I recently had the pleasure of staying at Rutland Hall Hotel, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome from the staff, who made every effort to ensure a comfortable stay. The setting is absolutely stunning, with the hotel overlooking Rutland Water, offering beautiful views and plenty of serene, natural surroundings.
The rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully decorated, combining modern touches with classic comfort. One of the highlights was the hotel’s dining experience. The on-site restaurant offered a range of fresh, locally sourced options, and the meals were outstanding. Every dish was prepared with care, and the service was attentive yet unobtrusive. Breakfast was also a treat, with a variety of choices to suit all tastes.
Overall, Rutland Hall Hotel is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty!

A lakeside hotel with views. Excellent breakfast and service. I was given a rear facing room in the Oakham annex.it saw small with little or no sound proofing (could hear the TV in the room across the hall )and a view of the wall at the opposite. It was clean and well appointed but I suspect warm in summer as no AC although a small fan is provided. Dinner in the restaurant was a bit of a walk up a couple of flights of stairs,no fun when raining. The food was ok but a challenge to find something within my meagre budget. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and adequate for our needs. The restaurant was extremely overpriced. The most disappointing aspect was the friendliness of the staff - we felt they were a bit aloof and not particularly warm towards their guests.

Great Stay at this superb location. Shame The Spa wan closed for refurbishment. Had dinner in the restaurant. Fab food and 5* service from Amy Brown who had a wide knowledge of fine wines from around the world.
Room was very big ( we did get an upgrade), looking out the lake. Very clean, ample tea, coffee & biscuits supplies in room. Bed supersize and super comfy.
Will definitely return and will highly recommend. Pool will be back open in Dec 2024.

Wonderful Hotel super views great room and sumptuous dinner.
Breakfast was a little disappointing after a great dinner only one chef running a full buffet style breakfast with overdone bacon and sausages dried out under the hot service lights I had to ask for fresh everything as there wasn’t eggs mushrooms tomatoes or fried bread

Difficult to review as patchy we found. jnr suite was spacious but a lot of space wasted as sort of hall. Loved big bed looking at lake & balcony. Restaurant is awful - big, more like a cafe & noisy music, but staff at dinner lovely & food v good. V hilly, not disabled friendly tho there is a buggy. Breakfast buffet typical - sad food dying under lights.
Gym only opens 745 weekends, have to go to reception to get code which changes daily. Why not give code on check in & change daily after guests check out then could make it 24hr.
Hall gives impression its olde world but in fact v modern

The area and lake views were very picturesque as well as nearby towns such as Stamford.Plenty of restaurants to choose from .

The hotel has a beautiful setting by Rutland Water .However our room and particularly the bed was very small .The restaurant was overpriced and with a very poor ambiance so we decided to eat in a very good Italian
restaurant in Oakham. The policy of putting down 50pound deposit was insulting so we certainly will not stay again

Did not like the multi level layout, exhausting
small portions on starters and some deserts were terrible, so expensive for what you got

Different style of hotel with separate buildings with large grounds to explore. Some signage was confusing regarding lifts.

This hotel was stunning however the room i was in (517) was the nosiest room I’ve ever stayed in, the door goes constantly and the light turns on every five minutes. It kept me awake for two days straight.

Room was comfortable but small for the price. Bathroom was well equipped. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Restaurant is expensive with limited menu options especially for vegetarians. Breakfast quality and options were average.
The spa was non-operational and this was not listed at the time of booking.
The hotel grounds were beautiful and the surrounding area outside the hotel grounds was good for walking.

The stay overall was really relaxing and as a first timer was reasonably priced for B & B. However, the evening meal at Blossoms I though was over priced for what you had on the place. Surely just a spoonful of veg ( peas) or a little extra tomato doesn't add too much to the main course. There was a lot of sauce/ cream on my dish. Nothing to soak it up with :- I had the Cod . I love veg but begrudge paying extra £6.00 for Sweet Potatoes, ect. £26 was more than enough to pay. We will stay again but NOT eat at Blossoms .

Great location (if you stay in the main building). Nice facilities but very busy during the school holidays.
The main draw of The Rutland is the amazing staff who could not be more helpful.

We had a lovely stay at Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a nice room in the main hall, we had a nice swim in the pool although this will be closed for renovation from September.
All the food in the restaurant breakfast and dinner was of a good quality and all staff were exceptional.

In our room the double bed was very small and the room was cluttered with unnecessary furniture making it feel hot and slightly claustrophobic. The fittings were new and the room was clean. Ok for a one night stop otherwise go for more expensive options. Breakfast average.

I loved the views and the setting, unfortunately on the day we arrived there was a huge wedding party going on. This meant no space to park in the reception car park. The alternative car park being a 10 minute walk away. It also meant that music was being played until midnight on a Sunday night. Not very good soundproofing from discos in the room!!
The safe in the room did not work, reported but not rectified. The towel rail in the bathroom was hanging off, reported but not rectified. The room was big and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Not a four star hotel experience, would have been quieter staying in the local pub which kicks out at 10:30!

Wonderful
Just the room was very warm and the fan was not really adequate as you could not open the windows. Very small thing but would really improve the stay.

Very crowded reception area for checking in - two wedding parties arrived at the same time.
Our room overlooked the car park and we were kept awake until gone 2.00am by drunken guests arguing and shouting outside. Room only has single glazed windows so even if there are planning restriction secondary double glazing could be added. This would help a lot, especially as the fan light window didn't close properly.
