Location excellent. House well stocked with dishes, etc. beach supplies available in shed.

From one beach house owner to another remove the palm tree from the front window. We had a blessed time together. 🙏❤️👍

This is a lovely, very comfortable place in a spectacular location. Easy walking to the waterfront and grocery stores but quiet, very comfortably appointed, and terrific for a family. We were there with our adult kids and brother/sister-in-law for a New Year’s vacation and we had a fabulous time. We’d love to stay there again!

Our stay was wonderful, the home was well stocked, very comfortable and open. We were walking distance to shops, restaurants and just about everything you would need. I would stay here again. Property manager was quick to respond with questions. Check in and check out were easy.

This place is five stars for location. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Avalon that’s walking close to main areas and grocery store, this is the place. Flat. No hills to get to and from.
We had a great girls weekend. Three of us. Loved being able to walk back and forth when we wanted a break or change of clothes, etc. The street is quite busy but can’t be heard in the bedrooms.
Decor very cute. Bathrooms look relatively newly updated. Beds were comfortable - even the bunks (I slept in one of those).
TV great. Easy to use and navigate.
We dropped to three stars because a of a few things to note:
1. No dishwasher
2. Not really any outdoor seating - tiny back patio - no view or greenery (used for storage of beach chairs, toys)
3. Back bathroom is light and bright but has no privacy on big windows to outside tiny patio- very awkward.
4. Bathrooms seemed clean, bed linens and towels clean, but kitchen drawer pulls, door handles, door jams, etc, could use a scrub.
A bit more attention to regular maintenance and cleaning detail would bring this place up to five star.

We loved this place! Very happy with the living space for all six adults to relax after fun day exploring Catalina. Dining table was great size for board games and bathrooms were clean and remodeled nicely. Beach chairs were available which was very much appreciated. Beds and pillows were all comfortable. Kitchen was fine too. Could’ve used a full size coffee maker though. Overall great place!

We rented this unit for 2-nights and paid more than $2,800 for it. The pictures on the VRBO web-site gave us the impression that it would be newer, modern condo. The reality was far from it. The bathrooms had old dirty tiles. One of the bathrooms had large glass windows with no curtains, offered no privacy. The other bathroom was dark, with almost no sunlight. The fan in the front room did not work. The family room lacked a fan. There was no dish-washer. The unit was outrageously priced for what it had to offer. Sadly, VRBO does not seem to require or enforce any living standards and upkeep consistent with pricing. I shall definitely not rent this property again.

Overall 5 stars. 100% better then the last place we stayed in Avalon. Very classy home with a nice mix of vintage vibes with modern bathrooms and kitchen etc. quick and easy walk to the village.

Veronica was there for whatever we needed! she was awesome. We loved the location, just a few minutes from the beach and all the Main Street restaurants. The home is very comfortable and clean. It’s hard to find three bedrooms with lots of living space.

We loved the large living room and dining room spaces to spread out in. The location is perfect for walking everywhere in Avalon! We happened to stay over a cold weekend and there is no central heat other than the gas fireplace. There are also space heaters but they can’t all be on at once or they trip the circuit breaker. Thankfully there were plenty of extra blankets and comforters. Just be prepared in winter that the place is chilly. Other than that we really loved it and would likely stay there again on a warmer weekend.

Good unit but needs some TLC (we stayed in the upstairs unit last year which was immaculate). There are missing lightbulbs and lights switches that don’t work. I got trapped in the bathroom the first day because the handle would not work. Most of the doors and handles to the bedrooms had issues. The floors were extra creaky in some spots. This is still one of the better rentals in Catalina.

Great apartment in a great location!
This apartment was the perfect place for us to celebrate our friend’s birthday. So close to everything, clean and neat. Highly recommend!

Catalina Getaway
Very clean property and close walking distance to everything but the noise of the street was very noisy with golf carts since this is one of the main streets. We stayed in the downstairs unit so people also stay in the upstairs units which can be very noisy. Also the unit was not very well stocked with laundry detergent and dish soap. A nice unit for families!

