About this cottage rental
Spring of 2022 NEWLY RENOVATED BATHROOM, WINDOWS AND SIDING.
FYI, Long Term Bookings......If booking more than 10 days, the cleaning fee will be adjusted depending on the number of nights. Inquire before booking or the adjustment will be submitted and your card will be charged the difference after booking.
We practice very high standards in regards to cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing!
Sincerely,
Wanda (housekeeper) and The Francis Family
Sunsets are amazing!
FYI, BAR HARBOR IS APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR DRIVE FROM THE COTTAGE. It is a great day trip and we suggest you drive to Winter Harbor (30 minutes away) and take the Ferry to Bar Harbor and avoid the parking dilemma (downeastwindjammer.com). Awesome 45 minute boat road and bikes are welcome.
A Quiet shoreside cottage nestled amongst the trees on the shore of Dyers Bay. The only traffic you will see is an occasional lobster boat passing by to haul their traps.
The deck is the perfect place to watch our beautiful Downest sunsets as well!
Also a great spot to eat a fresh Maine Lobster on the picnic table!
The cottage is quaint yet newly updated to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our two bedroom cottage has a queen bed, two twin beds (king upon request prior to arrival) and the living room has a double size pullout couch (couch is best for children). Please advise us in advance if you require bedding for the couch and or would like the king bed vs the twins.
Located just a few miles from hiking trails on Pigeon Hill and Petit Manan Point. You won't be disappointed. Please see our reviews for messages from our previous guests.
We strive to provide a comfortable and spotlessly clean "cottage" for your visit to Maine and the most beautiful sunsets over the bay.
The cottage is most comfortable with 4 guests but can accommodate up to 5 if double couch is used....couch is best fit for children.
FYI, Long Term Bookings......If booking more than 10 days, the cleaning fee will be adjusted depending on the number of nights. Inquire before booking or the adjustment will be submitted and your card will be charged the difference after booking.

This place is beautiful! All I wanted to do was sit on the deck and look out over the ocean. We got to see an eagle several times, and a seal! The cottage was well stocked and very clean. We were very comfortable there. Wanda was very friendly and easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend this property, and would love to get to go back there someday

There are neighbors but you can’t see them and it feels remote. Listened to the seals and eagles fishing at sunset. Truly lovely.

We stayed here for our family vacation and it was perfect for us to lay our heads after a long day of hiking. We loved the seclusion of it and we even got surprised by seeing some pilot whales while hanging on the deck. The stars were absolutely amazing!

The cottage was off the beaten path, and we enjoyed the solitude. Everything was immaculate and comfortable. It is by far my favorite cottage that I have stayed in in Maine!

This was our first time actually renting a property. Normally we stay in hotels. This property was exactly like it was described and the photos truly showed the property. The host was very responsive to all of our questions and even checked in on us to ensure we were enjoying our stay. They also provided excellent selections for excursions and restaurants. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for peace and tranquility.

Nice property the deck and view is absolutely breathtaking. The house was very clean and well stocked.
Wish the signage was better for those of us that arrive after dark. Even with the directions given online, the portion once turning onto Francis Road was confusing. The signs were attached to a tree and not reflective so it took us some extra turns and mistakes before finding the house. Probably not a problem during the day but our delayed flight made our late night arrival beyond our control.
Upon arrival, we almost tripped on the small step leading up to the living room. There are small steps throughout, to the living room, to the bathroom from the living room and to the hallway from the master bedroom. My partner fell when he got up in the middle of the night because he forgot about the steps. If we would have known, we would have brought night lights to bring attention to these areas.
Lastly, the shower is tiny. Granted we're not tiny people but we couldn't waah our feet without opening the shower door due to the small space.
The peace and quiet was relaxing and enjoyable. But this is probably not a property that we would rent again.

The house was very clean. It was perfect for my husband and I to enjoy a quiet time within easy driving distance to bar harbor, Acadia, Schoodic. At 6’1”he felt a little tight in the shower. Just fyi. It’s a cute little house with a great porch to sit and view the ever changing weather and beauty of nature. So thankful for our time here. Gorgeous views.

This was mine and my husbands' first trip to Maine and Wanda made us feel right at home. She was always quick to respond and helpful with advise and recommendations.
This little Dyers Bay cottage was such a nice place to come back to after an afternoon of exploring the area. We were blessed with perfect weather and temperatures and the sunsets were beautiful. We missed the sunrises because, being from KY, we never realized that it gets daylight at 4:30am, lol. We wish it was that way in KY :)
Thanks for sharing Camp Wind, this special cottage by the sea.

At the end of the road you will find this delightful cottage with the best sunsets! Watch the eagles while enjoying your coffee on the deck overlooking the bay! End the day sipping wine while the lobster boats return and the tide changes! Gracious and welcoming host, cottage super clean.

