I loved how much charm and character there is in the hotel, beautifully decorated!
4.1
Should be more lighting in the bathroom , especially for people applying make up to get ready to go out.
4.1
Character of the building, location and staff attention to customers.
Can not think of anything
4.1
good position, all ok, just maybe a little tired and in need of a little TLC.
easy place to reach and bar area etc easy to locate
bed was very comfy
4.1
The restaurant was really good - great atmosphere. The beer garden was also really nice.

The central location was perfect but the roadworks outside didn’t help.
We were allocated Room 12 which is otherwise known The Attic. The steps/stairs from the 1st floor up to the attic are dangerously steep with a very sharp bend, not suitable for people with larger feet or those with joint pain. My knee was very very sore after ascending and descending the deep stairs.

Everything was outstanding breakfast was exceptional and staff were very attentive and pleasant….
Best hotel I’ve stayed at for a long time..

the hotel is situated in a very cozy and aesthetic spot, so much so that the roadworks happening outside at the time of our stay didn’t take away from the experience at all. it’s right next to the York Minster and only a couple minutes away from all the main attractions which was very helpful since we only had less than a week to explore york.
I suppose the doors are a bit squeaky but it ads to the dark academia aesthetic.

Lovely quirky hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Fitted us in at the last minute for breakfast and also stored our bags whilst we went for a walk around York on the day of leaving. Very helpful staff.
The delivery early Bank Holiday morning.

The room was on a quaint street near the cathedral. I could hear the bells.it was quaint and how I imagined an old pub to be. Even though I had a single room, it was quite roomy.very clean.
No parking but that isn’t uncommon
4.1
Very cute traditional pub in a great location. Beautifully decorated and close to everything.
Bed was very soft but still comfortable.

the rooms were very comfy! staff so helpful! charming old inn style hotel

Not very much
It's not a hotel ,it's a bed and breakfast .
There is no reception .
The rooms are old and dated .
The room was meant to be one of the better it was just normal, very tight, and no space .
When we walked in the first day ,it seemed we were an inconvenience and got barked at where to go. It's not very welcoming at all .
Didn't sleep much because of constant noise .
In general the facilities are poor for guests .
IT IS NOT A HOTEL

close location to city centre, right next to the minster, would recommend definitely
can be a little noisy late at night due to old windows, take ear plugs with you
4.1
The property was very well presented and cosy, also ideally situated in the city centre and close to all tourist spots.

Fantastic location, quirky rooms and amazing staff!
Only thing I would suggest is to think about changing the windows as we could hear a lot of foot traffic outside and it was a struggle to sleep due to noise in the evening.
4.1
we loved the quirkiness of the property was just what we were looking for. our room over looked the secret garden and we could see the minster too. the bed was really comfy too.
the only thing that we would change would be to have been on a lower floor as we were right at the top and it is 4 flights of stairs.

Nice pub, great location. Food lovely
Communication once left is appalling. My fault I left my toiletries bag but I cannot get hold of the pub at all. Very disappointed
4.1
welcoming , cosy warm feeling , staff are all very pleasant , room was very nice and had lovely Victorian feel to it
nothing , if I had to pick anything it wouldn’t be anything to do with the hotel anyway , every morning at 5 we got woken by a delivery lorry but like I said it was delivering along the street and nothing to do with the fat badger

Perfect location to attend University event.

Its wonderfully atmospheric and cosy. Food is very good and staff are very helpful and friendly.. The room they transferred me to for a few hours sleep was beautiful.
My single room was above the kitchen and there was a lot of noise all night from various motors and heating. The extractor fan is right under the bed. When its is on from 7am to 9.30pm there is no chance of sleep..

Lovely place to stay. Well located and very clean. Staff were so very friendly and helpful. My sister & I had a lovely weekend.
Creaking of others in rooms above...but I suppose that can't be helped in an old building!! Toilet paper was very low quality for such a nice establishment!!

Staff were all friendly and helpful
4.1
decor was nice, good location, quirky
bad smell in the bar area
very loud in the morning as the windows are thin and wouldn’t shut properly
bed squeaked a lot
4.1
oozing with character
it’s creaky.. although not an issue at all for myself and my fiancé.

charming old place. perfect location for the city centre. super comfy bed, lovely hot shower and helpful staff.
wifi speed less than 10% than regular mobile…
4.1
we liked the antique style of the place, the staff were great.
bit noisy, bin men at 5am followed by the dray men a short while later and noisy from ppl passing. I know it can’t be helped though.