Disappointing unit stay
Catalina is lovely and charming. The apartment is well located and close to the harbour, restaurants etc.
However the apartment was disappointing and pictures shown on the website do not truly reflect rooms now (bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen). They need attention. We had a broken toilet which took all day to get fixed (unresponsive manager), bad draining shower and upstairs unit noise. We were aware of the upstairs unit beforehand but not anticipating being woken at 6am with loud footsteps/luggage on the stairs as well as 3am (through til morning) with loud footsteps, moving furniture and voices (TV?). Suggest you bring earplugs in case you are unlucky. The living/dining areas are spacious and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped and stocked with non perishable items (but no dishwasher).
We loved Catalina and will return, but probably not to this accommodation.

way different than it looks online
dirty property with large spider webs in multiple corners, lacking matching glasses for the number of guests, needs a dishwasher and welcome book with wifi number, furniture is worn, back toilet runs non stop, shower doors are not fitted properly causing water to run out on the floor. Not stocked with everday items as anticipated. Needs a lot of TLC.

Fabulous
This place is fantastic! The location is awesome - a couple of minute walk to the pier, shops and restaurants and about a 5 minute walk to Von's for groceries. Awesome family style dinner table and great room for hanging out and playing games! We can't wait to go back!

Very nice bottom floor condo. Less than a 5 minute walk to the waterfront and to the Vons market. House had all the items needed. Beach towels, cooking utensils and some small food items, like sugar coffee, spices, etc.Even had a washer and dryer which came in handy. Very happy with the property.

Catalina is fun!
An island experience in la county that is pretty cool, however this house is in dire need of some tlc. A good scrub at the very least, paint and a remodel would be best. The appliances are broken, the lamp in the last review is still sparking! There is no door on the big bedroom, the furniture is filthy., the house is cluttered. There was a horrible fish smell that we couldn’t get rid of. The upstairs unit is very loud, we could hear it all. Construction started early one morning. There are no views, no natural light, and on a busy, noisy street. Pretty bad.
On the positive side, the beds were clean, the manager was very sweet and brought disinfectant and febreeze, she also loaned us a golf cart. The location is superb, the island charming. We will return to Catalina but we won’t stay here again.

Good location but had some kinks to work out
We all liked that shops and restaurants were walking distance from the house, on a flat road was a bonus. The social area was large with comfortable furniture. Beds were also comfortable.
We did run into several kinks that need to be addressed.
- Half of the lights in the dining room chandelier are burnt out so we pulled a lamp from one of the bedrooms to give more light to the dining room.
-Lamps behind couch weren't plugged in. Access to them was difficult as the large sectional is up against a built-in shelf.
- In the bathroom off the kitchen the shower handle falls off while trying to open/close the door and the toilet handle must be shook to turn off
- Had to call property manager because we couldn't figure out how to work the TV remove. An instruction notebook on this along with trash/recycling and WiFi information would have been nice.
- We didn't cook any meals there but one night wanted to have appetizers and needed a can opener - none to be found. Had to use rusty pliers. Cooking options are limited. Guests should take stock before grocery shopping so they know they can fix it.
- One bedroom only has two small drawers in closet for storage
- Have to hold knob on dryer for it to work
- On/off dial on lamp between twin beds started smoking when turned on
- Hooks needed in bathroom off dining area
I highly recommend owner or property manager spend a few days living there before it gets listed again so they can see first hand these issues and possibly more. Once they get addressed, I'd recommend the unit but not until then.

Catalina Townhouse
We recently went to Catalina for a family wedding. We enjoyed staying in the townhouse; it was spacious, clean, and conveniently located near the town and grocery store.
Well appointed, we'd happily stay there again!

Remodeling Upstairs
The accommodations were very nice. The decor was charming. The unit was very clean, with nice bedding and linens. Our only complaint was that the unit upstairs was being remodeled from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m., causing quite a racket when we were in the unit. The workers were very polite and when we asked them to be quieter, they were accommodating. If it weren't for that, this unit would get a five.

Perfect Avalon weekend
Loved our stay at this Avalon townhouse. Five minute walk to new Vons grocery store. Easy walk to town and pier. Three bedrooms and two full baths were perfect accommodations for eight. Seating in living room, along with sun room was perfect setup for group conversation. Of course it helped that the weather was perfect and the hills were sprinkled with wild flowers and were100% green. Would definitely reserve for a return visit.

