Filthy and Uninhabitable Experience at Ocean View Cactus I

NOTHING!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Ocean View Cactus I and the subsequent handling of our case by Booking.com. We checked in on the night of 24th May around 23:15, assisted by the owner, Laci, who briefly showed us the apartment and took a 30 EUR cash fee for the late check-in. Shortly after he left, we discovered the bathroom was filthy, with excrement on the toilet and dirt on the shower floor, making it clear the apartment had not been cleaned. Upon inspecting the bed, we found crumpled, used, and sweaty-smelling sheets, along with pillowcases that smelled like hair shampoo. We contacted Laci immediately at 23:51 and sent him around 14 photos, but received no reply. When he called us back, he said he couldn’t do anything until the morning. Given the state of the apartment, we couldn’t stay there and asked for a full refund, which he agreed to. We left the keys as per his instructions and sent him a WhatsApp photo, departing at 00:19. Despite this, Laci falsely claimed we stayed overnight. We have provided proof that we booked another accommodation via Booking.com nearby shortly after our call ended and checked in around 1 am. Not only did Laci’s actions violate several regulations, but the handling of our case by Booking.com has been equally disappointing. Booking.com have refunded us only half the amount from their side, but the owner kept the full 300 EUR for providing a filthy apartment. Booking.com said they can't do anything more and that we should contact the owner, but he is ignoring our calls and emails as any scammer would do. This situation has been incredibly frustrating and I strongly advise others to avoid staying at Ocean View Cactus I.

Gut ganz nah am Zentrum und Strand mit allem was man braucht.

Sehr praktische Lage mit Blick bis zum Meer. Nur wenige Treppen runter bis ins Zentrum und 5 min zum tollen Strand. Alles vorhanden was man braucht.

Die Eigentümer können nichts dafür aber eine 10 wie gefordert kann man nicht geben weil die hässliche Bauruine davor die Hälfte meiner Aussicht blockierte. Einmal Generalputz in allen Ritten für ein richtig frisches Erscheinungsbild wäre auch empfehlenswert und dabei uralte Sonnencremes voriger Gäste in den Müll werfen.

Vista terrazza parziale mare molto bella. Materasso comodo Host gentile

Pulizia quasi inesistente, ho dovuto ripulire io anche il water e lo scopino in uno stato obrobrioso... Cappa cucina, forno non puliti penso da mesi.... Elettrodomestici schizzati, stoviglie sporche, capelli quasi ovunque... Anche se l'host si è offerto di far venire qualcuno ad effettuare la pulizia il giorno dopo non ho accettato tanto avrebbero sicuramente pulito nello stesso modo superficiale... Biancheria letto di dimensioni non idonee, asciugamani pessimi Nessun bagnoschiuma Polvere ovunque addirittura dentro gli armadi Mi dispiace ma affittare in questo modo è una mancanza di rispetto per i clienti

Van huisje geruild , andere te klein . Positief verrast bij binnen komst en gastvrije ontvangst

Lokatie , top ! Kom niet met een rollator of slecht ter been , want het is hoog gelegen . Appartement prima , alles is er wat je wilt , groot balkon , ruimte en een heerlijke douche . Wat alleen wel mag , 6 handdoeken voor het douche . Verder echt perfect !

Host - cheater. 1. He asks for 10 points in booking. It is not his business, this is guests communication. 2. Sea view - it is ghost house with cats, birds, etc view ( I attach photo) sea view is 10 % of view. 3. Price is like for sea view, but as I mentioned- it is ghost house view.

Fantastische vakantie in een rustige omgeving.

De ligging, het uitzicht, alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig.

Beetje oubollig ingericht, maar het bed ligt goed en badkamer is prima.

Das Schlüsselsystem könnte verbessert werden da wir nur einen Schlüssel für 3 Personen hatten Kleine Anregung : ein Staubsauger wäre toll

Buono, sicuramente non ottimo

La persona che ci ha accolto molto gentile e ci ha subito aiutato con un problema con la chiave (già piegata prima del nostro arrivo) ed è stata sempre disponibile. La posizione fantastica, facile trovare parcheggio, ed in meno di 5 minuti sei in spiaggia tranquillamente. Le due entrate aiutano molto per l'accesso verso la spiaggia e perché hai 2 opzioni per parcheggiare

La casa tutto sommato va bene per un gruppo di amici ma sicuramente non la pulizia non era il massimo, abbiamo trovato vari oggetti e altro dei clienti precedenti e si vede che ha molti anni La vista fantastica ma rovinata dalla casa abbandonata occupata dai piccioni davanti che oscura mezzo panorama

Ottima soluzione per Los Cristianos

Posizione super, si raggiunge comodamente a piedi la spiaggia e il centro di Los Cristianos. Bella terrazza dove mangiare e fare colazione con vista sul mare. Appartamento spazioso e attrezzato di tutto quello che serve. Host molto gentile.

