Staff were so helpful. Hotel is immaculate and in extremely pretty location. Cannot fault it in any way. Rooms excellent and the staff would help with anything. Will definitely return.

Very nice to look at. Clean & comfortable, feel we should have been made aware of it being in administration. So we could have made decision whether to stay or not only 4 staff in total 1 waiter 1 cleaner 2 front of house. No bar is available anymore. Menu was very short.prices for food expensive considering how poor the quality was, hummus served with homemade bread ( bread was cheap sliced ) chicken supreme was overcooked served on tin sweetcorn and broccoli. Madeira sauce was cream & Madeira wine which was awful, homemade chips were cheap frozen chips. Burger & chips, brioche bun defrosted to order or stale take your pick. Frozen chips brown lettuce. Not edible & olives not fresh bill was £74.00 give or take, first time I’ve gone to bed hungry after 5.5hr drive.breakfast was available but for another £30 for 2 no thanks not after worst dinner you can imagine. On average we go away 15/20 times a year. This was worst food experience. Did tell receptionist but not interested as in administration no discount offered. Such a shame. Pictures on hotels.com show beautiful food but most facilities including good food not available

Disappointing stay! We asked to move room after checking in but only downgrades and unsuitable rooms (separate rooms) were available.
Booked a Stable suite hoping that this would be ground level as we travelled with our baby. It was not suitable for a pram/ baby with lots of stairs up to the room. More information could be added to the website to help with room choice.
We had a strong smell of damp in the suite’s bathroom which gradually was noticeable in the main area. Concerning as we travelled with our baby.
Suite is average - felt tired and sparse. Near to no natural light so felt gloomy and was not big enough for three adults. Blind broken, table with chips & kitchen set up is basic and not properly considered (cups & items but nothing to dry these).
Dinner was expensive and not worth the price paid.
Air fresher is pumped throughout the hotel, beautiful but was completely overpowering.
Breakfast upgrade was extortionate and again average quality.
Staff were really helpful, building was really beautiful & immaculately clean. Location was great.
I feel the hotel misses the mark for luxury & would say more like 3* with a lot of potential if better attention was paid to issues. It feels like it is sold as a formal, upmarket hotel with great dining but furniture/ everything inside is not of that standard.
I contacted the hotel privately with feedback but no response after nearly two weeks.

Just make sure when you check in you have enough money for deposit.
I have had 4 nights, I needed £400 deposit. Just bare in mind - £100 deposit per night.
Internet went off on our last day that was due to bad weather.
TV didn't work.
Otherwise, everything's excellent. Nice people. Locals were amazing. Refreshing.

Beautiful property, but total lack of character.
The library has no books, games or a bar to speak of. It is a grey room with grey couches and terrible elevator music. As soon as you walk in, the only thing on your mind is “how can I excuse myself out of this room?”
The restaurant serves decent meals, but they are overpriced and the dining room is perhaps the most boring room I have ever sat in.
It’s really too bad because the property is located in an area of Scotland rich with history and folklore, yet all common areas of the hotel are hollow and void of life.
Every piece of art on the wall looks like it was generated by first generation AI told to spit out variations of “monochrome overlapping geometric shapes” and “black blotches on white background”.
Perhaps these are all petty criticisms, but the hotel is a disturbingly boring place to stay.
If all you’re after is a clean room and nice smelling soap, this is your place!
If you’re after a nice place to spend a weekend, look elsewhere!

Lovely hotel but not a 5 star, food was well below par and had to send a meal back, waited forever to get another, just as bad. Witnessed a number of dishes going back, service slow and bar not very well stocked. The room had a dodgy shower and we had to turn off the fridge as it was too noisy. Wanted a credit card deposit on arrival for food and took a photo of ID "strange" staff nice enough but need a lot of training.

A fantastic gidden gem of a hotel, everything about the Dunalistair is fantastic.
The hotel was completely refurbished 7-8yrs ago yet looks like it was done last month.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We are already planning a second visit!

This property is a gem! We would not think one would find such a place in the midst of fields, meadows and lochs. It is very quiet and peaceful so if the quest is to find shops and adventure, this is not your place. The staff was excellent and went the extra mile to ensure that we were comfortable.

We stayed here for one night and had a second floor loft suite. The room was clean and modern and nicely decorated. We especially loved the fresh shortbread cookies and the fresh milk and the fridge for our coffee in the morning. The bathroom was clean and also modern. The building itself is beautiful and the location was nice and close to a local walking trail that we took that went from the dam all the way up to the Falls. The breakfast staff were extremely attentive and we had the hot breakfast which was delicious.

We have stayed at the Dunalastair a couple of times and really enjoyed each visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms very well appointed and clean. The lounge areas are great and we also liked the restaurant and the food. The hotel and area is also very quiet. Nice views of Schiehallion too! Recommended for sure.

You are wise to be suspicious of reviews as some are fabricated. This one is not. We have the receipts and expenses to prove it. We were shown to a small room at the very end of the hotel with a view of a parking lot and adjacent building. Nothing of the "captivating views as standard" claimed in their brochure. The room had hair in the sink, stains on the carpet, crumbs and general disarray, and was well-worn. Not the calibre of a 5-Star hotel. We asked for second room, this one had been recently cleaned. Once in, we realized the carpet was wet with cleaning solution. The Desk Mgr slipped and almost fell in the room. We were told to wear slippers to avoid the wet. We asked for a third room. The hotel is virtually empty. This room was acceptable but by now, we were exasperated and tired. This process, full of confusion and missteps, had taken over 2 hours. We decided to leave the hotel the following morning and short-shift our two day booking. We wanted to go back to Glasgow and the Hilton where we had been treated royally. For dinner, the hotel offered us two glasses of wine as compensation for our inconvenience. The dinner was adequate but not what we expected of a celebrated chef. We discovered later that evening that they had no intention of refunding us for the second night. They intended to keep the full cost of the two-night booking despite our departure after one night. We disputed but they refused to relent. We wish you a better experience. Scotland is beautiful
