Great size for 2 families, shame about the smell and the noise!
The property had a very musty smell as soon as you walked in. The entire first floor had the same smell. It needs a good clean of the carpets (if not a full carpet change, according to Zoopla they’ve been there a very long time!!!). Would be better to have the wooden flooring throughout the property where there is heavy foot fall rather than carpet!!
The beds are rock hard, we could feel every single spring in the bottom bunk bed.
There should be some warning on the description that the property is located opposite a 24hr McDonalds, and although noise is expected with it being such a central location, there should be a better warning to say the noise is excessively loud!!!
The welcome pack advises to park in a car park which is quite expensive when staying for more than 1 night, there is free parking on the side streets just an extra 5minute walk from Marygate car park!
There are no sharp kitchen knives in the kitchen, if you are planning on cooking meals, bring your own knives or don’t bother!!
First floor shower room is small. The sink is too small for its use, and no light in the shower. Had to leave shower curtain open causing the floor to become wet when in use.

It is very near to the Betty’s tea house and the cathedral.
The wifi is affected by the internet outage.
Somewhere like in the closet or windowsill can see and touch the dust.
The shower at the top floor has beautiful view, but after shower, the water will cause the flood in the bathroom. You’ll have to clean up on your own, since there is no room service during the stay.

The property was centrally located and had enough rooms and space for our family stay.
The property is on a pedestrian street. We knew there was no parking, but on arrival we couldn’t even stop outside the property to unload the car. We had a 10 minute walk with our suitcases. The property is directly opposite McDonalds, which is open 24 hours. At pub closing time we were woken by the noise of the after-club crowd getting McDonalds and shouting to one another. At around 4am we were then woken again by the bin lorries. We also were kept awake by a group of seagulls that I think were nesting on the roof!

Clean and comfortable and convenient location, very nice décor with more than adequate facilities.
This property, though a good location in the city, is directly opposite a 24 hour McDonald's so it's very loud in the evening up until 1-2 in the morning.
5.0
superb location with all facilities provided. kids and adults have good times chilling in the premise and surrounding areas. worth the money

The apartment is lovely and the location is wonderful. The bathroom on the top floor is really nice and has a tub with a view of the Minster.
No shampoo or soap in the shower. There is a McDonalds across the street that is open 24 hours a day. People are hanging out there all night long and so it is quite loud. Even with the windows shut and earplugs in, I still had a hard time sleeping. You have to take the trash out yourself in the morning before you leave.

Perfect location for us

Modern, well maintained, clean, good location for going out.
The noise from the street below, Macdonalds at pub kicking out time is so bad, they have to have a security guard, fights breaking out and police, both nights. Then at 6am its street sweepers, bin men and HGV doing deliveries. ALL bang outside our windows. Take earplugs if you plan on getting ANY sleep!

size of property
layout fantastic for two families
location. noise from midnight to dawn. drunks yelling and fighting. McDonald’s opened 24/7. property not suitable for long stay if you want a rest and sleep during night. ideal if you wish to party all night and sleep during day. property no blackout curtains in one main room. city lights and noise impossible to sleep.
probably very basic kitchen and “tired”. shower tap that falls off in your hand. very poor lighting in steep staircases. some not working.
bedding Sooners not covered! health issue.
we arrived at 5pm temperature-5 and property not heated. heating not working (froze first night).
obviously property not checked before our arrival. POOR

Clean well equiped owers who cared for guests. Would recommend to anyone
Everything was as was promised. No complaints

Lovely spacious and elegant house which couldn't be better located for exploring York. You step out of the door and right in the hustle and bustle of the city and close to everything. Lovely bathroom om the top floor with roll top bath with Minister views
Washbasin in the first floor bathroom is extremely small. There is noise at night, which might be a problem for light sleepers. There are many stairs, which could be a problem for some people, although we saw it as good exercise!

