Absolutely loved our stay at this charming one-bedroom in historic Wilmington! The location is simply unbeatable—just four blocks from the beautiful riverfront, making it easy to enjoy lovely walks and fantastic dining options. Nestled in a wonderful neighborhood, the area felt safe and welcoming throughout our stay. The hosts were exceptionally wonderful, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality truly made our experience memorable. The unit itself was immaculate, well-stocked with all the essentials, and perfectly cozy. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home during our visit. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to explore Wilmington. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

This is my new go to stay when in Wilmington. I travel here for work and this is such a great place to stay over the local hotels. Clean and all the amenities of home. Quiet and private. Plus you can walk to a lot of the downtown scene. After the first night, I booked it again for my next visit. Highly recommend!

My husband and I don't get away much with two toddlers at home but we came to Wilmington last weekend for a wedding. Never having been there before, we did not know too much about the town. Bobby and Wayne were phenomenal hosts. Their welcome package had ALL of the information you could ever need about the area. We kept going back to it like a good book! The place itself was immaculate. My husband kept saying "They have thought of everything for this place!" And they truly have. Perfect location. Perfect scenery. Perfectly quiet, much different than our life at home haha! We loved it so much and absolutely will be back! Oh my goodness, I also must add that when I was securing this reservation - I did not realize that I was logged into an old VRBO account with an email I can no longer access. I called VRBO and reached out to Wayne, he was on the phone with them for I don't even know how long but got them to switch my reservation over to this new email without having to cancel, wait for a refund and then secure it under the right account. Truly an angel. Thank you so much for having us Bobby and Wayne! You have created something beautiful and we are so lucky you shared it with us. Stay here, you won't regret it!

The place is really cute and was very well appointed and clean. It is in a safe historic area and easy walk to a coffee house and breakfast places. Wayne welcomed us warmly and was available if we needed any help or info. Otherwise it was a very private separate carriage house from the main house. Our only suggestion is a small step to help get into the bed which is high for short people : )

My husband and I spent two weeks in Wilmington and this adorable property was perfect to explore all the charms of Wilmington. The apartment is beautifully decorated and everything is fresh and clean. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with anything you would need to cook at home. Everything is nice quality and we appreciated the extras such as fully stocked coffee supplies and tea as well as doggie supplies. The bed has a wonderfully comfortable mattress, and the bathroom was stocked with soaps, shampoos, and lots of little extras as well. Wayne and Bobby are amazing hosts and provide information on all the restaurants and interesting things to do and see in Wilmington. We were able to walk to so many things and it was just a quick car ride to the beach, shopping, or Greenfield Park. Our pup, Millie,was right at home as well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends. The property nextdoor also has a VRBO above the garage (The Yak Shack).We rented both for a few days for overflow family and it was perfect to have them so close.

Located on a quiet street in the historic district, the Carriage house is a short walk to the boardwalk and restaurants. The house was very clean and perfect for a couples get-a-way. Beaches, Fort Fisher and other attractions are a short drive. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved everything about the Butterfly Hideaway. We stayed two nights and couldn't think of anything we would change. The space was perfect for us two girls and my pup. There was always street parking available. The amenities in the space were more than adequate and we felt cozy, comfortable and cared for throughout our stay. We walked the dog to downtown and the riverwalk, checking out the shops and exploring Wilmington. When we went out, it was a very short and convenient Uber ride. The hosts, Wayne and Bobbie and Chase (dog) are delightful. Gonna plant a monarch butterfly garden with the "gift" of seeds to honor our beautiful time in Wilmington. We stayed in the property for two nights with our dog and absolutely loved it. It was a short walk into downtown and the neighborhood was great for taking our dog on walks. It was a manageable distance from Wrightsville Beach where I took our dog out in the mornings to get her some exercise. Wayne was very communicative on logistics and even offered us a later checkout unprompted. All in, we can't wait to stay here the next time we come to Wilmington

My husband and I stayed at the Butterfly Hideaway for a long autumn weekend. The house was perfect for the two of us and our two dogs. Everything was spotlessly clean (maybe the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in) and very comfortable. The house had everything we needed — cooking accoutrement, blankets, extra pillows, a laundry hamper, a water filter, and a coloring book too! :) The neighborhood is quiet and safe and walkable to everything downtown — and it’s a beautiful walk too. Wilmington houses in the fall are a delight. It’s easy to park on the street, and never an issue finding a nearby spot. Bobby and Wayne are so friendly and kind. We enjoyed chatting with them and meeting their dog Chase. They are stellar hosts. We highly recommend and hope to return ourselves!
