Breakfast was great. The host was very friendly. The area is beautiful and privacy was great.
The description was not quite a match with reality. It's not a farm. They used to have some horses but now are starting a small nursery. It isn't a farm house. It's a 60s brick two story home that is filled with mostly flea market things marked as antiques. We stayed in the "suite" in the basement. It was a long room with two queen beds, filled with collected items. The ceiling is a poorly constructed black drop ceiling. If you are 6 feet tall, your head will likely hit it. Many of the dropped ceiling panels were pushed in or misplaced showing the plumbing and wiring. The beds were split mattresses, where you could feel the lump of where the two halves met in the middle. It was very noisy as you could hear people walking and talking upstairs. For the amount we were charged, we could have stayed at a much nicer, cleaner place. But there isn't much out there, so you would need to stay closer to Asheville.

Our hosts were kind, helpful and made us welcome in their home. It was a last-minute reservation that really paid off! Cozy atmosphere, convivial conversation, and a scrumptious breakfast!
Everything was great! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Location. Willingness of Roger to address my requests and concerns. He really wants you to have a good stay. Having the Hard Boiled Eggs and fruit where I could grab them and slip out quietly in the mornings was very helpful.
I didn't realize that I was staying in someone's home when booking the reservation. (I probably missed that as I was pressed for time to get something set up) Even though they were very kind and accommodating I probably wouldn't do this again as this kind of lodging just isn't for me and I felt it was a bit pricey. The room (Creek) was hot and the air didn't really move. It was very still when the door was closed even with the little portable fan blowing. There was a sign that said don't open the windows the house is on Central AC and that makes me wonder if others had noticed the lack of flow and wanted to cool things down and get a breeze through the room. Downstairs was nice and chilly but the upstairs ran much warmer. I finally opened the door to the bedroom and turned off the hall light at night and that helped get some more air circulation into the room. I mentioned this to Roger after two nights of being so hot I was sweating and I had been in the heat all day riding a bicycle so I really wanted a good night of sleep. They did seem to turn the AC to a cooler temp the last night. I still kept the door open to sleep and it was better but a huge difference between the bottom floor and the upstairs temperatures. I would request a bottom floor room if you like cooler temps to sleep

The owner tried to be very nice, but they do have lots of rules. Too many for my liking. The exterior was nice, but some areas needed mowing, edging or maintenance outside. With all its short-comings, it was a good value for the price. It is also one of the few places to stay right in Marshall.
The A/C does not work well. It was very cold downstairs but sweltering in my room upstairs (and I keep my house at 76 degrees, so….). I could barely sleep. And they wouldn’t let you open the windows😡
As described/expected, it is a very cluttered place with lots of antiques. Not my favorite. It is an older ranch home, with smaller rooms. Some things are upgraded, some are not. The website did NOT indicate it was a shared bathroom (I went back and double- checked), but it was a (very small) shared bathroom. Thankfully I only had to share one day.
It is a curvy mountain road to get there (wouldn’t want to drive it at night), typical of the area. While they indicate they have plenty of parking, it is very tight to turn around if you have a large vehicle.

The staff was amazing, welcoming, and knew a lot of stuff about the surrounding area! The breakfast was also delicious! The place was quiet and peaceful!!
I don't have a single complaint!

Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Extremely generous. We had to leave at 5am for a flight and they left us coffee and pastries. It was excellent. The property was really beautiful, and the hosts were kind.
The room we stayed in had no windows and was cluttered with shelves and shelves of antiques. Could be a great touch for some, but it wasn't our preference.

It has a real down to earth homey atmosphere.
the only thing I didn’t like is that I had to leave

The property was beautiful but best of all, we slumbered in peace and comfort. An added bonus was the outstanding breakfast that had delicious, home-cooked options on the menu.
The breakfast table got crowded, but that is to be expected at any B & B during peak travel season.

Breakfast was really good. They had a nice selection. We enjoyed it.
The bathroom was upstairs and shared. Both of these aspects eally turned me off.

The bed and breakfast. Owner was very positive
The website was much more descriptive about the property than it really was. The overall expectations were not met based written description.

Beautiful grounds around the house. Very kind host.
The room was small and the breakfast was not what we expected. It was lovely, just simple and more like a hotel buffet bar.
