Excellent staff, proper location , spacious room

Central location in Downtown Cairo (comes with Downtown traffic noise too). Large room, balcony, air conditioning.
Not very clean, mattress very worn/sunken, wifi often not working, hotel tried to overcharge.

only the stuff is very kind!
no trust you I can’t have what I booked!!

Convenient location and helpful staff, spacious room. I have done my research prior to booking and I didn’t expect much so I wasn’t disappointed.
Located in once grand and opulent building the place, just like much of the downtown area, is sadly in a dilapidated condition. Weird color scheme throughout the venue, random art decorations, no shower cabin in the bathroom, poor lighting of the room. Egyptian standard of cleanliness. Poor wifi signal, water pressure was problematic at times and we did experience a short black out one day. The freezer compartment door was missing from the fridge so everything inside just froze. Uncomfortable old mattresses.

The room is very nice and comfortable, WiFi is good, convenient location, easy to find, friendly staff
It took some time to convince the guy at the reception that I had booked and payed for the breakfast, but after that everything was perfect including the breakfast))

Hostgram's location was extremely convenient. Its in the downtown and all places are easily accessible from here. The hotel was very clean. All facilities were provided and the staff was polite and helpful.
Nothing. Everything was good.

Hostgram hostel..a hostel..located in downtown..convinient..room cleanin upon request..breakfast is the same every day..hard boiled eggs and tea..
Mohammed at the recepton was excellent..
The only problem we encountered was at the moment we had to pay for our stay..
A guy named Marco insisted for us us to pay in cash, even though they accept credit cards..
The moment I said we were going to pay with credit card,he said "no problem",but asked for a favor as a "friend"..Marco wanted to collect the money from the credit card but wanted to report to Booking.com as if we never showed up,even though we were already there for 8 days..the reason for that is so no commision had to be paid to Booking.com..as per his words..
A very heated conversation ended on us paying with credit card and to no more talking to this particular person who actually left a "sour taste" on our trip..
As a tip, bring your own toilet paper...the ones at the hotel are small and hard to get..
Egypt as a whole is a beautiful place to visit, and its people are wonderful..
Personally next time we will stay away from Hostgram...

What is on booking.com and reality is very different

location is great but noisy too! Bring earplugs
We stayed at a triple room but hot water runs out fast so we had to wait.

The hotel is situated in a very nice area, friendly service. Some of the best spots to have a real Egyptian experience nearby.
The beds are probably not to most people's liking, but I slept like a baby.

The bathroom had the shower literally above the loo and every time we showered the whole toilet was floated, water everywhere on the floor and on the wall having to put the towels and toilet paper outside the room.
I did mention this to the property and the owner shouted we could leave if we didn’t like it or move all our luggage to another hotel he owns, but at that point we were super tired after a long day traveling and we just stayed.
The next day the same guy shouted at us again in regards to the conversion euro-dollar and wanted us to take back the payment we did in euro on the checkin day and give him dollars or Egyptian pounds instead.
This stay was too stressful considering also the noise coming from the street and the staff not speaking good English most of the time, but the hotel has great potential for improvement. Please modernize and renovate it as the position is great and the rooms are very spacious. It needs definitely some work in order to call it a hotel.
The owner.

I liked how hospitable and helpful were the staff especially Mr Marco, Ms.Rania and people on the reception Omar, Mohammed and Mina. They treated guests with high morals. Hostgram got to be our home. For business purposes in Cairo, we also booked for our crew in Hostgram. Though they stayed for short time all their paperwork and stay was arranged by Mr.Marco with high responsibility sense. Everything was arranged and done in time...
The style of the place is old and modren at the same time.
Not only that I gained a good and safe place to stay at whenever I come to Egypt but also I gained a family

The transfer from the airport to the hotel that I reserved with the hotel was very smooth and quick, even though I landed with a lot of delay.
I was transferred to their sister hotel, which was closer to Tahrir Square (Tahrir View Hotel). I don't think I ever stayed in a room more depressing than this one. Dirty bed sheets and no cleaning during my stay. The bed and pillow were so hard, I could have also slept on the floor. Lots of noise due to the very central location. Fridge in the room was so loud, that I needed to unplug it to sleep (despite ear plugs). In the booking it said the room would also have a balcony (which it didn't) and it would be a lot bigger in size.

the staff are a group of crooks, they want to change our reservation to another hotel, which we did not choose and they really harassed us through whatsapp before our arrival, because we booked before 3 months and the prices have changed over time. and after when we did not agree to change our reservation they canceled our reservation in the middle of our stay and we need to find where we can spend the night at the last minute

As soon as I arrived, I felt a wonderful reception from Emad, who was following the stages of my arrival first and foremost, and I found the place wonderful, amazing, and comfortable to the point that I rented an apartment in the Maadi area for settling there, however, I extended the stay in the hotel for three nights. The area is wonderful and the building I liked its style and at the same time its modernity and cleanliness and the dealing of the hotel team. In my free time, I will be there downtown in that beautiful hotel.
Thanks to the hotel team who made me feel at home :)

The size of the room was good, and a good view of the lively road outside
On arrival, the manager would not accept a Visa or MasterCard and insisted that I pay in Egyptian pounds. It clearly stated on the booking.com website that this hotel accepted both Visa and Mastercard. I pointed out that tourists are not allowed to pay in Egyptian Pounds, and he later said he would take Visa, but then said he could not find the power supply to the card payment reader, so I had to pay him in Egyptian pounds, which cost me extra in bank charges. I was then charged a 3% commission on top.
The evening before I left I discovered that £100 had been stolen from my room, the manager seemed more concerned about his ratings than my loss.
At 9 am the following morning the manager said I could view the security camera recordings, but it would have taken me the better part of a day to look through four days of film, and as I was leaving at 12 noon I did not have the time.
No clean sheets or towels in the eight nights I spent there.