A charming place for a sister reunion. The house is in a busy Main Street in town. Great location!
5 Sisters look for a place to laugh, cry and catch up with each other every year! The house was plenty large for us to cook meals and eat at large table, play games in the warm family room and read books on the sun porch. When it was time to dress for dinner the two bathrooms and extra sink worked well. The property is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, spa and the ferry. Veronica, our contact, was very attentive to us. She provided a golf cart for us on one day delivered right to the front of the house with a good rate. We returned home from the spa one day to a paint smell. They were working upstairs on another unit. An open door took care of it. The house is located on a busy Main Street. We loved all of the activity. We would recommend a dishwasher. There were plenty hands to wash and dry though and it reminded us of when we washed and dried dishes together as kids. The fireplace was warm and inviting and the house had plenty of warm blankets to snuggle and pillows to relax. We loved the museum and hiking trails. The house is located very close to the information center where you can pick and plan your activities for the day. The shopping is perfect if you need a sun hat, souvenir or new outfit. This house provided us many memories and we will treasure the time we spent together in Catalina.

Cute, comfortable, and close to everything!
We rented the bottom unit for a ladies weekend and had the best time! The property was comfortable, spacious, and we appreciated all of the themed decor throughout the home. A major bonus was how everything was in walking distance - the ferry, restaurants, shopping, spas, Descanso beach, etc. We ended up having great weather and spent most of our time outdoors, but loved coming together in the large living room area when we would return. We would definitely book this property again!

Ask If Anything is Broken Before You Book
What we didn’t like - We stayed in January - winter - it was cold and the heating in the home was broken. We were not informed of this until we contacted the house manager to ask how to turn it on upon our arrival at the home. We were told that the owners were aware and that they had recently stayed in the upstairs unit without heat. We were told to use three small portable heaters to heat the home. Because the home is old the electrical system couldn’t handle all three heaters being plugged in at the same time without all of the homes power shutting off. We dealt with power outages constantly that first night and throughout the stay until we figure out what could be plugged in. We could only have heaters in two of the bedrooms at night because of this and we couldn’t charge cell phones- it was heat or phones. Heat won. The temperature inside the house during the day was 60 degrees, colder at night I’m sure. My husband and I went without heat to keep our kids warm. We were told that a repairman would be coming to fix the heat at noon the day after we arrived. We stayed out of the home until 4pm to stay out of the way. Upon returning the heater was still broken. I texted the house contact again who told me the repairman never came but she was trying to contact him. Needless to say the heat was never fixed. The dryer is also still broken so if you need to do laundry ask about that too. I contacted Evolve (they manage the property) during our stay for help but didn’t get a response until after we returned home. I requested a full refund and it took some time for the owners to respond. I was offered one nights stay not including fees. I responded back asking for half of the 3 nights stay without fees and got an email stating that the one night had been refunded. We paid over $1600 to freeze with the promise that the heat would be fixed. Felt strung along. I hope the owners use the rest of our rental fees to fix the heat & dryer.
What we liked - The unit is walking distance to the boat dock and restaurants. The family room is spacious. The beds were comfortable. The decor is nice. It’s hard to enjoy yourself when it’s freezing cold. We were also offered the use of the owners golf cart on the third day - I don’t know if this was to try to appease us in place of fixing the heat?? It was raining so we had no use for the golf cart. We just wanted the heat fixed. This was my first visit to Catalina and after this experience we won’t go back.

Rented both units together - it was GREAT!
We rented both units for our family in December and we loved our stay. The location is perfect - a quick walk to the main strip by the water and mini golf, etc. The street is mostly quiet with golf carts driving by every few minutes. The units are comfortable and convenient and meet all your needs! We had family members ranging from 9 months to 61 years old and the place was perfect for all ages! We loved it and would rent it again! Go directly through the rental agency (Evolve) for a better rate!

Beautifully decorated, perfect location!
We rented the downstairs duplex, and family friends were upstairs. Both are beautifully decorated and well appointed. Our contact for the house was amazing, and extremely responsive. The location is awesome for walking around Avalon, and we felt safe allowing the kids from both families (ages 14, 12, 12, & 10) run around Avalon together. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving getaway, and will definitely be back!

Enjoyable Catalina.
Our group of 6 women loved the nautical themed decor. This townhome is walking distance to the stores and restaurants of Central Avalon and a few blocks from the Catalina Express Ferry station. It had all the amenities of housekeeping. Nice home!
