Avoid! Bed bug infested

Location

Major health and safety concern is the presence of bed bugs; I started developing extensive body rash after sleeping in the apartment(see picture), which was confirmed by my GP to be a bedbug related. Upon our arrival to the flat, there were no bed sheets for sofa bed, when contacted property manager, Isaac. He told us its under the sofa bed so we took picture of the empty and unclean compartment underneath. Looking back at the pic, the black dust-like speckles were the bed bugs!( see pic). At the end we used bed sheets from under the main bed which he said were clean but didnt look like it( see pic) When I contacted Isaac regarding the bed bugs and showed him pictures, he said he will give us a full refund but never did. Instead, he made a false claim to booking.com that we didn’t show up so I would lose my right to post a review.

Lack cleanliness and health and safety

The host was friendly and responded to my messages during my stay but ignored me after when I chase up a few things. Being friendly isnt enough when the basic essentials are not there.

It was a nightmare to stay here. First when i entered , the place was dirty, wet towels in the bathroom, water stain and debris in the kitchen. Stains on tables. Plates in the cupboard was dirty. It doesnt seem to be cleaned by anyway. I contact the host who agreed to send a cleaner in next day which i felt fine about as he is actually trying to address the issue. The host said he would refund the cleaning component of booking to me. To this day, i still havent received anything from Booking.com or hear from the host after chancing up. Then two days later, i found that i was bitten during my sleep. My bites were swelling and very itchy. I was checking out the next day. I was having a fever due to allergic reactions. So i messaged the host about this problem who promised to address it but did nothing. I struggle to attend work and spend a week on the sofa at home as i dont want get bring bugs into the rest of my home. Check my photos for records. After i checked out, i got notifications from Booking.com saying the host said i did not stayed in the apartment which is simply not true. I tried messaging the host again but the function was gone. That reappeared a month later, however the host did not bother to contact me . I am filing in a complaint for my stay because you cannot rent a place thats dirty, has not been cleaned routinely and have your guests bitten which is a safety hazard.

Disappointed, but it has good potential.

Good location, shops and cafes, bus stops and getting around is easy. A good bathroom with a walk-in shower is perfect. The communication with the owner was pleasant, he took on board what I said, hopefully for better changes.

The flat is at the top of the building, no lift, which makes it difficult to climb stairs with the luggage. The cleanliness standards are extremely low: dust everywhere, bed linen and towels are dark gray, very tatty, old and disgusting, not as presented in the picture. I had to buy all my own in Marks and Spencer. Durty microwave is too much in the accommodation for this price. Thick layer of dust on the lampshades, windows, tables, bedside tables. The washing machine must be deep cleaned. Disappointed.

You must stay!

It was so clean and modern. It was a great location and the host was so helpful and friendly as trust me I asked Isaac lots of questions and he was always happy to help me.

Cool, quirky, cosy apartment, 10 mins up the hill from Brighton station.

Apartment was really lovely, pretty cool, modern interior etc. It was nice & bright with the windows at the front. Huge TV with Netfix, Amazon Prime, and a great speaker, lots of games. It felt home from home which was nice & had everything you needed. The host was great with good communication about the key / providing contact info etc. I would stay again.

Pretty small pokey apartment (but cute) - It was on the 3rd or 4th floor so a fair few stairs to climb, which is fine if you don’t mind. The apartment could have done with a full length mirror. It seemed to be ‘bin-day’ both Saturday & Sunday which was so loud and woke me & my friends up extremely early which was annoying. I thought it was a little over-priced considering one of the beds was a sofa bed in the lounge.

The area is very cool . Nice funky restaurants nearby . Close to beach

I couldn’t work out the tv ! 🤔 Bed suited me but it’s quite small . I would hate it if I was a tall person 😅 Very comfortable though

Lovely place!

The apartment was really cosy and the beds were lovely. The kitchen was so handy and I loved cooking for me and my friend in it! We kept finding hidden drawers and cupboards with everything we need😆 the view was very aesthetic and I enjoyed just sitting by the window every morning to watch the sun rise. Very lovely place, would definitely recommend.

The only issues for us really were the amount of stairs we had to climb... especially with our huge bags. It was a good workout is all I can say. We also found it quite noisy due to the recycling bins just across the road.

A great little apartment in a really lovely area of Brighton

The location of the property was amazing. It was in an area called Seven Dials that had a good number of independent shops and cafes and is very picturesque. The apartment had lots of good facilities to help to ensure an enjoyable stay.

There wasn’t really anything that I didn’t like. The apartment is a great place to stay - and perhaps because of its popularity - it might benefit from a bit of refresh in a couple of areas (such as the sofa). But that didn’t cause problems for my stay.

Perfect place for a quiet and relaxing weekend

Fab place, was like a home away from home. Delightful, cosy and clean, everything we needed for a relaxing weekend was there. Location was great too, easy to walk down into Brighton town to the lanes and shops. Very kind and responsive host too. Will stay again!

Wonderful apartment for a short stay in Brighton

What a beautiful spot to enjoy the best of Brighton! Apartment had everything one would need for a short stay, and near the Seven Dials with lovely restaurants and grocery options. All the best of Brighton was just down the hill!

The three flights of stairs were a lot, but what a view! Would have loved to stay longer!

A bit cold, no central heating but portable heaters did heat the place up eventually - lovely high ceilings probably slowed the heating process.

Fantastic little flat in a great location. Absolutely perfect for my short stay in Brighton. It was ideal for me as a solo traveller but also space and facilities to host more people. Modern and bright I loved every minute I spent hanging out there. I’ll be back x

Comfortable, well located stay in Brighton.

Excellent stay in Brighton a 10 minute walk from the train station with connection to Gatwick Airport and London. The flat was spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice view of the park. The bed was very comfortable. Easy to walk from the flat to anywhere around Brighton center or catch the Coaster to the cliffs. Bars, restaurants and shops are just around the corner. Isaac was extremely responsive and helpful with check-in and throughout our stay.

There is street noise but earplugs are available. The flat is at the top of three flights of stairs so not accessible for those with mobility issues, but otherwise doable.

Comfortable flat with many of useful staff

Cozy flat in central area. Huge 4k smart TV, wash machine with dry, all necessary for cocking, toys for kids, big shower

Not useful cover for blanket on bad room. It’s slippery. And the blanket was constantly coming off and running out of bed. I never figured out how to close the blinds. This is probably my mistake, but I did not succeed. Not myself. Not after the owner's explanation. And why was hot in the mornings. The dyson fan was. In the mornings, the noise from unloading the garbage cans that are under the windows. For this, there were earplugs in large quantities and will not be a problem for those who use them. A high floor and a general climb uphill, if you return from the sea - can be a problem for those who are not in the best shape.

Great place to use to enjoy Brighton.

Great location. Dial Square on your door step with loads of great places to buy food, eat, drink etc just a few minutes walk. The town centre also very close. comfy double bed, great shower, modern kitchenette. Sash windows look out to small common. Nintendo kept kids happy.

Those stairs are something else. For luxury and the price it should have come with free parking / cheap parking. Not having to pay £65 for the weekend and walk a mile back. Was told about cheap parking a few roads away. Was not clear and couldn’t park there longer than 8 hours? And there was no chance of us moving the car before 9am. Nice space. But small. Sofa bed was not the comfiest. And we had to find the bedding (under the bed)
