Summons the expression of truly refined Ante-Bellum experience with all modern amenities. In the kitchen enjoy the timeless La CornueFe gas oven and cooktop range from Saint-Ouen l'Aumone, France served by a whisper quiet Vent-a-hood. Here you can celebrate the glorious culinary traditions of the Old World using only top-of-the-line All-Clad cookware and utensils. Stemless red and white wine glasses were not overlooked. All coffee mugs, and glasses are made of clear insulated glass along with the serving plates, salad plates and bowls so be assured every item will sparkle for you. Tidy up after a meal using the stainless bridge faucet in the farmhouse porcelain sink. All items are stored using efficient Rev-a-shelf hardware to house the spices, cutlery, flatware and accessories. Of course, the cabinetry and kitchen island are hand made on-site using only heart pine sourced during the renovation of the house, from the house.
The crystal-clear Samsung high-definition 4k smart flat screen is viewable from the living room and kitchen. Xfinity cable. Netflix, Amazon video, and Hulu are intuitively available at the touch of the remote and are complimentary.
All bathrooms are tiled using the original re-purposed slate from Vermont dating back to when the house was built by shipwrights in 1851. The original standing-seam tin front porch roofing was salvaged and is applied to the walls as the backsplash to the hand-made heart pine vanities with hand-hammered nickel-plated vessel sinks. Both bathrooms feature slate-tiled walk-in showers with Kohler rain-head showers. The water closets were sourced from Kent, England to provide a period feel from the Old-World.
In every bedroom , I provide you with a sound machine as well as smart-charging stations for your electronic devices. Enjoy the combination of ship-lap wood walls and heart pine throughout. Most, if not all, heart pine material used dates back to approximately the year 1600.

Remember that before the advent of air conditioning, Charlestonians tended to congregate on their porches to socialize and spend time to enjoy a cool sea breeze. There are rocking chairs on the porch making it a great place to relax with a book while watching the happenings on Cannon Street. But you do not have to settle for just one porch.. you have a rear porch and patio to enjoy as well. The patio has a lounge chair sofa with an Acorn barbecue grill, all utensils and charcoal provided.
Outdoor patio with Acorn barbecue grill, all outdoor cooking utensils provided.
I am three blocks from King Street. Cannon Street dead ends into King where you would be right in the middle of all the activity - many nice restaurants such as The Darling, the Grocery, Ordinary and Endaco, good places to have drinks like Stars, the Belmont, Midtown and Prohibition. There are also great niche restaurants closer than King Street. Pick the experience - fine dining to relaxed outdoor dining, it is here. You could look up Hominy Grill, Chez Nous, Trattoria Lucca, Fuel, Goulette.
I am available for questions as needed. Glad to assist in any way I can.
The home is set in Cannonborough, an inviting downtown area blending historic and stylish residential homes. It’s steps away from the College of Charleston, as well as Upper King Street’s eateries and shopping.
There is plenty to see and places to visit within walking distance. Pedicabs are readily available to get you from point A to point B. Uber and Lyft are very common. You will not face any delay catching an uber. Mind as well catch an uber for about $20 to Magnolia or Middleton Plantations.

This property is super cute! The house was very clean and cozy. The fire alarms went off on our last day early that morning. When I tried calling property owners there was no answer nor was a call returned. Overall the place was very nice, however it is a bit further from the main part of King Street.

The property is charming. And the location is perfect.

We absolutely loved our visit to Charleston and enjoyed our section of the home very much. Probably one of the cleanest properties we’ve ever rented through VRBO. We did have trouble with communication as we never received any information on how to check in until I called the day prior to our arrival. We never did meet the owner of the home - wish we had because it would have been nice to be able to tell him what a fantastic job he did on the renovation!

Wonderful property! Exactly what is described on VRBO. Check in was smooth. Will definitely be back.

We loved it! And loved the restaurant next door!

From the moment we booked our stay we received the most exceptional southern hospitality. Communications were detailed, prompt and friendly. Randall met as at the unit and was sooo sweet!! He was so happy to have us and made us feel right at home. The unit was well decorated and spacious. We will definitely recommend and be back soon!

The beautiful Charlestonian elicited many oohs and ahhs upon our arrival. We arrived late at night and the directions for accessing the property were clear and easy. The three bedrooms were perfect for this group of three sisters to have our own sleep space, yet join together in the kitchen and living areas for other activities. Great front porch! The Ladles cafe downstairs was also a delicious lunch spot. We walked to most activities we wanted to do in Charleston. Our hosts provided a detailed list of restaurants in the area. The house was very clean and well-equipped. It was nice to be in a relatively quiet area of the city, yet not far from the action. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved every minute of our trip! The perfect location in close proximity to King Street but still quiet to relax with family. The decor and architecture are beautiful. Delicious casual restaurant located right under the building. Perfect for a family getaway! Will definitely be back!

Great place to stay! Close to everything and very nice! The property Manager is the BEST! We will be back!

we enjoyed our stay the unit was beautifully appointed and very convenient. The only complaint we have is the parking situation. It was very difficult pulling in and out. There should be designated parking spots in the back for guest so they don’t take up the entire lot and not allow for other cars to park. Other than that it was wonderful and we would definitely stay again.