Quiet location North of the Hussle and bussle of the touristy Bar Harbor and Acadia. However a short drive to Acadia's Schoodic location. We drove through on our last night, but wish we had spent more time. Several charming small places to eat including roadside food trucks with affordable local fare options. Our view off the back porch was ours and ours alone. Super quiet and peaceful. Great sunsets as well. This was a memorable stay for our family.

A lovely quiet spot, super clean, 45 min from Bar Harbor and Acadia. We enjoyed going to BH and Acaidia as well as fishing off the dock, more local hikes, puffin cruise, and lobster rolls. Beautiful deck for meals, wine, and sunsets! You’ll see and hear many birds including bald eagles. Wanda and Arnold are wonderful and provided excellent recommendations! 5 stars!!

Camp Wind is a great little place for a quick escape, and rain or shine the views can't be beat. Arnold and Wanda were very communicative, and Wanda gave great recommendations for activities and delicious food. Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge and Acadia's Schoodic Peninsula are very close and have great hikes. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

What a slice of heaven to stay in this cozy Camp Wind! It was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Thank you to Arnold and Wanda for making this trip a very special one for my husband and myself. Bob has Parkinson’s and was hospitalized for 2 months prior to our stay! We feel so blessed and grateful for our time away. The views outstanding and the camp so inviting. Thank you so much!

This was a last minute trip with our teenage sons. From the very beginning, Arnold and Wanda were great at communicating with and had great recommendations for places to eat and sites to see. The place was spotless when we arrived and had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the sunsets every evening from the deck and the quietness of the property. A great place and a great location. We would love to return some day. Would definitely recommend!

First time to Maine and this was everything we hoped for. Beautiful views off the deck watching the Lobster boats, day trips to Bar Harbor, and incredible hiking. Saw deer around the cabin every day. Loved it.

I've been renting in costal Maine for 40 years – this is where I will rent in the future. A modest traditional Maine camp has been restored with care and good design; and, even though we rented in October, it was immaculate and everything in. working order. Even the weather cooperated.
You can't do better.

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an ocean front with an amazing view and some seclusion. Watching the lobster boats was definitely a highlight. We saw seals and eagles from the deck. Owners were very friendly and great with communication. Definitely check out Chipmans Wharf nearby for your lobster needs! So great!

Where do I even start?!? This camp is a true Slice of Heaven. The first night we arrived, we stepped outside and THE STARS! I have never seen anything like it!

- Local farm for eggs (watch for signs)
- Chipmans Wharf - So Nice! LOBSTER!
- Knotty Lobster Food Truck
- Breakfast @ Milbridge House Restaurant

I thank the owner so much for opening his cottage to us. We got there late at night. The cottage was spotless. We arrived a day early. Wanda was amazing in getting everything we needed. In the Morning we just couldn't get over the view we had. It was beautiful. It was perfect I love the water my husband loves the woods. Best of both worlds. It was quiet, beautiful the best getaway spot. It is not to far from Bar Harbor. We took a day trip every day. I would stay here again. I got only one picture of the sunset. And it is beautiful. I wish we would of had more time. We did a day trip to the lubec it was a beautiful light house on the Canadian border. Well worth it. Arcadia parks both of them. Wildlife refuge is down the Rd. From cottage. Again I want to say a big thank you to Wanda and Aronld. You guys are the best. Have the best getaway ever!!!

This property is located at the end of the road and sits alone. It is very private. If you are looking for a secluded getaway, this is it. The deck is awesome providing a great view of the water. Sunsets are beautiful. Lobster boats are parked a short distance away. You can watch them working their traps. Ride into town is about 10 minutes. Highlight of the stay was crabbing off the pier. We saw an eagle and their were some big fish jumping and creating quite a stir among the bait fish. Very relaxing. Cabin is very cozy.

Super clean, charming small cabin. The location and view are excellent. Housekeeper had the best communication! Great recommendations for anything you are looking to do.
Take the ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor if you're staying here. It's worth the trip.

My wife loves Maine and use to vacation in Maine with her family as a child. We wanted a comfortable cabin with a water view and a country setting. Loved this place. The wife didn't want to go home. Great location to Arcadia park and hiking trails. Great fresh seafood to buy and cook at home. Be sure to check out the local businesses and restaurants. To wake up to the views this place offers is memorable

I wanted a clean property on the water away from the tourist areas of Bar Harbor but close to other options besides just Acadia..... This was perfect. My family enjoyed the nearby Acadia Puffin Cruise , Pigeon Hill Preserve, Schoodic Area of Acadia, Tidal Falls nearby in addition to the standard Bar Harbor land bridge and Cadillac Mountain hikes about 45 minutes away. Communication with Arnold and Wanda was excellent (Wanda even sent us suggestions and a pic of a sunset we missed!) and the house was spotlessly clean and the view from the deck is so relaxing. The cabin is very comfortable with everything you need to feel you are off the beaten path..... But not too far away! One of our family's top vacations. Thank you!
