Location
Only one room we booked was ready for us. They blamed Booking and said they didn’t know we had reserved two rooms. The second room reeked of cigarettes and had not been fully cleaned. Really disappointed.

This building have an amazing background, historical and architectural !!!
It is an amazing place to rest and enjoy but also a place to wonder about other times in Milwaukee. Staff is amazing and the lady in the reception by the mornings was incredible attentive and professional. I am so glad of this choice that i definitely recommend it for travelers.
Everything here is valuable and enjoyably . Am a travel agent for almost 30 years and this place will fit all your needs.
I could say the coffee maker was a bit dirty inside but took me 3 minutes to clean it myself.

What an amazing, historical building! Very cool that it has been transformed into a hotel. The photography on the walls of the public areas is evocative of the Milwaukee of generations past. Also, just a block from the impressive food market.
Can't think of anything.

Unique building with old school lobby area; excellent location downtown close to HOP, Third Ward, Public Market, and Riverwalk; safe and clean; kind staff; good food at The Social for breakfast and/or a quick snack; comfortable beds, TV’s have cable, Netflix, and Youtube you can steam from your phone on; complimentary snacks

The Architecture of the historic building
I paid extra for a room with river view, didn’t get it and supervisor who was at front desk said there were none available and because reservation was made through booking.com, there was nothing she could do about price I paid for river view but got view of brick. The tables in corridors (at 2:00 in the afternoon) we’re covered with empty liquor bottles, dirty glasses and dishes. The garbage cans were overflowing with trash. I asked for extra towels and hangers and they left shower floor mats, 4 of them, and no hangers. There were three sheets of Kleenex left in box and no back up to refill. Never received room service so sheets were not changed and garbage cans not emptied. Paid $36/night for valet and waited forever to get person to take and give keys when we wanted to use car. (Again explanation was “sorry it’s third party who runs valet.) Outside entrance had trash everywhere. (I have pictures) so basically paid $556 for room with view of brick and no services.

We were in awe of the beautiful architecture. 5 floors of unique ancient decor. We toured all 5 floors and got a great workout. It was beyond our expectations. The staff was excellent, very nice and provided us with all we needed. Thank you! We will stay again if we're ever in need of a hotel downtown.
The only thing we didn't like were the pillows. They were very 'airy' and went flat too quickly.

Location was great very easy to get around. Many restaurants/bars in walking distance. Only minutes by car to breweries and museums. Room was large with high ceilings and huge windows. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. All staff we interacted with were super friendly. The second night of our stay we were pleasantly surprised with a delicious bottle of wine and cheese and crackers left in our room.

The heating unit was very noisy, pillows were not very supportive, closet hangers, and desk lamp was too low.
