About this house rental
NEW to rentals in 2024! Bufflehead Camp is located in a peaceful meadow. This recently built home provides an elevated stay in luxury and comfort. Within easy reach to main village centers and park trails, providing a private retreat with lovely outdoor spaces and modern conveniences. Somes Pond Swimming and Blagden Preserve, two of Mt. Desert Island's best kept secrets, are just a short distance away!
FIRST FLOOR: Enter through the Breezeway from the driveway to a large Kitchen featuring double oven, cherry cabinetry, granite countertops, cork floor, and large circular table that seats eight comfortably. From the Kitchen, a cozy family room with TV leads to an expansive Living Room with showcase fireplace, plenty of comfortable seating, and TV. This space is combined with the formal Dining Room with table that seats 10-12 and includes a door leading to back to the Kitchen. Of note in this space is a lovely Craftsman Style stained glass clerestory decorative window dividing this space from the Family Room. Beyond the Living Room is a large Primary Bedroom with King bed, fireplace, and TV. Across the hall is a large Full Bath with separate whirlpool tub, tiled shower, double vanity, bidet, and commode. At the end of the hall is a club style reading room. Also on the first floor are laundry facilities and a half bath.
SECOND FLOOR: Carpeted stairs lead to the second floor, accented by a large sitting area with TV that divides this level in two. To the north are three bedrooms: two with Queen Bed each, and one small bedroom with two Bunkbeds. Note that this 3rd bedroom does not have a separate egress, so there is no door to close it off. These three bedrooms share a large Full Bath with tiled walk in shower. At the south end of the house, there are two magnificent bedrooms, each with a King Bed. At the end of a hall, a roomy Full Bath includes a soaking tub and walk-in shower. All bedrooms feature a TV and ceiling fans.
BASEMENT: Carpeted stairs lead to a finished basement entertainment room with enormous TV and a fourth Full Bath with tiled shower.
OUTDOOR SPACES: Doors from the Kitchen and Family Room lead to the deck and terraces outside overlooking the back meadow and woods. Don't be surprised to see deer, turkeys, and other wildlife wandering through these quiet grounds!
Rates are based on an occupancy of 10 people. Additional fees apply up to a maximum occupancy of 12.

This was an absolutely beautiful and extremely spacious cottage that is located within minutes of all the sights we wished to visit. We have never seen another VRBO rental that was so well equipped with everything you could wish for--and more! There were ten of us, including four children, and we all had plenty of space within the cottage. Both of our sons appreciated the office space for some remote work they needed to do. The property is secluded and private and also includes ample room for parking. Communication with the host was excellent and extremely helpful whenever we had a question. We all agreed that we would eagerly stay at this cottage during future visits to Mt. Desert Island.
