About this cabin rental
Mountain View Lodge comes by its name honestly: From its covered deck, you’ll have a spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains, which stand just beyond the lush woodlands surrounding the log home. The vistas are only one reason, however, that this three-story, eight-bedroom home is so special.
Because it can sleep as many as twenty-six people, Mountain View Lodge is ideal for a multi-family vacation, a school reunion, or a church retreat. Each of the three bedrooms on the top floor includes a king-size bed, a TV, loads of storage, and direct access to a balcony. You and your sweetheart can linger beneath the stars before snuggling up in bed, or you can wake up early to catch the morning mist rising over the mountains, all without waking any of the others.
The fourth bedroom, on the main floor, has its own king-size bed and TV, among other comforts. The lower level includes two bedrooms with King-size beds and two with queen-size bunk beds. The kids will love the bunk beds, which can sleep four people; every night will feel like a slumber party! Should you have additional guests, the sofa in the downstairs game room opens into a bed for two, as does one of the living room sofas. Please note that bedrooms 7 and 8 share a bathroom and do not have individual doors for privacy.
There’s plenty more to do at Mountain View Lodge than sleep. The house has two game rooms. The downstairs room features a full-size pool table, a foosball table, and a pub-style table perfect for playing cards or surfing the web (the lodge has free WiFi). In the top floor’s game room you have a choice of arcades to play. This room has a TV and a wet bar too, making it a great rainy-day hangout.
Another fun space for whiling away a few hours is Mountain View Lodge’s home theater. From the ten cinema-style chairs you and your friends can watch a movie on a 110” screen. You may never want to go to your local movie theater again!
Located on the main floor, the living room is as handsome as it is comfortable, with stately leather couches, yet another TV and a fireplace to gather by after a day on the slopes. Just off the living room is the huge dining area. Furnished with three large tables, it can seat the whole gang at once, even if you have a full house.
The kitchen, like the dining area, is designed to accommodate a crowd. That means two refrigerator/freezers, two ovens, two microwaves, even two dishwashers, plus a wealth of pots, pans, gadgets, and tableware. The kitchen also has generous counter space, storage, and room for several people to cook at once.
Rockers on Mountain View Lodge’s three covered decks enable everyone to revel in the stunning scenery, the crisp mountain breezes, the chirping of wrens and warblers during the day, and the hooting of owls at night. So serene is the setting, you’ll be amazed by just how close the lodge is to the local attractions. For instance, less than a half-mile away is the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 shops, galleries, and studios. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is less than fifteen minutes away. Just as close is downtown Gatlinburg, home to thrill rides, mini golf, arcades, restaurants, and a tram that will carry you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area. After you return from your action-packed day, you can soothe your weary muscles in one of Mountain View Lodge’s two outdoor hot tubs.
Mountain View Lodge’s numerous other amenities include a washer and dryer, six and a half bathrooms, cable channels, and plenty of parking on a private paved driveway. Perhaps best of all, it features plenty of large rooms where everyone can gather to make memories together, as well as enough space so that you can treat yourself to private time if you’re so inclined.
Experience Mountain View Lodge’s pleasures for yourself: Book your stay today, and get ready for what might be your best vacation yet.

This cabin is conveniently located only minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which makes the location ideal for a Smoky Mountains trip.
It featured plenty of sleeping space for my party of 14 and I appreciated the large kitchen that had two fridges, two ovens and all of the kitchen equipment you would need. But that’s where the pleasantries stop.
The cabin is obviously run by a vacation company, one that believes in providing as little as possible.
There were NO Amenities… no shampoo/conditioner, no trash bags, no salt and pepper…. We were told that we had to provide all of it… adding a considerable expense to our grocery bill and taking up precious time.
The rocking chairs are dry rotting and one of them broke when we sat it in. The hot tubs were cold, the WiFi was non functional, the kitchen knives were dull, dishes were chipped, shower doors were broken. I mentioned all of this to the company and received only a small refund (not even 10% back) for the neglect this cabin has had.
If the maintenance needs weren’t bad enough the cabin lacked personality and care. The towels were as thin as shop rags, the blankets were so thin my crew went and bought their own to use, even the toilet paper was cheap. Overall we were pretty disappointed.
There are better cabins in the area with a better price range that provide more. Keep looking.

We were excited to see the bears but they tore up trash because someone before us did not latch the garbage cans. We tried to get someone out to clean up the mess they made because we had to drive through it daily but no one ever showed up!!

Overall cabin was great..... worked well for our group! Could have been a little cleaner and needs some upgrades on small appliances most of them don’t work properly, but I would use this cabin again

We had a great time. We think you have a leak coming from master bedroom on main floor down into bathroom on floor with bunk beds.

We had exactly 26 teens and adults for a youth group convention. It was the perfect location. Close enough, but far enough so that we were not in all the craziness! It was beautiful and just the right amount of things to keep the tens busy!
I do wish that there were sheets for the pullout couches and pillow cases for the extra pillows.
We will be back next year though!