First time we stayed there YEARS ago with another couple it was new and wonderful. This time with 2 grandmother, 1 mother and 1 grandson…not so much. Much further from everything on king street and horrible communication with owners. Parking is TIGHT. I have a small SUV and it was tough parking. The first night I had to park across the street next to a dumpster. Requested a crib but it’s a pack and play NOT a crib. We were there in July, this is October. I decided not yo leave a review but then received this request to leave one. It’s 50% good 50% not. Roll the dice

Wonderful house in a wonderful neighborhood. Easy walk to downtown. The only slight downside is that parking was a challenge at times--and the people at Southbound restaurant next door weren't very nice.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely property. The accommodations were beautiful and the location couldn’t be beat. It was close to King Street with tons of restaurants and shops, yet the street was residential. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, having drinks and people watching. Highly recommend this beautiful property. Morgan was very accommodating and available to us if we needed anything.

We enjoyed the Charlestonian. It was close to the hub of the city life, but far enough away to be quiet. Parking in the back was a little bit of a challenge.

Beautifully restored, comfortable beds, high end amenities (love the tea tree body wash!!) in a walkable neighborhood with lots of small local stores and restaurants. We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Charlestonian. I wish we would have had time to check out the owner’s restaurant next door (Southbound) … hopefully next time.

Highly recommend! Choosing this as our homebase truly made our mini-vacation! It was a treat for my daughter and myself to stay in this lovely home, which has been renovated in a spectacular and unique style. My husband and son were not able to come with us as planned, but we felt perfectly safe and secure. It's an easy walk to the many charming shops, restaurants and bars on King Street as well as some other neighborhood eateries. We loved sitting on the front porch sipping coffee and people watching as we prepared to strike out for the day. We walked to the Battery and historic district, as well. There is a lovely and well-equipped kitchen that would allow guests to cook there (but that's not my idea of a vacation, so we mostly dined out.) Beds were very comfortable. I liked the linens and towels. Morgan (I believe that's her name?) met us upon arrival, and could not have been more helpful and friendly. We did not need any assistance during our stay as everything was impeccable. The one ever so slight downside to note is that the apartment above is also a rental, and on our last night, some guests who obviously had young children arrived so there was a little bit more noise.
If I were to return to Charleston, I would book this home again - no question!

As a first time visitor to Charleston with my family, George’s place did not disappoint! The home is renovated beautifully and located within walking distance to everything. The house was clean and comfortable. The front porch was perfect for relaxing at night and people watching. George left a ton of great and detailed information to make guests enjoy their stay to the max! We would definitely stay in this historic gem again upon return. Thank you George for making our trip so memorable and see you soon :)

We loved the property! Loved that you all supplied coffee for us to enjoy every morning on the front porch. We highly recommend the new restaurant that just opened right next door to the property!
My only suggestion is offering down pillows. Thank you so much!

We wish we had more time to spend in this very beautiful, yet very comfortable show place. It was in an excellent proximity to walk and enjoy the unique ambiance of Charleston. We came from Atlanta area and met family from Montreal on their way to Florida. A perfect show of southern charm. The kitchen was perfect to prepare dinner in chef like fashion for the 6 of us. An extra stool at the island would’ve been helpful but we made it work. Didn’t interfere with our enjoyment. Great memories for all.

Wonderful property!!! Beautiful custom work in every single room. Magnificent details! Very clean! A lot of towels available. The beds were so comfortable! Right on the street. Very short walking distance to king street, restaurants, bars, French courter. Loved our stay and will be there again!
Kudos to George and Amy on everything they have done to this property!!!

This property was not skipped when it comes to details. Charleston charm throughout made for a wonderful long weekend stay with another couple. The front porch made for great leisurely sitting with company and location was very ideal for walking distance to restaurants and bars.

This is a 5 star accommodation located in easy walking distance to all of old Charleston. The apartment is beautifully renovated and maintained. The managers are highly professional and very welcoming. Our three night stay for a party of 4 adults, which included hurricane Ian, was both fun and memorable. We would certainly return.

Excellent Time in Charleston

Easy parking, which is a huge plus for those of us coming with vehicles. Excellent experience with the management staff. Thanks for sharing your place!

Great stay
The owners have paid much attention to detail. There were paper towels and cleaning supply which you usually can’t find in rentals. The location was great for walking. We even walked to the aquarium. We brought our 4 year old on the trip and did not have any problems with the property. The noise machines were a nice touch. The beds and pillows were also very comfortable. There were even shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. Getting in touch with the managers of the property was pretty easy. If you stay here check out Ladles below they have good salads!
The property is very well maintained and cleaned, very beautiful.

Definitely stay here!
This is the prefect home away from home. They have all the amenities you could ask for! Everything was super clean. The home is decorated beautifully. The host (and carpenter!) Morgan, was very accommodating and answered all our questions about the property. We could not have asked for a better stay. Beds are very comfortable, shower pressure it prefect (shampoo conditioner and body wash a lovely extra touch), kitchen has everything you could ask for. But, you are in Charleston to EAT! There is a sandwich and soup shop downstairs on the property, which is beyond convenient. It is called Ladles. The property is about a mile and half walk to the main historic area by the city market, a little far but if you have the right shoes you’ll have nothing to worry about! Uber from the location to the french quarter area was only around 10 bucks if you aren’t into long walks and it’s cheaper then parking down there. We felt like this property provided us with a true Charleston experience! Thank you so much for sharing this place with us!
PS. Super cool bathroom toilets!
