The set up of this place was perfect for the amount of people we had! I booked for two families w/ kids each (4 total) and it while we did have two (dad and son) drop it still would’ve worked.
It’s super close to town, well laid out, with plenty to entertain the kids. I loved cooking in the kitchen as well. While the back yard isn’t fully fenced it is mostly and we felt comfortable with our dog off leash as long as we were out there. Though, might not be good if you have a runner!
The owner was very attentive but not over bearing.
We would absolutely stay there again.

Mike is an incredible host and honestly wants his guests to have a perfect trip. The location is perfect for getting on the mountain. The house is great for kids and plenty of room for a large family. The kitchen is more stocked than any place I have stayed. And the sauna. For any sauna lovers, this is a real gem. Can’t wait to come back!

My husband and two children (ages 5 and 7) stayed here for a ski getaway and we had the best time! The house (though a bit smaller than I expected from the pictures) was just perfect. Mike, the owner, thought of every little detail. From having shampoo & conditioner in every bathroom to a work station with a greenscreen set up for those that need to do some work while staying there to a curated selection of wine available in case you'd like to try something new. The kitchen was better equipped with quality appliances and cooking essentials than my own kitchen at home. The kids loved the wide variety of toys, books, and games and, of course, the fussball table. We also enjoyed the hot tub after skiing every day. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try out the sauna since it was just too warm, but I loved the idea of it. On the other hand, the kids did play on the little play structure and swing set in the back every day. And of course, we all loved telling and asking the computer things - the whole house is computerized.
The location was perfect - the house is conveniently located with only a 4 minute drive to the slopes and a few minutes to Whole Foods. (plus a bunch of restaurants).
Thanks again Mike! We hope to be back!

Renter Beware
We reserved this home in mid-April and were notified 6/22 that the reservation was cancelled due to a "rate discrepancy". This means the owner decided to be a greedy, selfish cow and DOUBLE THE PRICE. We were able to verify that this property was re-rented within 24 hrs for twice the price.
We had arranged for friends to come in from all over the country -- from Alaska, Alabama, & Washington DC. Coordinating our vacation time, additional travel from the airport, etc -- so many logistics went in to planning this and now we have nowhere to stay.
Yes, the owner has the right to charge whatever they want -- but to CHANGE the price after an advertised price and reservation? Smells too much like bait-and-switch. I also understand Economics 101 -- as demand goes up, so does price (apparently COVID had nothing to do with this disaster). Ethics asks, "Just because you can, should you?"
(Karma, please take over!)
And we'll never use Evolve Vacation Rentals either -- they allow this. I can understand something like COVID messing up travel/vacation plans. But NOT a "vacation rental" company that doesn't consider the renters as 'customers'...only the rental property owners. So if you're a renter, you don't matter. Just keep that in mind if you're looking to reserve THIS property or work with Evolve period.

I don't think there's anything the host didn't think of. Everything is labeled, the tech integration is amazing. It's a great property whether or not you decide to leave it during your stay. There's a game room, all the premium streaming, a hot tub and sauna, a backyard with slackline, trampoline, and play structure, and a fenced in dog run. The internet is fast.
If you do want to leave its very easy to get to Stateline, to the beaches, and to the lake. It's basically perfect.

My family stayed here for four nights. Our host Mike was the greatest he was right there if we needed anything. Plenty of room and toys for the kids. Loved the hot tub and sauna. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that we needed to cook. Great place to sat, relax and enjoy watching the snow come down. We would stay here again. Mrs. Haug

BEST KID FRIENDLY HOUSE EVER!!!
PROS: The house has so many kid activities without having to leave the house! Between the playground, the trampoline, tons of games for all ages, a tent, toys galore, and an upstairs with a small living room, the kids never wanted to leave the house! We visited this house with 4 kids and 4 adults, so it was so nice that the house entertained the kids for our entire trip! There were lots of adult friendly options in the house too- The front deck, and the backyard were just serene and relaxing, yoga mats, blocks, foam roller, TRX workout area, hot tub and sauna, and even a cabinet full of glasses for all types of cocktails!! The best part about this house was that the kitchen was stocked full of the basics! It also had great technology additions including Alexa (which the kids used for music of course!), all the TVs were Roku, and were set up to have many options to watch/stream!
Mike was very helpful and friendly upon arrival. It was clear he spends a lot of time trying to add options to the house to enhance rental experience!!! I can’t say enough good things about this house!
Oh! And our dog LOVED the open backyard!
CONS: It is located on a pretty busy road. The front gate secured the dogs from running out, and the large backyard made you forget about the road!
I would recommend this home to anyone spending some time in Tahoe with family/friends and kiddos! (Our kids were all under 5)

Great house, great location, great host...we had such a great stay. Thank you!

