good ambience in comfortable surrounds. Reasonable choice of buffet.
Found it strange to be told that as there were 120 breakfasts to cover and only one chef it was not possible to request an omelette and as there was nobody manning the bar it wasn’t possible to request a cappuccino.Bar and restaurant charges were over-priced. Majority of guests were of an age which would make it difficult to walk out in an evening. Consequently in-house prices became a case of take it or leave it. We left it!

Exceptionally helpful staff. Comfortable rooms, well maintained, very clean, secluded outdoor heated swimming pool. Beautiful grounds. Nice breakfast with a lot of choice. A very enjoyable stay.
Bedroom a little warm in hot weather but cooling fans provided. Great place for a wedding can mean music can be heard in some bedrooms

The room was very clean with lovely views. We were upgraded to a suite so we also had a lounge area. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.
I didn't like the glass shelves in the bathroom. They were not quite big enough for me.
4.2
The food was of a very high quality and very tasty. All of the staff we encountered were very professional and helpful.
the views from the conservatory were fabulous.
not a lot other than the drinks from the bar were overly expensive, not including the wine in this statement.

It was as we expected based on previous stays.

Charming and comfortable, the receptionist could not have been more helpful and went out of her way for the stay to the best possible.

Old world charm, excellent service, spotlessly clean and everything you want from a hotel with style and charecter. My single room was small but I had a sea and cliffs view, a reasonable shower, tv, internet and kettle for tea plus an iron and board. Parking was included and the hotel is a short walk to the beach. Loved it…and manager Jonathon needs to be complimented on his standards and staff training.
As always with a single mattress against a wall my mattress needed to be regularly turned and flipped to avoid a soft edge that has has you leaning towards the floor…

Parking is easy. The hotel is a large attractive building which overlooks the sea. The staff were helpful.
Whilst the dining room is beautiful, yet the tables are very small and you feel as if you are eating the food on your lap! The evening meal itself was dull, lazily prepared and overpriced. Our double room was cramped.

Setting and the grounds atr very pretty

They have an electric car charger. The grounds are very well kept. There is a nice well-kept swimming pool games to play on the lawn. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

WE HAD A SEA VEIW ROOM OVERLOOKING THE FRONT LAWNS AND HIDDEN OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL. THE MEALS AT THE HOTEL WERE VERY GOOD AND WE ENJOYED EATING IN BOTH RESTAURANTS, ROOM SMALL BUT VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS AND SUPER VIEW ACROSS THE SEA. THE HOTEL STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL. WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING HERE FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION.
THE BIRD SONG RECORDING THAT PLAYED THROUGH OUT THE DAY OVER THE OUTSIDE PATIO. THIS WAS THE ONLY MEANS OF MAKING SURE THE SEAGULLS DID'NT INVADE THE LAWNS. SHAME BUT NECESSARY.

Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Service a little slow- they forgot my tea.
Room very comfortable for a single room. Rear view on third floor meant I could see the South Downs and I was high up enough not to be overlooked.
The public areas are particularly pleasant with cosy corners to sit in and views of the sea when having afternoon tea.

a hidden gem, took me by surprise how much I enjoyed this old worldly hotel. from the lobby to the bowling green / gazebo area with hidden heated outside swimming pool. The crystal restaurant with excellent food and service I really enjoyed this hotel that I stumbled upon 👍👍

Comfortable bed and pillows and nice view from the garden.
Breakfast is lower than average. The room is very noisy (you can hear machinery and steps from other rooms above). The room was extremely hot even though it wasn't a particularly warm day. I had to sleep with the window open.

Breakfast was not good at all . The coffee was undrinkable, and eggs cold on dry hard toast

Old world charm dining room.
Breakfast Maitre d’ outrageously bad mannered on the Basil Fawlty scale. Overly familiar, arrogant and bullying - this man should not be dealing with the public.

fabulous location and felt very grand as you walked in.
on the whole I thought my stay was lovely, the rooms are a little dated but to be expected.

Lovely room with stunning sea view, staff where all super.
Breakfast delicious, just a shame not served in the conservatory with the sea & garden view.

There was a great atmosphere at the Hydro. The location, facilities all helped, but mainly all the people working there were genuinely friendly, The breakfast was amazing too.
The weather, but hey!

Everything about the hotel itself was excellent, from staff to the room. Breakfast and dinner were excellent.
I appreciate the hotel clientele seem to be in the upper age bracket, but some exercise facilities (gym) would have been fantastic
4.2
The service and food quality of breakfast were exceptional. (Cannot comment on dinner as we did not dine).
Noisy neighbours arrived about midnight in the room above ours.

Lovely location. Excellent traditional hotel with traditional good qualities.