The house was awesome, and had plenty of room. We were fully stocked with linens for all 17 people, and the area was clean. We enjoyed the arcade games, and the large king rooms/bathrooms. The downside was the lack of communication from Jackson Mountain Homes. We didn’t receive our door code until after check in, and I had to call to get it. I was on hold for 40+ minutes. Other than that, we had a great experience.

NEEDS REPAIRS
This cabin definitely needs some maintenance. We called from the first day of our arrival to the end of our stay and were continously told someone would come to fix the numerous issue with the cabin but NOONE ever showed up. The dryer didn't work, pin ball machine only had one working paddle, mattresses had sink holes, linen smelled like dogs, one of the shower doors didn't work, there was no fridge in mini bar, only one hot tub (which another was installed later, but owner didn't even know the cabin was rented out for our stay) one of the burners didn't work on stove top, and several other issues. For the money that we were charged this is RIDICULOUS..This could be a very nice cabin if money was invested to fix these issues and add some UPDATES. Views of mountain was very nice.

Great stay.
I loved the location great stay. Only 15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. My family and I were looking to stay a weekend over at Gatlinburg this was the perfect place. Although the hot tub was not working I was notify before my arrival. Would definitely stay again.

Good house for a group but needs repairs.
A little frustrated that none of the problems mentioned from August reviews were fixed before our very expensive week after Christmas stay. Both hot tubs were also still broken. Last note there is no door between the bunk bedrooms. Was definitely a problem for our group.

Make sure the owner has paid the bills
This house is large enough to accommodate and very well laid out. The kids and teens loved the bottom floor space. Except when the toilet started leaking and soaked the floor the last night we were there.
The owners had not paid the satellite bill so we had no way to watch the olympics. This blew my mind. And apparently when the management company contacted the owner about it, they were rude and dismissive of the issue.
Couldn’t use the internet because service was awful. So we were on vacation with 6 kids between 17-7 with no TV or internet. Just let them play outside? Nope, couldn’t do that either because the bear lock on one of the dumpsters was broken so we had a bear visitor in the driveway each evening. And other guests kept putting trash in the unlocked dumpster. Bear threw garbage all over the driveway. Property maintenance would drive right over it, as well as the garbage trucks.
Movie theater only plays dvds. But if it did accommodate a streaming device, the internet was so bad it wouldn’t matter.
The bed linens were awful. Cheap and old.
Carpet was gross. Old and needs to be replaced.
In one bedroom the mattress was literally slanted so you would feel like you were falling out of the bed.
The GoldenTee game is not there.
The chair in the living room photo is not there. Just the couch and the love seat.
The house was not ready at check-in time and we had to wait for an hour.
The dining tables are sticky. Need to be refinished.
The kitchen utensils need to be restocked.
We paid over 7k for 5 nights and this is what we got. Disappointed.

Multiple issues
We had multiple issues with leaks in the cabin. Asked maintenance to come. Someone was sent and he said they would need to send a repair guy. Repair guy never came. One Of the guests bedrooms had to use the kitchen trash can bc their ceiling was leaking so bad. 3 bathrooms the shower door would not shut. Hot tubs would not heat and one of them the nets would not shut off. Also had issues with hot water in many of the bathrooms.
Side note for a cabin that sleeps 26, there is a “living room” area that seats only 5 people.

Family Christmas
For several years I have rented a cabin to celebrate Christmas with my children and grandchildren, as my family has grown finding adequate space has become difficult until now. Cabin is large and accommodating with something for all ages.

Team Building in the Mountains
The place is beautiful. We ran into a couple hiccups as the air conditioner went out, but the management company had windows units put in within hours. The ladies managing this property are world class. The always answered and responded with solutions to any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely stay here again!

2nd Annual Family Trip
The property was nice the parking space was great we did have to stay on a hill this time.
We have a little leak with one o f the hot tub which we believe to cause friction in the living room lights. On Friday morning the stove lost to power and we have to finish cooking in the oven. There was a hole in the one of the bedroom downstairs. We were offer to stay somewhere else but the other rental looked scary like a real castle.
The overall stay was great we enjoyed the view and time spent at the cabin.

Beautiful property in need of some TLC
This very large home is situated perfectly close to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the National Park. It has a spectacular view. Sadly the property has not been kept up. The decking on all three levels is falling apart. Some boards are loose or broken and there is a LOT of water damage from a leaking hot tub. The carpenter bees have cause a lot of damage. There is a HORRIBLE musty/moldy smell in the basement level with the bunkbeds. This is where we put the kids but I was very afraid of the possibility of mold spores with them. I am thankful the kids were able to sleep down there because I don't think that I could have managed the odor. The furniture in the family room on the main level cannot support the weight of a 150lb person without having the cushions hit the ground. The dining room tables are large and sturdy, but the finish is coming off. We had to go and buy sheets to place on top to keep from sticking to the tables. We ruined a few decks of cards trying to pick cards off the table that kept sticking. There are two refrigerators. One was able to keep our food cold, but the other took three days to cool our items down. We had to keep our truly perishable items, like milk, in one refrigerator. We kept our drinks that we wanted cold in our iced coolers. The air conditioning units looked like their wooden supports were going to give way and fall off of the mountain. The Golden Tee game was non-functional. The TV in the upper left bedroom did not work. The shower head never stopped leaking in upper middle bedroom/bathroom. I think we discovered water on the floor on the main level from this leak on the day we were leaving. We enjoyed our time with family and everything the area has to offer, but I was VERY upset that the place was not in better shape given the amount of money we were spending during the summer months. The owner should suspend rental of this property until it can be sufficiently serviced. Many of the items I have mentioned in this review have been reported as much as a year or more previously.

