Gorgeous view of the valley - but of course you need to have a good weather. 5-min drive to Hermitage where breakfast/cafe is available, along with other museums and tours. Mt Cook view from Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe & Bar! Great stores, hiking maps and super helpful staff.

Super für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Man kann dort gut Abendessen.
Leider gab es keinen Aufzug, was den Transport des Gepäcks nicht besonders leicht macht.

The view from the hotel is beautiful and short distance to the hiking tracks.
The room is quite small.

Excellent mountain view. Warm underfloor heating.
There is a restaurant upstairs. The quantity and the price did not match. I had to order two meals to make me full.

excellent location, very clean with very good room facilities, multiple dinning options
car parking very limited.
on the basis that there are usually 2 people to a room, two chairs to sit on would be better than one.

The location
Facing the parking lots with no privacy. People upstairs walking around making noises till very late and stared again in very early morning.

Toilet was clean, appears new. Good view from our room.
Room was on the upper level, no lift available, we had to carry our bags up ourselves. Basic facilities and amenities. Not much food choices available around the area.

The location is phenomenal with fantastic views of Aoraki / Mount Cook. We paid extra for a room with a view. The restaurant was good with great views as well.
There is no storage space in the rooms. There is no grocery store and very limited meal options anywhere. Only 1 side table.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was well presented and comfortable.
Heating took a while to get started. Unfortunately, no WiFi available during our stay.

Beds were very comfy. The mountain view from the room was not bad. The kitchen was thankfully well equipped as we had to whip up a few dinners because besides the main restaurant in the main hotel, there wasn't any restaurants around.

Great views. Immediate parking there.
Cold air draft felt underneath door. Overpriced, no actual reception. Confusing to find Hermitage first to get keys. Generator died at night and it got too cold too fast for my infant and wife. Hermitage did give us a room, but this was an actual ordeal to experience. No toiletries nor trash bag even for the can?
Greatest injustice is there is ZERO motel pride. You stay in enough motels and sense a pride, a fierce independence from them. They aren't a hotel, they aren't a chain, they're local and connected, they are personal. This is connected to Hermitage so it feels like suckier hotel with a kitchen, which is what you think a motel would be if you never stayed in them. Motels are awesome. This is not.

very spacious,
was quite cold, bathroom had mould on roof and shower was clean, but didn’t look it as grubby under silicone seals

Great spot at the base of the mountain
instructions to find room very vague. Booked 2 rooms together months ago but were not next to each other

Modern facilities in a beautiful national park.

We were lodged one night in the hotel and one night in the motel as the hotel was overbooked and is not able to manage bookings correctly. The hotel room was passable, nothing special. Whereas the motel was nicely furnished and well equipped for a nice, cosy stay in the mountains. Honestly the motel is much better. Bigger, cosier, more modern, quieter and much more spacious. The view is spectacular from any point of view.
First of all, if you book a motel, you expect motel facilities. In our case, the property had "upgraded" us to the hotel without telling us in advance because of overbooking at their end. So we were caught off guard as we had planned a completely different stay, by buying our groceries. After complaining several times, we were moved to the motel the following day. We were very disappointed by how the property handled our two nights, I guess that's the downside of being a monopolist without any form of competition.

Breakfast and dinner buffet spread at the restaurant was amazing albeit slightly pricey for dinner! The cafe is a good place to chill in the afternoon. Views all around are amazing (except for the unfortunate fact that it rained the entire 3 days I stayed).
The family motel room which I stayed in only had 1 bathroom which is slightly inconvenient especially when it is meant to accommodate up to 5 guests.
