About this house rental
Settle into our newly-renovated, modern and comfortable three bedroom unit within the confines of a secured resort and just 10 minutes from South Africa's flagship Kruger National Park (KNP). Recent renovations includes mosquito netting on all windows, brand new bathrooms and updated tiles throughout the unit.
Our free-standing, self-catering unit, in Hazyview, offers a fully equipped kitchen with spacious open plan living and dining rooms, three full bathrooms, and a large outdoor deck with braai/BBQ. Our unit is free-standing with no units on either side of us -- unlike some of the others on the property.
One en-suite bedroom has a king bed, another has two twin beds with its own bathroom while the third en-suite upstairs has two twin beds along with a bathroom. All bedrooms have air-conditioning, ceiling fans and block out curtains. Our self-catering kitchen will meet all your needs including a coffee machine, toaster, microwave, electric kettle, stove, oven and dishwasher. We also offer access to wi-fi from within our unit.
You can rest easy after cooking dinner or grilling knowing our complementary daily cleaning will wash the dishes, clean the grill and make up the beds while you are out in your morning safari.
NEW: In order to alleviate the issues around load-shedding, we have a gas stove for cooking and boiling water. We also have an inverter and battery back-up that will kick in to power the lights, fans, fridge, tv, decoder, router and most plugs. The oven, aircons, dishwasher and water heater will not be powered by the battery. In the kitchen, above the sink, there is a box with a green and red light. When both green and red lights are on means that all systems are a go and there is Eskom power. Just the red light means, stop and be careful how you use power since load-shedding is on.
Sip your favorite drink while enjoying the South African sunset over the mountains from the romantic, shaded balcony off the upstairs bedroom or enjoy the larger wooden deck while grilling in our built-in grill.
Among the resort’s many amenities are a golf course, tennis courts, a hippo hide and plenty of kids' activities. Our villa is a minute’s walk from one of the resort’s three swimming pools (not the main one so less busy) and close enough to the hippo hide to hear them grunt at night. The villa is located near three supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and shops. Only 10 minutes away, KNP’s Phabeni entrance gate is one of the few that offer guided night drives to safari enthusiasts not staying inside the game reserve.
For anyone new to self-drive safari or visiting for the first time, we offer tips and suggest detailed self-drive route inside Kruger.
The open plan living and dining rooms give the downstairs an airy feel with views of the outside and easy access to the patio via two sliding doors. A large wooden deck with built-in grill/braai is an ideal entertainment area and a lovely way to the end the day. Double covered parking is available. A nine-hole 18 Tee Gary Player designed golf course, three swimming pools, and a restaurant are also on site. All bed linens and bathroom towels are provided. The lounge offers a wide selection of DStv channels on our flat screen TV.
Guests have access to all the following amenities provided at The Kruger Park Lodge:
On-site restaurant
‘Big Five’ game drives
Bird watching
4 tennis courts
Hippo hide
Putt putt/mini-golf
Gary Player 9-hole (18 Tee) golf course and driving range
Trampolines
Volleyball court
Conference facilities for up to 40 delegates

Exceptional
We had an amazing stay and were quite sad to leave. The chalet is bright, modern and extremely comfortable. Had better sleep here than at home! Two teens enjoyed their space upstairs and could make noise well into the night without it disturbing those in the room downstairs. Incredibly light and bright, well situated close to the Kruger. The afternoon sun on the main bedroom bed is the perfect complement for any afternoon nap.. The owner was helpful and very responsive - 5 stars all round.

Wonderful Getaway!
We were very impressed with the cleanliness and decor of this unit. The layout worked well for 2 families with children. And enough parking for 3 vehicles. The unit had a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of linens. Beautiful resort property with lots of amenities, and in close proximity to shops, restaurants, and 2 Kruger gates. We will definitely stay here again!

Impressive well maintained and relaxing
It was ideally situated being 10k from the Phabeni gate, as we were primarily focused on visiting the Kruger Park. There are malls very close by so there is no need to buy before hand.
The house was well appointed, fully serviced and we really did not need for anything. There is an excellent restaurant on the property with a wide variety catering for all ones needs.
It was also ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area and a 'must' visit would be to Harrie's pancakes in Graskop which is a lovely drive through the forests. We were very impressed with the entire experience and would not hesitate to return

Wonderful place near Kruger National Park
We have spent a wonderful week at Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge. Swagat is reflecting the circle of life of the african nature. Kruger Park Lodge is very close to Phabeni Gate, one of the entrance to the famous Kruger National Park. You will receive this gate in only 8-10 minutes. Other Highlights like God´s window, Bourke Luke Potholes, Three Rondavells, Pilgrims Rest etc. are not fare away. The support of the owner during the booking process was fantastic. We have been updated all the time with the best instructions for our arrival from Johannesburg Or Tombo Internatinal Airport to Hazyview.
We are proud to be your guests, thank´s for all Heeten.
Best regards
Ralf

Excellent, very comfortable and well equipped
The house is very comfortable. It is spacious and very well equipped and had just undergone renovations and was impeccable. It is located in a beautifully landscaped subdivision, with many pools, a lake and a golf course, and is very close to the entrance to Kruger National Park (Phabeni gate).

Superb accommodation.
Spacious house with recently renovated bathrooms and kitchen with a nice view of the town. Our stay was too short but we will definitely return. The owner was a pleasure to work with and has equipped the house with all the comforts of home. A must if you lucky enough to find this accommodation available.