Right from the get go Mike did a great job of making us feel at home. The property had everything we needed and then some! Our 18mo old daughter couldn’t get enough of the playground out back, our three dogs went nuts over the space to roam around, my wife loved the hammock and I really enjoyed the hot tub. The property was 5 min from all the shops and 5-10 min from the beaches. The only thing we were surprised about was there was no A/C but even in the middle of summer the nights were cool enough and we had no problems getting some good sleep. Great value and superb hospitality, definitely recommend!

Great house, great location, great host...we had such a great stay. Thank you!

A good house for two couples, or a family with kids.
The house has lots of nice amenities (good TVs with streaming, reliable wi-fi, stocked kitchen, board games, grill, hot tub, electronic front-door keypad). The backyard has a good playset for kiddos, and lots of room to hang out and relax.
The property manager was helpful and quick with responses. Can tell that he wanted us to enjoy our stay.
Location is close to Stateline, restaurants, and grocery stores. But the house is also on a pretty busy street, so there isn't that "Tahoe cabin" feel if you're trying to get away.
A bit pricey for the size, but overall a good, clean, quality property.

It was more than enough space for our family of six and our two years old toddler was very happily exploring both floors including a game room and teepee in the bedroom upstairs. Kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable to sleep! Alexa was entertaining to play with and provided us with good selection of music played per our requests! Good house and great location!

Great property and good location. Everything was clean and in working order. Beds were comfortable and clean. We will certainly stay here again.

Very comfortable for our 2 families of 4 (kids ages 4-7). Organized, clean, well-stocked, fun!.
We loved the home - so close to Heavenly, but we opted to avoid the crowds and drive to Kirkwood. The kids loved their upstairs space with trundle beds and fussball table. They spent most of the their time in the spacious hot tub. The two bedrooms for the parents were very comfortable with K sized beds, and it was nice that they each opened up to the backyard/hot tub. We made good use of the Weber grill on the living room deck. And we enjoyed all the connected amenities: Alexa, G-boom speaker, smart TVs, Xbox, Nest. We would definitely return for the location, comfort and attentiveness of our host. Thanks Mike!

Highly Recommend Stunning Cabin!!!
I just recently book this cabin in South Lake Tahoe for a ski/boarding trip with my wife and a few friends. From the pictures it looked pretty nice but you really can't appreciate until you get there. Wow what a find everything about it was great from location, amenities to layout we loved it. If you coming to South Lake Tahoe and want a cabin that takes into consideration all the little things book this one you will not be sorry.

Great property and host!
The cabin at the Pines was wonderful. Mike is a great host who was kind enough to meet us at the cabin and show us around. Great location, great amenities in the home, and an overall relaxing stay. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful house with all the necessities
We had a awesome experience . Clean and beautiful house and has all the things needed to keep you entertained. Kids had lot of fun.
Its very close to heavenly which is very convenient.

Liked the rooms and location was ok. pretty well provisioned but strange set up with sauna/spa
thought charging a clean up fee for the spa and sauna was weird (bait and switch). It was advertised as part of the property but to get it unlocked we had to pay an additional "cleaning fee" on top of the unit cleaning and service fees. Then the sauna took about 90 minutes to heat up every time we wanted to use it. Strange set up for extra fee facility that was not clearly spelled out up front. That prevents this from being a 4-5 star property - too bad.

Fabulous winter getaway
Wonderful property close to Cal Base. Mike met us when we arrived to make sure we knew how to work the sauna and hot tub and make sure we had everything we needed. The home was very spacious and comfortable, and we loved the gas fire for a cozy feel and the Echo to play whatever music we wanted and to check the weather conditions. The place was stocked with everything we needed to have a great winter get away.

Perfect hub for our ski trip!
Although there is not much snow in Tahoe this year, we found this place to be a perfect place for our family and friends to gather! The layout is thoughtful and we really appreciated the upstairs kids room, rec. area, and 3 bathrooms! The kitchen/family/living area is open and inviting. Lots of space outdoors for the kids and k9 companions. Everyone loved the hot tub! We did end up skiing and returned to enjoy evenings full of good food and family fun! Mike (the owner) is friendly and organized!

nicely kept and decorated updated
The smart home is nice but very difficult to opperate we had to use our
computers to get the televisions to work Took a long time.
the tv in one of the bedrooms didnt work at all. more towels would have been nice
cute little house though, nicely decorated and we loved the Jacuzzi and the sauna.

Cozy and well-equipped!
We really enjoyed our Christmas vacation at the Pines on Pioneer. Hiking trails, skiing at Heavenly and local shops/restaurants were easily accessible. Mike, the owner, was very helpful and responsive when we had questions. Great to be able to bring our dog. And everyone loved the hot tub and trampoline. We would definitely recommend this wonderful home and hope to come back one day soon.