The accommodation was lovely and spacious with plenty appliances for a family. Great position for all local attractions and shops. The hamper was full of quality products and a nice surprise. Plenty towels for everyone. Clean throughout.
Living room furniture wasn't comfy and there wasn't enough for a family of 6 even though there is plenty of room for more. Could do with air con or at least some fans as street is too noisey at night to have windows open! The front door could do with a clean it doesn't make a good first impression.

Location is the best ever we've had in York
Perfect for us but just a couple of issues like broken kitchen chairs hidden in the back of the pile and a bathroom sink that was blocked.
Clean and tidy. Great location. Would definitely use again
3.5
The location was excellent but very noisy as opposite a very busy all night MacDonalds
The noise from MacDonalds

Excellent accomadation all round!
Nothing to dislike.

Great location for Christmas. Good space and good facilities.
Loved hearing the York Minster bells.
Don’t take too much luggage as you cannot park nearby. Worth it for the location though.

Property is in the centre of York. Very spacious apartment over 3 floors. Nice little touch with a coffee/tea hamper on arrival. Very clean. New carpet throughout. Plenty of utensils. Heating worked well and in the cold we were quite cosy despite how large the apartment was. Well equipped kitchen. Good wifi. TV had iplayer etc. Good communication leading up to our stay.
Front door felt a little insecure - could do with some stronger locks. Temperature of both showers was unstable and fluctuated from cold to scalding. This was quite dangerous, especially for children. When we first used the toilets and showers there was a horrible smell (like cabbage) on the first floor. This disappeared throughout the day. The sofa was leather and very deep without any cushions, would be much more comfortable with fixed cushions.

The location was central, which was lovely. The house had a great sized living area with comfy seating and a well functioning kitchen. The highlight was the bath facing the minster on the top floor, just stunning!
The only thing that wasn't perfect was the Friday and Saturday night noise from outside.
During the week it could get bad for short periods but was tolerable, but at the weekend (and on the run-up to Christmas) it was like the end of the world.
There's a McDonalds literally opposite that's open 24/7 unfortunately, so the first-floor front-facing bedroom feels like you're actually IN the student party.
The top bedroom is ok, but I had to sleep with ear-plugs in. No noise from the back bedrooms.
Honestly, I had to include this about the noise, but everything else was so perfect, it wouldn't stop me from booking this house again.

nice and central, very clean
not enough seating in the lounge, maintenance needed to fix/replace broken items

Central location, cafes and restaurants on the doorstep
Some street noise at night, but to be expected in the central location

Plenty of room , two bathrooms one with a fantastic view of the minster and great central location
Noisy 24hr McDonald’s opposite (we would still stay again but bring ear plugs next time)
3.0
The location is absolutely brilliant . Literally nothing is more than 5 mins walk away
It is noisy at night being opposite a Mac Donald’s

Spot on location
You could hear everything going on outside
5.0
Perfect location for shopping and night life and great place. Lovely and clean.
Could do with a few extra glasses and plates for when some are in the dishwasher.
4.0
Very spacious property with good sized rooms. High ceilings and traditional features. Comfortable living room. Table in the kitchen.
There is a useful utility room on the top floor.
Easy walk to shops, supermarkets, Minister and museums.
Although very well located for all tourist attractions, it was very noisy at night because of the pubs and late night McDonald’s across the street.
There are a lot of stairs within the property which was difficult for the older member of our group so just something to consider when booking.
Parking is very expensive and a 10 minute walk away so we had to carrying cases to the property.
4.0
The location and size of the property
There was an issue with the next door shop and some rubbish bags that were piled in the front door of the house blocking the entrance to the house
1.5
Central location.
Smelly and poorly maintained property. Building works next door which began at 7.30am , bedroom on level 1 illuminated by the 24hr macdonalds opposite. Black out curtains would help.
3.5
Nice decor, good size, great location.
Great house right in the heart of the action, but we paid the price for that at night. It was extremely noisy due to the Macdonalds (24hr) being the last stop for all drinkers. Didn't sleep through once. Would recommend this accommodation to groups of stags and hens not families and sightseers.