Wonderful Kruger getaway!
This chalet at Kruger Park Lodge was the perfect place for our family to stay during our week at Kruger National Park. The chalet easily accommodated the four adults and two kids. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was functional, the living room and dining area (inside and outside) were spacious and inviting. There was plenty of space (3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms) for everyone to have their own space and feel comfortable throughout the week. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the 3rd Fairway in the mornings, swimming in the pool just steps away from our front door in the afternoon, and watching the impala and monkeys just outside our windows. Kruger Park Lodge has everything you need (a restaurant, golf course, three pools, plenty of space to take a long or short walk, ping pong, pool, and tennis at the Main Lodge, even hippos playing in the water off the 2nd Fairway). We always felt safe (well protected gated community) and the staff at KPL were attentive to our every need, including help with internet data (bring your own as their "tokens" run out quickly!), laundry, and opening the Safe only minutes after giving them a call. If you are looking for a home base to explore Kruger National Park and the surrounding Hazyview area, KPL and this chalet is the place for you!

Swagat at kruger Lodge- "Beyond Beautiful"
Swagat at kruger lodge is a truly a piece of heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it as the ultimate holiday destination. The chalet is superbly maintained-cleanliness and comfort exceeded expectations. The owner was super efficient... in providing details of the lodge, directions and valuable tips for self drive safari -all of which made our holiday hassle free and blissful. We were completely in awe of the surrounding beauty, abundance of wildlife and breath-taking views just outside your door. The staff were friendly and always obliging . Its a perfect place for kids....numerous recreational activities are available to keep kids busy .. they will never be bored. This resort has it all!

Exceptionally enjoyable repeat stay at Swagat!
When we decided to return for self-drive wildlife adventures in Kruger, we didn’t think twice about staying at Swagat again. Comfortable, nicely appointed, great amenities, kid/family friendly, with easy access to all that Kruger Park Lodge and Hazyview have to offer. The owner’s deep knowledge of the area was immensely helpful in helping us to plan our itinerary. We won’t stay anywhere else!

Perfect place near Kruger
This place was perfect for our time at Kruger Park. At first I wondered if we would have been happier staying in one of the camps in Kruger, but after going there, we know this was the right choice. The camps in Kruger can be soooooo crowded. This house is less than 10 minutes from the Kruger gates, and our safari guide picked us up at the door to our house, and drove us right to the park for a couple of great days. This house was perfect for our party of five adults. Very clean and new and well appointed. The master bath has a tub with hand-held shower which is a little dated, but worked just fine. There is a swimming pool less than 100 yards away that almost no one else uses, so it felt very private. And the hippo hide is also just a short walk away with about a half dozen very busy hippos in the evening. Also saw Impala and monkeys on the grounds. Check in and check out was very easy, and we felt very safe and secure in this house. Highly recommend this place for a trip to Kruger and the area.

A stay at Swagat @ KPL is a winning choice
Our return stay, with the family at Swagat @ KPL was as pleasant and enjoyable as the previous 2 times. Ideal to set up base to travel to Kruger National Park. The setting has a golf course, hippo hide, 2 pools (one close to the unit), among other things. The unit is free standing and creates an impression of being secluded, even when the lodge is busy. A lovely unit, well maintained and modernly furnished and kitted. A couple, family or even a group of 6 will be very comfortable here. It is the ideal location to set up base to do a Panorama route tour, and visit the nearby attractions. Your host has prepared an informative welcome pack outlining the various activities, and recommendations. If you are driving to the destination from Johannesburg, then a comprehensively detailed direction list is provided. After a tiring day of travelling or exploring, you will welcome the luxury and comfort of the unit.

Lovely house - perfect for Kruger Park
This is our third stay at Kruger Park Lodge and our first at Swagat. The house was beautifully presented and furnished. Perfectly situated within the grounds for a short stroll to the Hippo Hide. Booking was easy and straightforward. I also liked being able to check details etc using the Home Away App. The Park facilities were the usual great standard and the staff friendly and cheerful.

A peaceful sanctury
Writing this makes me wish I was back at the oasis in what has to be one of the world's most beautiful locations. It is so rare to have a visit to an adventurous part of the world run so smoothly: from the detailed directions provided by the host, to the warm welcome upon arrival. There is a genuine sense that the staff care from 'hello' to farewell. The kitchen perfectly appointed with everything you need, quality appliances making it easy to cook at home. Amazingly you can even order in from nearby. Safari style for those looking to relax and reconnect with nature rather than online. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are great, the spaces are cool in the heat. I so wish I could be quietly viewing hippos splash about, or playing golf on the magnificent course, or simply sitting on the deck sipping on a Savannah. I will make this special place my Kruger Park stay for now and forever.

A peaceful sanctury
It was such a rare pleasure to have everything go seamlessly when on a adventure. From the detailed descriptions of how to get there to an extremely user-friendly way to get around to local spots. This is luxury safari style with the benefit of being able to cook in an actual kitchen and keep thing cool in proper refrigeration. While comfortably and luxurious, one feels at one with nature, not an imposter but a participant. As I write this review I wish so much that I was sitting on the front porch sipping a Savannah and watching the sunset, or mid day quiet visits to see hippos cavort in the river. The space is cool, comfortable, sensible, stylish. An ideal escape from the world's madness and sadness. And if you so wish, you can swim (which I did) or even play a round of Golf on what has to be one of the most magnificent courses I've seen. This will be the Kruger oasis I return to for future visits.

location wonderful!
the location is so close to everything at Kruger! Only downside is the wifi arrangement (buying data from the front desk that then clonks out after a few hours ) really sucks. Otherwise, great place.
