Nice house with character.

The apartment was quite charming really. I particularly enjoyed the panelled room.
Whanganui was a real suprise. An interesting and pretty city. I hope to come back when the Art Gallery reopens.
We also really enjoyed the River Road. I had read James K Baxter Sestina to the River Road and it was so lovely to have that journeying and cultural experience.

Tucked down a driveway this accommodation is quirky and interesting. It is one half of the house but quiet even though people right next door. Easy parking. Beds were comfortable and there was everything we needed. Gas fire very cosy in the drawing room. Close enough to town, and the water tower is in walking distance up a track close by. Can I suggest the rangehood gets a good clean (it was sticky by the buttons on top to turn it on) and also the alarm clock was too difficult to set.

Terry was very helpful and accomodating. Easy to liaise with. Fitted 4 adults a 2 children nicely. Comfy bed.
We had a lovely time in Whanganui.

A beautiful character home, close to the city centre but in a quiet neighbourhood. We found everything we needed and our hosts were friendly and thoughtful. We found Whanganui a fascinating, art-filled city.

Was easy and had everything we needed

It was to small for a group our size, 6 people & we were tripping over each other. We didnt like the fact the toilet was off the kitchen. If you looked up there was cobwebs everywhere. The place would be great for a couple but other than that Id look elsewhere. Its beautifully decorated but i wanted to dust & vacuum after settling in. The place is very well equipped so a bonus.

Quiet and private. Interesting old, character house with beautiful dark wood. Just meant the lighting wasn't great for reading. Easy access to the cycle way.

Great communication with owners.
Really clean, comfortable large old villa - felt like we were in old castle. Even dining room and good small kitchen fully equipped with plenty of cutlery, dishes, pans, etc. Very comfortable beds.
Most enjoyable stay.

Gorgeous vintage villa
A beautiful home with a small brisk walk past the river into town. Enough room to sleep all and adequate space to prepare a meal and eat ! Terry and Karen were amazing hosts and weren’t shy to our taste of music either :) 10 out of 10 recommend staying here if you ever find yourself and your whanau in Whanganui. Not to mention their cat was lovely.

There wasnt enough heating. Otherwise it it was fantastic

Quirky and comfortable
I'm not sure I've ever felt like a place was more exactly as advertised than this one. It's a grand old place, with the guest accommodation several rooms separated from the main residence. The beds were comfy and warm, and the dining room is like something out of Downton Abbey
Communication and check in were very smooth.

Villa in Whanganui
An historic villa with high ceilings. The flat was spacious with good cooking facilities. In a quiet neighborhood. Two gas heaters were sufficient to keep the house warm even on a very cold day.

Wonderful character home
We had a fantastic stay at this home and enjoyed the coziness of it. At first we were a bit chilly but the owner acted immediately and provided additional heaters. The beds were very comfortable!
Thank you very much for your kindness Terry! Hopefully we can return.

Disappointed
The location was fine- quiet neighborhood and close to town. We did find it very dreary inside though. Very dark, poor lighting, but perhaps that’s to be expected for being such an old home- it definitely does have character. It smelled musty and the bathroom had some sort of stinky perfume smell. We saw many cobwebs, mostly up in the very high ceilings. Furniture was worn and uncomfortable- most of it was very low. We did, however, find the bed we used pretty comfortable and slept well. Awkward kitchen and bathroom with little counter space. The shower was fine but, again, it was very dark! Washing machine worked fine.