Nella camera da letto le tende non oscurano molto, se avete problemi a dormire con la luce indispensabile una mascherina.

Bajeczne 10 dni na Teneryfie

Mieszkanie jest wyjątkowe, wyposażone we wszystko co jest potrzebne na odpoczynku i nawet więcej (parasol oraz ręczniki plażowe, dmuchany materac oraz zabawki dla dzieci). Bardzo przemiły gospodarz mieszkania. Apartament jest blisko plaży, sklepów i restauracji. Napewno tam wrócimy i polecamy innym.

More bad than good

The views from the entrance on the 4th Floor are wonderful as you have a great view of the swimming pool and the ocean.the balcony is large with good space with a large fridge, the bathroom ,the room and the kitchen are good too.We also liked the view from the balcony and the swimming pool is nice and clean.

The shower drain has a problem which is it gets blocked every 2-3 days I received a message from the host to inform me about this problem he told me that I should unblock it using a table fork from the kitchen. In the kitchen the frying pans and the electric kettle are old, pillowcases with yellow stains, and some smelly towels. From the balcony, you don`t have a full view of the sea as there is a building that is being constructed blocking half of the view. We have seen several dead cockroaches in the corridors of the building and the next day they were still there ,be aware that the apartment is located on the top of a mountain it is near the beaches and the city center however there are a lot of staircases to climb. During our stay, we had neighbours smoking cannabis almost every day not good for a family like us with children. Three days before our departure the host texted me to ask me to leave any unwanted food in the fridge. When checking out don`t forget to ask for your deposit back as the host completely forgot about it so we had to remind him.

I am very thankful to landlord Laci. He made all that our staying was perfect. If it will be possible I give 15 points. Some of apartment area needs renovation, it's not new but useful.

The swimming pool is located in another building 😒.

the flat was well located and clean. the neighbourhood was relatively quiet too. the hosts were meticulous about cleaning the property between rentals.

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent location with an ocean view and just a few minutes of walking distance from the main beach. The apartment was clean. We liked the swimming pool. Free street parking.

Pleasant

The apartment is great located, only a few meters to the Center of Los Cristianos and the beach. The size of the apartment is also great, it was more than enough space for two people, would even fit for 3-4 persons. The highlight of the flat is the big balcony including an eating table for great breakfasts and even sun loungers to enjoy the sun. There is a building which is in construction (or just abandoned?) and hinders to have a full view on the sea and is a disruptive factor, anyways you have a good view on the city and the sea. The host was waiting for us to give us the keys - everything was working pretty smoothly.

The biggest negative point about the flat is the cleanliness. When we arrived in the flat the floor didn't look clean and the bathroom + toilet wasn't cleaned at all - there were still traces of the previous tenants which was disgusting! After we called the host to complain about this he directly came and cleaned the bathroom - anyways that was not a great start to the vacation. Besides that, most of the furniture felt old and the furniture handles were pretty icky. The same goes for the crockery - some of the things like the pans weren't even washed, but that's more the fault of the previous tenants than the hosts. That's the reason that we had to do a general cleaning of the flat and the crockery on the first day. Summing up - the apartment has great potential but with the current cleanliness and equipment, I can't give more than 6/10 points.

Lovely location, you feel part of the community.

Huge sunny balcony with great view over beach and town. Fully equipped with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. Large pool with plenty of space to sunbathe.

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the comfort of the apartment and area. The host was very helpful in all respects.

great location in the heart of Los Cristianos. easy lower access to the town. Good pool area and fresh drinking water machine for filling containers.

We were aware of the building that had taken place in recent years so the views were not as good as they used to be. But this apartment was well set to have both sun, light and views. However not in the control of the owner the pigeons occupying the unfinished building were annoying and noisy.

A nice vacation in Tenerife in Eva's apartment

Amazing!!!

Everything was perfect! We scheduled for a plus paid transfer shuttle from the airport to the hotel and therefore too and the host was amazing giving us all he touristic details about the region, the places we could visit, the beach, the shortcuts to get there.... Fabulous! Great POOL! GREAT Stay !!

VIEW on the building under construction NOT OCEAN VIEW

The pool

We were disappointed about this reservation. The view was not on the ocean but on the building under construction with pigeons and trash. The apartment located up on the mountain and it is very difficult to get to the beach , you have to take a lot of stairs so for the vacation with kids or elderly people would be difficult,it is also not convenient if you need to go to a supermarket or closest bars, restaurants. There were a problems with a hot water, only 1 person can take a shower , then you have to wait until the boiler will heat the water again. Also the neighbors were making a maintenance from the morning so it was not quiet,. The apartment is full of furniture, so there were not enough space. Overall we cannot recommend this place. We booked much cheaper and beautiful accommodation in the other places.