We had a great time visiting the area, but the facility needs help
Beautiful setting, and area, but your upkeep of the facility has much to be desired. Upon arrival the top floor AC did not work took too long to get some one to repair it.
The TV in the one bdrm never did work even with a service man coming out.
The entire deck railings etc. have been neglected far too long. The top hot tub leaks constantly and has dripped down to the lower floor and caused rotting of the wood round the lower bdrm door and wall and deck. The couch/hide-a-bed on the main floor is so bad you set on the floor nearly and is very uncomfortable. The kitchen sink leaks constantly.
lastly in every home we have rented in the past they provide garbage bags, TP for the bathrooms, more than one dish towel, soap and the basic essential and for the price you charge that should be the minimum you would provide.
The last thing is the general cleanliness of the area surrounding the facility. There was trash all around the dumpsters, all over the grounds such that it appears that no one is concerned about taking care of the area. You have a beautiful area, facility why not take pride and take care of it.

Great views and spacious porches
Amazing views and spacious porches at the cabin. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and relax. Had a few issues with bugs and the beds aren’t the most comfortable but not anything to complain too much about especially for a cabin. Overall a great stay for a relaxing weekend in the mountain.

Ok property..mattresses old..a TV and wifi inoperable
We arrived with trash strewn around the outside of cabin. Our given door code didn't work and as soon as we got inside (after call #1 to management) we realized there was no wifi. Additionally one of the downstairs bedrooms TV did not work. Call #2 to management started the never ending process of trying to get the situation fixed. Management came by Wednesday but could not fix issue - said someone would be by first thing in morning...no one showed until mid-afternoon (after call #3) - but said we needed new modem. With each call to management we would have to start from the beginning and tell a different person on the phone the entire scenario. Thursday we were told a new modem would be overnighted and installed Friday...management showed up and asked us where the package was to install..nothing ever delivered. We were given the must be the weather excuse. Either way nothing was done on Saturday as well. The inoperable TV downstairs was never addressed.
When the cleaning crew comes out to clean...someone from management should come out to ensure all electronics, wifi, etc work. With what we were paying per night there is no excuse for something that doesn't work or isn't fixed immediately.
Disappointing.

Beautiful Large Home
We were very pleased with our stay. The home was very clean and spacious. Nearly every bedroom has its own private bath which is rare for a rental this size. All but one of the bedrooms has its own private door to the large wrap-around balconies. Double ovens, double refrigerators and double dishwashers was a huge plus for a large crowd. The setting is beautiful and we had a bear visit in front of our cabin two evenings in a row! The location is convenient to an Arts & Crafts shopping area without having to go to in the congested part of Gaitlinburg. Highly recommend.

Spacious home with great views and room for big families/groups
This was a great 4-night stay in this very spacious home. There were multiple areas for the kids and adults to spread out and be entertained on each of the 3 levels of the house. The parking is ample, the view is beautiful and the home was clean. My only reason for leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is 1) the beds... The mattresses are not very comfortable and need to be replaced. And 2) the downstairs area noticeably smells of mildew. While it all looks clean, the smell hits you as soon as you descend the stairs to the lower level, so none of us slept downstairs past the first night. Overall, I would recommend this property to any large family or group traveling together. It's ideal to house a crowd.

Wonderful place for a large family gathering!
We really enjoyed our stay. The 8 bedrooms and large parking area made it the perfect spot to gather with family and friends.

House is nice, management company is poor, internet is poor
We did a company retreat at this house, nine people. The house is one of six in development, you are not alone in the wood. House was very nice and clean, kitchen was not fully stocked and one of the dishwashers did not work. My biggest problem was with the management company they use. They say 100% response rate when you contact them online, and they are correct, but that is an automated message. To get to someone in person is not easy and they are not very accommodating to say the least. I would even say they are rude. We wanted to see if we could get in early on the day of arrival, simple request, but got a very non professional response back. Hard to get in touch with anyone in person. The other problem is the internet, as a previous person wrote, it is a problem, very spotty. Might go back it we need too, but would probably look for another house managed by another company that would be more personable and accommodating.

This property was perfect! We have 17 people and everyone was comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked, bathrooms in every bedroom and plenty of table space for our large family. I would highly recommend this house! Close to everything!
